The Mad Mullah Photoshop Experiment Is Back

And it sucks as much ass as always.

Somebody needs to tell the Mullahs that "clone tool" is so 2006.

The Next Time You Shop For A Wedding Dress

Just make sure this guy isn't around.

The 35-year-old man threw a flower pot at the glass door of the bridal shop in the Bavarian town of Wildflecken, police reported Wednesday.

The burglar rummaged through the racks, apparently finding nothing suitable. He fled the scene but had been cut by glass shards when he broke the glass doors.

Police were able to track him down by following the trail of blood he left. The police could not explain why the man was unclothed.

I could make a joke about Rosetta going on a shopping spree, but I'll pass for now.

This is what bravery looks like

Conor Friedersdorf, lazy, dishonorable wanker

The Other McCain looks at Conor Friedersdorf, who is working hard to be the latest token "conservative" attack dog for the left.  Friedersdorf tried to make a name for himself in conservative circles, failed, so is now deploying the Frum/Parker strategy, and seeing some success.  Friedersdorf gained attention by attacking talk radio, so I'm guessing that's what he'll devote himself to now that he's landed a writing gig for the Gay Gossip and Anti-Semitic Newsletter The Atlantic.

Another Iran video

Again, purported to be but not verified that it is currently from Iran.

The vid claims that the Basiji are shooting at civilians. Basiji are Iranian volunteer paramilitary that are subordinate to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

In other words, they're a civilian corps.

Update: another vid, purportedly of nighttime home raids.

Hope and Change (well, not so much of the latter)

The Obama administration is apparently fighting CREW to keep lists of visitors to the White House confidential, a policy that goes back to 2006. Now, I don't really disagree with the administration's position here, especially where national security is concerned, but check out White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs continuing to make noted imbecile Scott McClellan look like an oratorical genius:

"The goal is, and I think the president underscored his commitment to transparency on his first full day in office," Gibbs said. "This is not a contest between this administration or that administration or any administration. It's to uphold the principle of open government."
Um, yeah, see, the administration you work for has consistently tried to paint itself as more transparent than the eeeeeevil Chimpy McBu$hitler regime while, at the same time, quietly keeping a lot of the same policies of that administration. The very same policies Obama decried while he was out on the stump. Funny, that.

Like I said, I don't really disagree with the policy, but this smacks of rank hypocrisy. You can't have it both ways. Well, unless you've got most of the MSM eating out of your hand.

A late D-Day tribute

I figured we could use a little positivity and remembering that there is good in the world, given the nature of the news today.  I thought about titling this "A tribute to back when America had a pair of brass ones" but I'm hoping Muslihoon's thoughts on why Obama is sitting out are accurate.

One of the commenters at another site I frequent posted the following picture.

I harassed some information about it out of him:
Best proof I got is the video of the jump as I was jumping. The image gets blurry because the opening shock of my chute opening broke the camera, but you can at least see watch as I jump from the C-130J onto Iron Mike1 drop zone in St. Mere Eglise at 1200 feet above ground at 20 knot winds. It was raining when I got on the plane, stopped raining before I jumped and started raining again after I landed. I got my senior rated parachutist wings pinned on me by a 87 year old vet who jumped on D'day and had 3 combat jumps.
Vid below the fold so as to not completely wreck the dude's photobucket account, along with a couple of absolutely beautiful pictures he emailed me.  Eddge, thanks for sharing the pictures and vid, and thank you so much for your service.

But of course: Vichy Republicans moving to sell us out on Obamacare

Perhaps I spoke too soon as far as Obamacare passing or not.  If the GOP leadership doesn't want ousted en masse or swallowed up by a new party, they better put an end to this shit immediately.  A failure to stop Obamacare would be the last straw.

The video below the fold is reportedly from the Iran protests. I do not have direct confirmation on this. Here's the note from the torrent:

Thanks, Sen. Ensign...

...for having an extra-marital affair.  Now we know what he was up to in 2008 when he was supposed to be finding winning candidates as head of the NRSC.

Update:  Here is a link to an actual story.  It's worse and more Gavin Newsome-esque than originally thought.  The woman he cheated on his wife with was a campaign staffer married to someone who worked in his Senate office.

Not that I would EVER advocate participating in a DDOS

Update: "Karroubi, Mousavi, get my vote back"

I would never ever ever advocate or suggest participation in a DDOS. Which is why I'm not going to tell you that there's a handy Firefox extension called ReloadEvery, which will allow you to refresh a page automatically every five seconds.

I also won't mention that some of the resistance in Iran has requested lots and lots and lots of visits to the following sites, at least until cell phone and internet service has been restored:
http://www.khamenei.ir/
http://www.iribnews.ir/
http://www.irib.ir/

Update: and here's another site you absolutely shouldn't leave open in your browser while you go have a cup of coffee, since DDOS attacks are wrong wrong wrong.

Another update: vid below the fold. Graphic content.

Medical Workers in Tehran Protest Violent Protest Deaths

They know the truth about the basij. No, I don't understand it, but there is some interpretation on the sidebar of the video, explaining about the injured and death count.  The videos on YouTube are overwhelming.  My heart breaks for them all and I admire their courage and fortitude.

It's funny because it's true!

90% of waking hours spent staring at glowing rectangles.

Personally, I think 90% is a bit of an underestimate.

Also, heh.

Great Moments In Marital Bliss

If this guy wasn't dead or missing before, he will be after this.

A man reported missing by his wife last week was located Saturday. But he says he wasn't missing -- just following his wife's wishes to go away.

William Peterson told police he and his wife had an argument and she told him to get out. So, Peterson spent the week fishing and camping in Bend.

His wife, Pam Peterson, said that the argument with her husband happened months ago, and that she forgot about telling her husband he could always leave. Apparently, her husband had not forgotten, she said.

Now Cornelius Police are missing the money spent on trying to find Peterson, at his wife's request. That makes them the unhappy party of the third part.

But. But. But. I Thought Obama Was Going To Give Everybody Health Insurance! And That It Would Be Awesome!

Well, maybe not.

According to our preliminary assessment, enacting the proposal would result in a net increase in federal budget deficits of about $1.0 trillion over the 2010-2019 period. When fully implemented, about 39 million individuals would obtain coverage through the new insurance exchanges. At the same time, the number of people who had coverage through an employer would decline by about 15 million (or roughly 10 percent), and coverage from other sources would fall by about 8 million, so the net decrease in the number of people uninsured would be about 16 million or 17 million.

Wait! Assume that 47 or 48 million are uninsured. That leaves roughly 30 million still unisured.  Hmmm....

These new figures do not represent a formal or complete cost estimate for the draft legislation, for several reasons. The estimates provided do not address the entire bill—only the major provisions related to health insurance coverage. Some details have not been estimated yet, and the draft legislation has not been fully reviewed. Also, because expanded eligibility for the Medicaid program may be added at a later date, those figures are not likely to represent the impact that more comprehensive proposals—which might include a significant expansion of Medicaid or other options for subsidizing coverage for those with income below 150 percent of the federal poverty level—would have both on the federal budget and on the extent of insurance coverage.

Oh boy. This should be good.

A contrarian viewpoint on the Obama Administration's reaction to the Iran situation

Most conservatives are arguing Obama should be more aggressive in voicing opposition to Ahmadinejad and the state crackdown on protesters.  Muslihoon, and I respect his opinion on Mideast and Islam issues greatly, sees it differently, and suggests that Obama's squishy statements may actually be the best thing here.  Worth reading.  It has me rethinking going after Obama and his squishiness here.

Jimmy Carter is asking Obama to remove Hamas from the list of terrorist organizations.  Carter's been slobbing jihad knob for years now, send his ass to Gaza and make him stay.  So, yeah, it's facecock time*, Jimmah,

Matt Yglesias: Voice Of The Democrat Party

How does one of the leading thinkers on the left view Ahmadinejad?

Why, as a classic "Right Winger", of course.

Ahmadinejad is in most ways a classic right-winger, a demagogic nationalist and cultural conservative. In a manner somewhat reminiscent of a Sarah Palin, however, he clothes this right-wing politics in a language of class resentment, painting his more pragmatic and reformist opponents as decadent elites out of touch with ordinary people. Unlike the populists of the American right, however, he merges this rhetoric with something resembling an actual populist economic agenda. The main element has been the use of oil revenue to expand the state sector of the economy in an attempt to distribute wealth more broadly throughout the country. This approach has gained Ahmadinejad a loyal following among the rural poor and public employees, but Iran’s objective economic performance has been disappointing, even during the great oil boom years.

Yeah, except that whole "distraction" about Israel needing to go away, he's a classic "Palinite".

Sheesh.
