Weekend Edition.  Yeah, its kinda a short one, I'll update later as more posts come up today, and I'll probably add some Sunday too.

Brackets for potential GOP VP picks

Chad has this right, people are starting to wonder if ethanol was a bad idea?  Starting?  As chad says, there were plenty of people who were already questioning this genius ethanol idea before it took off...

Ask a Moron.

Some interesting info on demographics at the Eggman's.

Catholicism is incidental when it comes to PA Catholics breaking for Hillary over Obama, and will break for McCain over Obama in November.  The real reason, as I've talked about before, is that these are blue-collar white voters who are social conservatives, Obama wouldn't hedge his rhetoric, or at least convincingly pander to them.  Then he decided to piss on them from San Fransisco, and he dashed any hopes of winning here.

Free e-books!

Wyatt is with the Philly Police Department, and has word that a Police Sgt. was ambushed and killed by two bank robbers, and may have had a third accomplice.  Keep the family of this officer in your prayers.  Philly is a crime-ridden place, and police officers like the Sgt. do their best to keep things in control.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of criminals in Philly who have no qualms about opening fire on a police officer, or anyone else for that matter.

Joe on the gas tax holiday, and why Hillary's gax tax holiday is pure demagoguery and utter crap.

Here I thought Stash was doing better...turns out he's lost his friggin' mind.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune on the verge of bankruptcy.  The Star-Tribune is known for its relentless leftism, and is regularly a target for Minnesota and sometimes Wisconsin bloggers...and everyone else too.  A thought, do newspapers really have to die?  The NY Post seems to be thriving as the NYT faces the same fate as the Star-Tribune.  Sure, the NY Post is a much different beast than the NYT, but I still think that there is a trend where newspapers that are the most aggressively wielded like an ideological sledgehammer liberals are suffering the most.

Cranky points out the Gratitude Campaign, meant to encourage people to show gratitude to our servicemen, and Mike at Cold Fury has been looking for people to send some love to some Marines, which would be a great thing to do.

I'll ask the same thing at the end of this post, When the hell is stupid asshole Jack Thompson getting disbarred?

FAIL

I don't think I've ever heard a negative review of the Springfield XD series, seems like it'd be a great choice for anyone in the market for a plastic pistol.

If anyone wants to properly butcher a cockroach, Lemur King has a handy guide.

Jim Caviezal, definitely will not be going into the stocks for being an uppity Hollywood douche or crimes against entertainment, once you read it, his "friend" deserves some time in the stocks.  Seriously, Caviezel kicks ass.  A pro-choice "friend" challenged Caviezel to adopt a disabled child, and if he did he'd go pro-life, its an awesome story.

Global Warming is causing shark attacks!!!1!11eleventy!1

Is food supply going to catch up with the demand?

Okay, I hate to admit it, but I've been reading Plebian's "Saga" too, it really is funny and entertaining in a mildly self-deprecating way.  I was going to post them as a collection, but Jen at Demure Thoughts went ahead and did it herself, so I'll just link that.

Funneh.

Dell sucks.  I have a father and sister (who didn't want the stupid POS Dell, but that's what her school uses) who have enough horror stories about Dell that I'll never own one.

Dude.

Update on the vermin who killed the Philly PD Sgt.  They caught one, and are looking for the other(s?).  I agree with Wyatt, give the fuckers the needle.

You mean all those jokes about fighting off prostate cancer were for naught?

Turkish Sufis trying to establish moderate madrassas in Pakistan.

Japanese fish farmers creating fugu with the toxin bred out of them, chefs trained in proper butchering of the blowfish are worried that these farmed fish will put them out of work.

Fatass from Flint proactively borrows Michael Yon's famous picture from Iraq, Yon's attorney is on it now.

US Citizen shows off his new Barrett Rifle.  REALLY REALLY WANT!

Jeff at Protein Wisdom is gonna do another one of his Citizen Journalist bits, hopefully with some of the kooky fringe lefties at the Democrat Convention...no I'm not being redundant when I say fringe, I mean fringe by leftist standards, not by normal people standards.

Peel has her latest book review...there's asplodin' heads in it.

Cats who look like Wilford Brimley
