I am particularly ashamed that Bush has adamantly opposed this, how the hell can we rail against Ahmadinejad's psychotic rants calling for the destruction of Israel, and not acknowledge the Armenian genocide? Answer, you can't, unless you're a hypocrite.
I fully support the passing of this resolution, the Armenian people, those who died, and their descendents deserve this, we never hesitate to call the Holocaust, the events in Rwanda, the Balkans and in Darfur currently what they are, genocide. Why should Armenia be any different?

George W. Bush is an American Hitler.
Damn, dude! Godwinned on the first line, you don't mess around, huh?

Pic just because...
We can no longer deny that unpleasant reality and we must face the sad fact that the President of the United States is an international war criminal, a despot who sanctions torture and a madman who is nothing less than a mass murderer.
Here, breathe...

Impeachment of this criminal is no longer an option. It is a necessity. Bush, along with his partner in crime Dick Cheney, must be removed from office. They must be arrested and tried for their crimes and, upon conviction, they must be punished to the full extent of the law.
Did he write this himself or did he copy and paste together a medley of other moonbat rants?
The United States can no longer sit back and allow the slow, plodding wheels of Democracy take its course. We cannot wait until January 20, 2009, to remove these thugs from office. It must happen now. He is a threat not only to the peace and security of the United States but represents a clear and present danger to the world as we know it.
You're right, better get crackin! We're right behind you...heh.
Bush is an international terrorist far more dangerous than Osama bin Laden. Bush is a Hitler with nuclear weapons, an unhinged, megalomaniacal madman bent on world destruction.
Mein Gott! Could this piece get anymore cliche? Well I guess if he was writing Bushitler...
I’m sorry, but as an American I can no longer sit back and leave the removal of George W. Bush from office to the flawed political system. That is the system that put him into office, not once but twice, and it is the system that has allowed him to seize control of the government and subvert the will of the American people.
Translation from the original Liberal Doofus to American English: "I can no longer sit back, I'm gonna furiously punch out more and more crazy rants that are borderline threats that I don't have the balls to carry out, but I hope I goad some nutcase into doing it for me."
The Democratic leadership of Congress failed the American people by not delivering on the promises that swept them into power in the 2006 midterm elections. The only way they can restore credibility is by taking the drastic, but necessary, steps to remove Bush and Cheney from office before they destroy this nation and the world.
Translation: "Democrats better do what us Nutroots want or we'll act like the loons we are in public, embarrass them and undermine their election campaigns."
I truly believe the situation is that desperate, that this nation cannot survive another 15 months with Bush and his cronies in power.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
The time to act is now…before it is too late.
Too late for what? You to write another pathetic, cliche-ridden piece calling for a forceful removal of Bush and pretending like you'll be spearheading the effort yourself?
I only pray it not already too late.
What a goof...

...I'm calling BS, if AIPAC was that powerful, why wouldn't they just make the youth group lecture AIPAC only?
Why is Israel's increasingly brutal 40-year occupation of Palestinian land regularly debated in the mainstream media abroad, including in Israel, but not here? And why is there an almost total lack of discussion among presidential candidates about the dollars that subsidize this occupation and the American diplomatic support that makes it possible?
Why isn't it discussed here? It is discussed, but the problem for people who hate Israel like you is that the American people are the only people that won't budge from the position that Israel has a right to exist, and you know it you stupid twat. And the reason those subsidies don't get discussed is because most people agree that Israel should get them, with the exception being the Nutroots and Paleocon crackpots like Pat Buchanan.
And you have the nerve to talk about Israeli brutality? I don't see the Israelis purposely targeting civilians, however I do see Palestinian terrorists doing so regularly, attempting to blow themselves up in pizzarias and buses full of civilians.
In a society built on the free exchange of ideas, as Walt and Mearsheimer point out, one answer can be found by looking at the many self-appointed gatekeepers, such as Abraham Foxman and the Anti-Defamation League, or Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, who use their Jewish identity as both a shield and cudgel. They work diligently to silence those who question ill-conceived policies of the Israeli and U.S. governments.
Ah, I see, this is the type of person we're dealing with here. For those that don't know, Walt and Mearsheimer wrote a book claiming AIPAC and some other powerful Jews and Jewish groups form and excesssively influence most of the US policy in the Middle East. Basically its a new spin on the old classic Anti-semite "Jews control the world" meme, as I've heard Abraham Foxman call it. The authors mad at Dershowitz because he's been going after Jew-Hatin' Jimmy Carter for his hateful book.
Of course, they're not being silenced, or I wouldn't be making fun of this numbskull, cuz I would have never seen this stupid article.
Non-Jewish critics, even former President Carter, are denounced as anti-Semites. Special ire is reserved for Jewish dissenters, who are branded as "self-hating" or "marginal," while Muslim and Arab-Americans are easily smeared and even criminalized with charges of supporting terrorism.
Jimmy Carter does hate Jews, half of his political thinktank bailed on him because they were appalled at his anti-Semitic book, and not to mention his cheerleading for the vile terrorist group Hamas.
I can't be bothered to dissect the rest of it, basically a couple of people who are facing opposition in getting chairs at colleges and a few cancelled speaking engagements, blah blah, being repressed, so here's the last bit,
Unless this atmosphere of intimidation is confronted, Americans will continue to lack access to information and perspectives necessary to formulate effective Middle East policies, virtually ensuring that Israel and the United States will be at war for many years to come.
And that's where much of this newfound "Anti-Zionism" garbage stems from, and why a lot of the Nutroots are becoming outright Anti-Semites. The Left in America is first and foremost anti-war, if Western nations are fighting it (doubly so of they're winning), and that is where we get some of the Anti-Israel Jews from.
This is also likely why people like Pat Buchanan and other isolationists tend to be anti-Semitic, that said, the real question then becomes a chicken and egg conundrum, which came first, the Anti-Semitism, or the anger at Israel because it forces them into an ideologically incompatible place?
Its not that the Anti-Israel Jews aren't Jewish, I'm not claiming that, they're just religiously Liberal first, and for a Leftist, that means they have to abandon the tiny outpost of western democracy in the Middle East, even if it means the total slaughter of a people at the hands of a brutal and fanatic enemy that represents everything the Left claims to oppose and fear in America.

The Browns are going to begin the 63 month sentence they face for tax evasion, and will likely be facing other charges because their property is littered with booby traps and illegal explosive devices.
After federal raid disasters like the ones at Ruby Ridge and Waco, the Feds decided to do things in a slow, methodical way that would avoid a big firefight. Locals were getting impatient because of the stream of crazy militiamen and other assorted nutbars visiting the Browns to support them. The only major action that happened before the Browns were taken in was in June when the Feds surrounded the property while they seized another Brown owned property.
I think the Marshals made a good choice in taking a slow methodical approach in dealing with these nuts instead of doing a big raid that ends in a big firefight and people getting killed, Ruby Ridge and Waco both ended up big PR disasters for the Feds.

The hypothetical flag of the Republic of Vermont.
Apparently, both movements are growing, which is entirely unsurprising, I fully expect that they'll continue to given the frustration of over where the country is going and an increasingly different opinion on where the country should go.
I expect that this sort of thinking is going to become more mainstream over time(where now its in the tinfoil hat realm), there is going to be a strong appeal to move in this direction, as it makes living in a nation run by an ideology you identify closely with much, much easier. Of course one wonders if the people who are leaning toward this idea have thought about the negative side effects of this idea.
That said, I'd like to see the federal gov't loosen its control and let the states have more say and responsibility or even direct say and responsibility, particularly on domestic policy, but this secession talk is too much.

Apparently, the crossword came from a website that you pay for activities for the kids. This teacher shouldn't necessarily be fired for the crossword puzzle, but I think the case could be made to fire them for stupidity for not recognizing the trouble they were about to visit on themselves.
Oh, and I know South Park fans thought of...

Because that was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the title.

Naomi Klein quotes economist Milton Friedman as saying "...Only a crisis actual or perceived causes real change". In her book The Shock Doctrine, the author describes major economic and political shifts taking place in the immediate aftermath of traumatic upheavals (war, natural disasters, etc.), an analytical record of the ideological exploitation of people's vulnerability and fear throughout our history that is enlightening and staggering.
Okay, the classic Hitlerburton profits on war meme, right? I, er, think so. I think this guy was seriously high when he wrote this. The author writing...whatever the hell he was writing pitches "The Shock Doctrine" like a pitch from a corny self help seminar.
[quote]Chapter 1: Got Gun?
You know when liberals talk about firearms, they're about to say something really stupid. It shouldn't take long...
Told ya it wouldn't take long, who did you think was gonna clean up New Orleans, the government? The same federal, state and local that failed to improve the levees, the ones that put money up to work on it and let it get squandered? The ones that didn't evacuate the city, the one that let the police force dissolve? The one who refused to call up the Nat'l Guard or the Feds immediately for help out of pride? That government?"Going postal" is no longer a synonym for losing your mind, eating a urinal cake and murdering innocent co-workers with an assault weapon (and who is innocent, really?). It's hot. It's cool. It's the way to get what you want when you want it, why, how and who you want it from. "What?" you say? "Whoa!", say I. When those planes slammed into the WTC, when Hurricane Katrina ripped New Orleans a new one, disaster capitalism swooped down upon the misery-sodden masses and made lemonade from a shitload of lemons.
I'll keep going, the one that completely ignored the plans set up for the city. The government that didn't get it through locals heads that if a big hurricane hit and the levees failed the place would flood out, something I knew before the storm hit and I live in Pennsylvania? The government who's disaster agency ordered a bunch of trailers and then let them rot in some field? The same agency who was totally inept in what is supposed to be its singular role, preventing and responding to crisis?
Once again, its real easy to bitch about how businesses and individuals are profiting, but until the acolytes of big government prove they're anything but a bunch of fuckups and can actually accomplish something in a timely, efficient fashion, they're just a bunch of noise. We've pumped billions in government aid into New Orleans, and its still a fucking mess.
These triumphant moments (and many, many more), when clear thinking, driven individuals who had studied the probability factors of such events for years and waited patiently for events to transpire, are no longer the domain of mini-testicled racists who wear fishnet stockings and pleasure themselves to crinkled, yellow photos of Henry Ford. They can be YOURS. But first, YOU have to get mad! So mad that you lose all sense of perspective and reason and balance and humor!
Er, what?
That's right: lose your sense of humor. I have and now I am a blogger.
True, but I don't think you actually realize it. Apparently he's pretending he's an evil wingnut neo-con...or something.
Next, get a gun. It's easy: our aforementioned buddies in the fishnets over at the NRA have made it so. Roll into any sporting goods store, go up to the counter, turn your beaked cap backwards and say: "Gun, please, mister." You'll be packing heat in no time.
Idiot, he'd probably soil his pants in terror if someone handed him a Red Ryder.
No real life altering opportunity ever fell from the heavens into the upturned palms of sweaty, bespectacled geeks who always wanted to rule the world but just didn't have the wardrobe. They studied history. They attended lectures by prominent dorks in tweed who espoused philosophies similar to their own. They watched The World at War repeatedly and could sing the words to its haunting theme music ("...we are in a world at war...guess that's what the world is for...").
That's right, cuz that's how we capitalists and neocons roll, bitch!
And they hated all the progressive, hippie legislation that seemed to grow like toxic dandelions all around them, "love" this and "peace" that. It made them dyspeptic, dizzy with rage. Man had been robbed of the right to rule with an iron fist by long haired hippie-type pinko fags I bet you even have a commie flag tacked up on the wall inside of your garage.
Uh-huh. Because we all know hippies are legendary for opposing iron fist rule and they never support thuggish dictators like Hugo Chavez or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in order to spite Republicans, but keep going stupid, you might impress me.
And once you've planned and practiced and practiced and planned, go out there and git some. And then watch the changes take place, right before your eyes. It'll be just like television. And your life will now matter. YOU Will Matter! And YOU Will Profit!
"Git some"? Liberals really do boil down everything they believe into a movie or TV show, Jesus Christ...
That's The Shock Doctrine for use at home, my friend. Don't let those Neo-Condolleezza-Rice-A-Reaganomic-Oxy-Contin-poppin'-Podhoretz-worshippin' fat cats have all the fun! Why must misery and its attendant profiteering take place on a global scale when you can reap the benefits of chaos and despair right in your own garage? Study the past indeed!
I guess this is this guys version of satire.

The company focuses most of its business on putting together telecommunication systems in China, but has also been accused of putting together a telecommunication system for Saddam before the Iraq war by the Iraq Study Group. In 2003, it also got hit with a patent infringement suit from Cisco Systems, which it settled.
So what's the Romney connection you ask? Well, Huawei is part of 3Com, a business group, and is going to be bought by Bain Capital, which Mitt Romney used to run. Yup, that's it! There's your big connection...
Note to Lefties before you jump on this bandwagon: I think you need to go back to the drawing board there, guys, this one kinda sucks...

(Here's what the crime against humanity looks like, apparently)
This is becoming a running series at doubleplusundead, we've chronicled this fixation on attempting to cash in on classic movies and other things by doing crappy remakes, the sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and of course the upcoming GI JOE movie, which will undoubtedly suck...and there are countless other classic films and TV shows you and I can think of that have been ruined because businesses can't seem to come up with an original idea, and feel the need to "reinvent" the classics.

That said, if its true, I'm sadly glad. How bad is it that I actually think they're better off with Kevin Federline? And I know I'm not alone. I honestly hope the situation for these kids gets better, they deserve better, K-Fed is by no means the kind of person I'd pick for father of the year, but Britney's a train wreck, and its better that the kids aren't around her right now, hopefully she can get herself in order so she can be with her children.

I'm a hell of a drug!
So now, he's in court, and filed suit trying to get the money back soon after his girlfriend cashed it. He's a Wall Street stock trader who goes out regularly for hookers and blow, so he has money, his girlfriend says she has a bunch of saved texts between him and her that say he told her to go ahead and cash it, and talks about failing a home drug test.
