President Obama treated Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to a traditional American lunch at the Arlington eatery Thursday before returning to the White House for a joint news conference.

Obama ate a traditional cheeseburger, while Medvedev added jalepenos, mushrooms and onions to his. The pair shared an order of fries, according to the White House. No word on which superpower paid for the meal. (Update, 1:47 p.m.: It was Obama's treat.)

Yeah, and the aforementioned Secret Service detail was our treat.

Seriously, I don't know if this place delivers, but even if they normally don't, I'm sure they would have made an exception after getting a phone order from the White House.

The rumor I heard on the radio was that they hit a highly pressurized abiotic oil pocket several thousand feet under the ocean floor and that "no human technology" can close it up.

Well, other than a side-shaft nuclear explosion that, according to this source, if mishandled, would permanently crack the pocket causing an indefinite problem.

I wonder if there is any way to prove/disprove if this oil is abiotic.

Update:  A couple more things.  First, I've always been rather open to abiotic oil theory because it just seems unlikely to me that so much plant/animal matter made it several miles under the earth practically EVERYWHERE. 

Second, now that I'm looking around the webs, there are quite a few (not necessarily reputable) people talking about this and claiming that, if it IS abiotic, it could last FOREVER!!!!11

HP, Boeing, Disney and Newscorp, which owns Fox have teamed up with Nanny Mike Bloomberg to push for amnesty.  This cannot be accepted.  If you're looking at buying a new computer or printer, look somewhere other than HP, cancel that trip to Disney and turn off Fox.  These fuckers need to learn stupid hurts.

Dingy Harry is in trouble, gonna be happy to see him lose his seat, oddly enough, his son is also running for governor, and is going to extreme lengths to avoid being tied to his father, leaving out his last name wherever he can in ads and his site. 

That alone should be a disqualifier to potential voters, I mean, yeah, it's Dingy Harry, but would you really want to vote for a guy that'd go as far as denying his own father in order to get elected to office?

You aren't going to see this very often so I think you may want to write this down.

I completely, 100% agree with how Obama has handled the General McChrystal with the added bonus that he picked basically the most excellent possible general to replace him.

Bottom line is, as much as I love the military and those who serve in it, they work for the President.  He is their boss.  An honorable person makes every possible effort to discuss his concerns/disagreements with his boss before he goes around/over him and that's only when the disagreement is about something absolutely critical. 

Instead, McChrystal spouted a bunch of shit-talk to a Communist rag and completely sucker-punched the administration.  That's straight up bullshit and just like Bush shouldn't have tolerated this (to the degree he did) Obama has no reason to.  Even if McChrystal is correct on the merits (and I can't think of a bigger dipshit than Biden) he went way outside the proper channels for dealing with whatever issues he had and essentially placed his boss in a position where his options were very limited.  No organization can function effectively when its leadership (such as it is) is constantly undermined by its own members. 

But, of course, there is a higher cause here than honor and politics and that is bringing the war in Afghanistan to as swift and successful a completion as possible.  Were Obama asked to choose between firing him for the reasons I've listed above or winning the war, the choice would be clear (to most, anyway) but luckily Patraeus stepped up and broadened the options. 

So, we have a solid result that I believe will enhance the chances of success in the war along with the appropriate response to an outrageous example of insubordination.
