Dear God, No...

*Hello Hotair Readers!
*Hello Fellow Morons!

Hollywood is looking to ruin another classic.  This time its Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  Seriously, who doesn't love Ferris Bueller's Day Off?  Its such a fun movie, and everyone should see it as a teenager.

This proposed craptacular would be set on Ferris' 40th birthday.   I'll spare you the details of this horrid plot, but you can read the article if you wish to see what the general plot would be.  The author of the piece fears a crappy direct to DVD release...let's pray that doesn't happen.

Well, a direct-to-DVD "release" no one sees would be better than a crappy theatrical release...

2 I honestly don't know if that is better.  I can't decide which is worse, a crappy theatrical release or the black mark of having a Direct to DVD release on the series.

3 The guy who wrote this does realize that adults are allowed to take days off when they want to, right?

4 See what I mean?  Disaster is guaranteed.

5 Why don't they just put it under a different name? I know that wouldn't make the script any better, but think about it. If were done under another title yet had the same characters, wouldn't it seem less pretentious? We're not stupid. They don't have to dumb things down for us.

6 I dunno, they've been doing this for a while.  Nobody goes to the crappy new movies, so they dredge up old ones and make a sequel, looking to latch their new crap to old classics.

7 They're also making "Horton Hears a Who" into a movie.

With requisite Jim Carrey voice.

Can't they leave my childhood alone?

8 Obviously not.

I think this is the first time you've commented here, Slublog!

No Slublog they can't. I've got pitchforks and torches. Do you have a lighter?

10 I've commented at least one other time.  Can't remember when, though.

I have a grill starter - that will do the trick for the torches...

11 Hmmm...yeah, I think I actually do remember you commenting before now that you mention...sorry.
