I can't help but wonder...

...if this guy had participated in an ad for the other side, would there be any "outrage" or even "controversy"?

Just kidding.  There's no reason to wonder about it at all.  Nobody (well, nobody who matters, anyway) would have said a thing.

Today's STFU Award Goes To...

This guy. (Sorry for the Huffpo Link)

First Big Business, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, the Religious Right, the Wall Street Journal, Mitch McConnell, and Karl Rove came for ACORN, and the Democrats did not speak out -- because they were not ACORN.

Then they came for SEIU, and the Democrats did not speak out -- because they were not SEIU.

Then they came for the Apollo Alliance, and the Democrats did not speak out -- because they were not the Apollo Alliance. Then they came for the Center for American Progress, and the Democrats did not speak out -- because they were not the Center for American Program.

And on, and on, and on...

*Sigh* Hey Professor Fuckface Q Assfister, is that the best you can do? Rehashing Godwin's Law? That officially means you and your merry band of losers have lost this debate, and can only resort to the cheapest and most unoriginal of analogies. I award you no points, and may G-d have mercy on your soul.

Oh, and one more thing. I recall my old High School Latin Days, and for some reason, I feel like stealing this section from Catullus 16, just for you:

Ohio Politics Can Be Rough. And Cross Dress-y

Yeah, this would liven up any mayoral debate, even in East Cleveland.

A local mayor is having a lot of explaining to do today after photos, supposedly of him in drag, surfaced and are now spreading like wildfire.

East Cleveland mayor Eric Brewer will probably never be seen in the same light again after the incriminating photos surfaced. Originally aired on WKYC Channel 3 News, the story has become quite a hot topic in Northeast Ohio. While a lot of people are laughing, Mayor Brewer is not.

The mayor has taken some very strong actions and has made some extremely bold claims regarding the leaking of the photos. Brewer is involved in a primary mayoral election and has blasted political opponent Gary Norton, blaming him for the pictures seeing the light of day. If this allegation is true, this is politics at its mud-slinging worst. Norton denies he had anything to do with the photos being released to the media, also stating that he disapproves of the photos and that anyone could be responsible because, according to him, Brewer has made many enemies during his political career.

Yeah, I would say so.

Thanks

New Jersey 'burbs being overrun by wild turkeys

Guess that whole demonizing gun owners and hunters thing isn't working out for you, is it?  For those confused, New Jersey doesn't really get this whole wildlife management thing, they've successfully increased wildlife populations in the state through conservation, but because the state is full of liberal yuppies, they don't like that icky hunting thing and tend to restrict it, and now have wild animals pushing into the 'burbs in search of food and territory, and they don't know how to react or deal with them.  And I'm not faulting the lady in the video for not knowing how to deal with the turkeys, either, given what I'm guessing her ethnic and religious background is.  That doesn't excuse the state's stupidity and poor wildlife management.

If nothing else, Jersey is next to us here in PA, where we have a back'n'forth with Texas over who is the huntinest state in the union (I think we're winning now, suck it Texas!), hell, we've got plenty of hunters in PA who'd be happy to help them bring down their wild game populations.

Russian arms manufacturers MiG and Izhevsk both looking at bankruptcy

MiG is looking to restructure and merge with several other Russian aircraft manufacturers in reorganization, MiG is of course famous for their fighter jets.  Ishevsk or Izhmash is also looking at bankruptcy, one of their main suppliers is owed over $13 million US.  Ishevsk is the manufacturer of most of Russia's small arms, most famously the Kalashnikov series of rifles, and is one of the largest weapons manufacturers in the world.  Their largest problem is that the AK is easy to produce and manufacture, so they have all these former Soviet Bloc nations and Soviet-allied Third World states producing them at a much lower cost then they are, and the AK was never patented, so they usually aren't seeing royalties on it either.

Members of elite British army regiment - Coldstream Guards - get their asses handed to them by a 5'3" Canadian woman in a red satin dress

VANCOUVER — A petite Vancouver woman is being sought by an English court after she wiped the floor with a collection of Britain’s premier soldiers — the Coldstream Guards — during a brawl at a Christmas party in the guardsmen’s barracks last December.

Ashley Wolfe, 24, was tried in absentia this week at Woolwich Magistrates Court in London after failing to appear on two charges of assault — one involving a soldier’s wife, the other a sergeant she knocked cold with one punch.

Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. I can't really think of anyway this could be funnier. Well maybe if they were wearing the big furry hats when she punched them out, or if the Queen was watching. Other than that nope this is just about perfect. Someone please have a youtube video of this.

Oh noes!

It looks like The One is losing The Twat*.  Who's next?  Kathleen?  Peggy?  Captain Pant-crease?

It's okay, Barry, I'm sure the thrill isn't gone from Chris Matthews' leg.  You'll always have the leg.

Freaking Amazing

I heard about this lady on NPR today. She is the winner of Ukraine's Got Talent for 2009. A sand artist, in this clip she tells the story of Ukraine's occupation by the Nazis from 1941 to 1945. An occupation in which 25% of the population was killed. I am not a super-sentimental person but I was almost in tears when it was over.

Dummy Harry

Some idjit police officer holding a UK "gun awareness" class for emergency workers, decided to load up a .44 magnum revolver the police keep as an example (they kept blanks and real cartridges in the same box, unmarked of course) and then fired it at one of the emergency workers...

Uh, yeah, not a blank,

The bullet hit Keith Tilbury, 51, causing devastating injuries, Southwark Crown Court in London was told.

Mr Tilbury underwent five hours of life-saving surgery for an “exploded” bowel and kidney, as well as lung and liver damage. He was unconscious for 12 days and has not returned to work.

Hadn't returned to work, you say?  Please tell me that's dry British humor that's passing over my ignorant 'murican head, dude is damn lucky to even be alive at this point.  And I'm not gonna fault the idjits who had the blanks and live ammunition mixed together either, though they're stupid too, the officer shouldn't have pointed the revolver at someone, even if it was loaded with blanks, or completely unloaded for that matter.

I've been good. I totally haven't smote all those that need smiting. I *deserve* this.

James Traficant (he's out of jail btw) is saying he's going to run for Congress again. His platform? Repeal the income tax.

I know, I know it's MSNBC but the Traficanty goodness makes up for that.

For the record, I've always loved Traficant. He was completely upfront about being a flake.

Batting your eyelashes and shaking your ass at Ahmadinejad isn't going to make him open his nuke factory to you, Obama

I'm sure President Obama is viewing this as an opportunity to show the world what Bush and the UN could have accomplished if they would have just shown a little more patience and understanding with the Iraqi inspections.

President Obama, along with the leaders of Britain and France, demanded Friday that Iran immediately allow international weapons monitors to inspect a nuclear facility the Islamic Republic acknowledges it has been secretly building for years.

Obama, joined by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the opening of the G-20 economic summit in Pittsburgh, warned Iran that it will be "held accountable" to an impatient world community if it does not fully disclose its nuclear ambitions.

"Iran has the right for peaceful power, but the size of the facility is inconsistent with a peaceful program," Obama said. "Iran is breaking rules that all nations must follow, endangering the world non-nuclear proliferation regime ... and the security of the world."

I'm getting my popcorn ready - either Ahmadinejad is going to comply (not bloody likely) or he isn't, and I'm eagerly awaiting Obama's response when Ahmadinejad doesn't bend to his stunning smile and his six-pack abs.
