Yes, I miss him

Pres. Bush's inaugural Facebook address.

I'll set aside my Facebook loathing for this. I truly, deeply, from the bottom of my heart, hope that him sitting in front of that wall of books is an F.U. to Sir Paul.Yes, Mr. President, I miss you. More than I can say.

How do you say "tea" in Farsi?

Interesting, reading this article about the protestors in Iran in the Wash Post* reminds me a lot of the tea party movement, except for the murder of activists. Our gov't is just sending union thugs to beat us up, not kill us.

Like Ali, other Iranians interviewed expressed deep-rooted dissatisfaction that appeared to go far beyond discontent over last year's election results. Harsh complaints are routinely heard on public transportation, at family parties and in workplaces. Many middle-class Iranians, especially those in the capital, seem to feel as if the state is doing everything it can to antagonize them.

Let me rewrite that for American audiences.

Intellesting.

*I hate linking the Wash Post, I saw them screw the GOP with their macacca bullshit and try to torpedo McDonnell (current gov) with constant harping on some thesis he wrote in college like 20-some years ago.
Fucking lying, partisan sacks of shit.

I'm so confused...

I'm trying to get the timeline straight on this one...

Was he already wearing the mask and carrying the dildo, or did he get all fancied up just to bludgeon his neighbor?

Well, that didn't take long

Jerry Brown pretty much immediately went Godwin on GOP opponent Meg Whitman, and did it pretty stupidly to boot:

"It's like Goebbels," referring to Hitler's notorious Minister of Propaganda. "Goebbels invented this kind of propaganda. He took control of the whole world. She wants to be president. That's her ambition, the first woman president. That's what this is all about."
Now, I don't claim to bed a professional historian or anything, but I don't remember when exactly it was that Goebbels "took control of the whole world."

Oh, and of course, the comments comparing Whitman to an infamous Nazi were "taken out of context." Yeah.

Investment advice - tar and feathers

Seriously, the Obama Administration is actively trying to get The Masses riled up. Newest way? Eliminiating the mortgage interest deduction!

Let's see, this eliminates a big reason to own instead of rent.  That will press housing prices down more.  It's a win/win!

Look, I'm actually open to the idea of eliminating the deduction but it's considered untouchable for a freaking reason.  Telling homeowners that the mortgage interest deduction is getting eliminated in order to pay for Obamacare?  Good luck with that!

They're also calling on the SC GOP to expel the fucktard from the Party.  Awesome.  I hope the GOP does what needs done and drives this shitbag out.

Chris Matthews and Andrea Harris: ZOMG DA TEABAGGERS ARE GONNA GIT US!!!1!1eleventy!11!11!!1one!1

Chris Matthews and Andrea Harris reporting on the rise of the Tea Party Movement

Okay, so we have this breathless bit of stupidity from Matthews, where he has a brief clip of the Michigan Militia guys, and he equates them to the Tea Party at large,

Note that line starting at 1:47, where he says that the other scary thing about the Tea Partiers is that "the Supreme Court doesn't get the right to determine what is constitutional, they do, and they've got guns."  Matthews statement of course shows what an ignorant tool he is, as do all his statements, but this is extraordinarily dumb and lazy, even by his standards.  It also demonstrates the divide we face, whether it be ignorance or malice on his part.

The Constitution and Constitutional rights are not something the government grants to us, it is not a contract between government and people, it is simply something that the government acknowledges that we already have, which is of course terrifying to the left, and Chris Matthews and Andrea Mitchell.  They're being more and more honest about the authoritarian scum they are.  This is not a bad thing.

Stupid question time

Isn't this really a case of "All blacks look alike"?  I can understand the teabagging racist gunblogger thinking that this guy looked like Obama, since he's probably never even seen a person of color up close, but you'd think the hip-hop forum would have a clue.

Boy howdy there are those who really want there to be open revolution aren't there?

The evidence sure points that way.

That crazy paranoid idea that the government is coming after private pensions? Well, it's hard to be paranoid when they're really out to get you.

Seriously, I'm starting to believe those who think that Obama et al are bound and determined for there to be rioting in the streets.  Also?  With my current personal circumstances, I'm finding it incredibly difficult to comprehend why I should bother trying to work and save and be responsible.  It certainly doesn't seem like that's going to be rewarded.

Boy, that Sarah Palin sure is a Christianist bigot who hates gays

Though you sure wouldn't know it from listening to this interview with 100% out lesbian talk show host Tammy Bruce. Innarestingly enough, Bruce's sexuality never comes up. The only reason I know that she's a lesbian is that she's a talk show fixture here in the L.A. area and isn't afraid to talk about any aspect of her life.

Is it just me...

...or does this seem a tad (and I'm not even sure this is the right word) inappropriate?

I mean, it's a weird concept to begin with, but when they dragged the wounded soldier past and he mentions "a snip here, a stitch there," was I the only one who cringed a little?

You Want A Disclaimer? Here's One For You

Apparently, some publishing house felt the need to put a disclaimer on their copies of some of this nation's founding documents.

Wilder Publications warns readers of its reprints of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, Common Sense, the Articles of Confederation, and the Federalist Papers, among others, that “This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today.”

The disclaimer goes on to tell parents that they "might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written before allowing them to read this classic work."

Obviously, these fools need to be briefed on the Constitution by the greatest scholar ever:

Oh, and I have a disclaimer as well and a message to the publishing house:

Iran says "Fuck You" to latest round of sanctions

Where is John Bolton's moustache when you need it?

Iran said it would end diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis over its nuclear program after the Security Council on Wednesday imposed a fourth round of sanctions to persuade Tehran to stop enriching uranium.
Why is it we're relying on the UN to put pressure on Iran?  I can't recall that there's been anything the UN has done effectively, unless you count rape and pillage among their successes.
