Some Internet commentary even refers to Roeder as a "Christian terrorist." Let's see: Christian, pro-gun, anti-government, pro-life. Sounds like a Republican, right? Oh, and he's suspected of being an assassin. Connect them dots. No, it isn't fair. The GOP can't control who joins the party, and Republicans don't have a corner on random crazies. But what the Democrats have that the Republicans lack is a moderating voice to neutralize the party's more strident characters. While Democrats have Obama, Republicans are stuck with the squeakiest wheel du jour.
I'd ask where you were for the last eight years of BDS, assassination fantasies, and "random crazies", but, oh, that's right, you were hanging out with your MSM buddies. Sure, nobody actually pulled the trigger, but I'm not picturing many mourners at your DC cocktail parties had someone done so.
Also, nice to see that you're still crushing on Barry. You should invite David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, and Christopher Buckley over for a slumber party.
Oh, and take a guess as to which incident gets nary a mention in her column. None of the "more strident characters" on the left might have had an influence on that, Kathleen, would they?

Interviewed by agents in January of last year, Mr. Drew said he was instructed to take five computer hard drives to another Capitol office and erase them with a large magnet. Mr. Drew said he was told by Steve Keefer, then the director of the office, "that the process would clean the hard drives so they could be reused. Drew explained to [state investigators] that it is his personal belief that a magnet as strong as the one he used would completely destroy a hard drive, leaving it useless to anyone."
So what is Bonusgate? Basically, you have a bunch of Democrats who work as a PA state employee for a few months during the year, they then leave to work as Democrat campaign workers during the election season. Then when they would go back to work as part of the state, Democrats in the PA legislature would give these people big bonuses for their state jobs as reward for their work during the campaigns. Beyond that, some of these state employees may have been using their state positions as campaigning offices.
In reaction to this breaking story, John Murtha held a press conference to condemn the Democrats in the PA legislature as quote, "...a bunch of fucking amateurs."

In addition to increased inspections, the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket) also plans on utilizing isotope analysis to expose suspected cases of strawberry fraud.
In recent years, there have been an increasing number of reports in the Swedish press about imported strawberries being packaged and sold as authentic Swedish strawberries.
While the Board of Agriculture has never come across a confirmed case of the alleged strawberry fraud, the agency is taking no chances in its efforts to protect Swedish consumers.
The agriculture board announced on Tuesday it plans to dispatch more than 20 inspectors tasked with taking a closer look at the strawberries lining the shelves in stores, street markets, and roadside stands all across the country.
After inspecting the berries’ packaging and invoices, inspectors then call up growers to confirm that appropriate prices are being charged.
Suspicious strawberries are confiscated, then sent to a lab in Germany which in turn performs an isotope analysis to determine the origins of the berries by cross-referencing them with samples of guaranteed Swedish strawberries.
“Customers are faithful in their purchases and buy Swedish. The consumer has the right to make an informed choice,†said Susanne Görsberg from the Agriculture Board’s trade and marketing division, to the TT news agency.

Looks like John Kerry still has some nagging tax issues from his 2004 Presidential Run.
"The IRS contacted us last year about data they lost from the 2004 campaign," Smith said. "We gladly resubmitted all the forms needed to fill in the gaps, end of story."
Smith said the Kerry camp was surprised to learn the IRS had filed a tax lien based on the disputed W-2 payroll forms.
The IRS filed the lien earlier this year in the District of Columbia, saying it had tried to collect the money previously from the Kerry campaign.
"We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid," according to the IRS tax lien.

I was just barely a stupid teenager then, and I knew next to nothing about international politics, but I had watched the demonstrations on CNN (which wasn't then the joke that it is today) but I knew that the people gathered in Beijing were fighting for their freedom. When I saw what was happening to the people there, when the troops and the tanks moved in and the whole thing disintegrated into a bloody mess, well, I cried. I knew that something horrible had happened to people who were standing up for something that they believed in. I knew that something horrible had happened. Even though I was ignorant of the evils of communisim at the time, I knew that it was wrong.

When my boy was three, we were watching Sin City on DVD while he took a nap. We didn't realize he'd woken up until we heard him cracking up from the stairs at a decapitated head bouncing down the street.
The point I'm trying to make is, just because your kid thinks it's funny doesn't mean it's something he needs to be watching.

I suppose the question is, is Obama behaving this way out of a love of Islam or out of a hatred of Israel?

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court has invalidated the famous abortion decision on the ground that it was judged entirely by inferior, white, male judges:
"In light of recent revelations about the judicial ability of white males, it really would be irresponsible to allow this ruling to stand," explained Chief Justice Roberts. He continued, "We're still concerned that we're not qualified to make these decisions being mostly white males but we were assured that we have achieved the correct percentage of minorities and women on the court to reach empathetic quorum. Hopefully a future court comprised entirely by Latina women will revise our decision using their super awesome wisdom."
Of course, this was not the only decision effected. Every Supreme Court decision before 1967 has been invalidated and awaits further review by a more diverse panel of jurists.
"We're not even sure that we should be using the Constitution as a guide anymore," said a frazzled Justice Alito, "I mean, it was written by a bunch of white males, too. It really is amazing the inferiority of their decision-making went unexposed for this long."

Free M-16s from the military for your police officers to use? No thanks, says Boston Mayor Tom Menino.
Boston Mayor Tom Menino said Friday he will not approve a police department plan to put semiautomatic M-16 rifles in the hands of regular patrol officers. But Menino says he's open to giving them to "specialized units."
The police recently obtained 200 M-16s free of charge from the U.S. military and had planned to give them to dozens of officers for their patrols after training them to use the rifles.
However, some community leaders criticized the lack of public notice and questioned the reasoning behind arming district officers with M-16s when the city's SWAT team already has such weapons.
Seriously, why not let more police officers have more weapons than just a service pistol? Especially since the rifles were free of charge.
[doubleplusundead] I saw this story too, I'm guessing they have more than service pistols, most police departments have 12 gauge shotguns issued to officers, too. Obviously the Boston PD is hosed because Massachusetts is anti-gun and the community activists have spoken. There's definitely a case to be made for a patrol rifle, and it would have been nice if the Boston PD would have gotten freebies to use, but failing that, what about alternatives?
I was thinking about it last night and thought something like a Marlin 336 could be a good choice for a police patrol rifle. It'd be enough punch for almost anything a police officer would need. Lever rifles are fairly friendly to left handers, and it definitely would take up less room. Given the political atmosphere in Massachusetts, the fact that they don't have the scaaawy look of an AR pattern rifle is a plus. They would probably be a bit easier to maintain, and probably has about the same rate of fire as a standard police issue shotgun. Admittedly, a Marlin lever rifle isn't as tacticool as an AR, but if the Boston PD really wants and needs a patrol rifle, I don't think that'd be a bad alternative choice.

The president adamantly opposed health benefit taxes during the campaign, arguing they would undermine job-based coverage, and he criticized Republican presidential rival John McCain for proposing a sweeping version of the same basic idea.Of course, this will only apply to people making more than $250K per year. Yeah.

"Will you join the Republican National Committee by making a contribution today?
Yes (check an amount)
Yes I support the RNC, but I am unable to participate at this time. However I have enclosed $12 to cover the cost of tabulating my survey
No I favor electing liberal democrats over the next 10 years.
This is it? As Chad says, where's your fucking plan, geniuses? Is this your plan? This sort of offhand threat? If I didn't know any better I'd say the GOP favors electing liberal Democrats over the next 10 years. The GOP is fucking useless.

The D.C. City Council has decided that a 5 cent fee on disposable bags will save the world (or, at least the Anacostia River). Who knew it was that easy, right?
I can say one thing, I'm not headed across the Anacostia regardless of the plastic bag situation. I've gone 27 years without getting shot and I'd like to keep that streak going.
