Some advice you Morons can use.  Though, know that I think about it, all y'all are probably the major contributors.

Once More Into The Breach Go I.

As I head out for another day of dealing with the problems with my house, here are a few points to consider.

Many Democrats seem willing to go down with the ship, and threats of losing an office seem to have no impact. In fact, many of them seem content to play the "Profiles In Courage" angle. I wonder if Obama did indeed promise jobs to all of these vulnerable Democrats.

And, more Democrat "tolerance" on display at a Palin Book Signing.

And, is Andrew Sullivan also an anti-Semite?

I'm outta here. See you later.

A Helmund Awakening? (with special Anna Semenovich goodness added)

I am one of those who believes that the success of the Iraq surge can be replicated in Afghanistan. Usually when I share that view with others I am shouted down, but last night I was discussing the issue with my sister-in-laws brother, who has served a number of tours there most recently commanding 100 Afghans as a CTT trainer, and he and I are in agreement. Afghanistan is winnable but one of the things that needs to happen is an Anbar style awakening. Imagine my surprise when I saw this article this morning:

Anti-Taliban militias arise in Afghanistan

U.S. and Afghan officials have begun helping a number of anti-Taliban militias that have independently taken up arms against insurgents in several parts of Afghanistan, prompting hopes of a large-scale tribal rebellion against the Taliban.
Obviously it is too early to declare this a success and say victory is imminent but it is a hopeful sign and if the additional troops Gen. McChrystal has requested are added to the mix I think we may get back on track.

Sully Loves Pot

And creamy loads, but I digress.

Ever since the dipshit got busted with pot he's been pushing how awesome and great marijuana is constantly on his site.  Today he had some fucking chart showing (among other things) how much tax money we'd make on pot.

That.  Is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.  I guarantee you we'd make exactly zero dollars on marijuana and, were I the type of person who believes in conspiracy theories, I'd suspect that is the reason it was made illegal in the first place.

Why won't we make any tax money on pot?

BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T NEED TO FUCKIN BUY IT.

They'll grow their own.  Look, growing marijuana isn't like growing tobacco or even a fucking tomato.  It is not called "weed" for no reason.  That fucking shit will grow anywhere whether you want it to or not.  A few weeks after it was made legal everyone that wanted it would have a fucking forest of the shit in their back yard (leaving aside the likelihood that a serious pot user would own a house...).

Argue that the law enforcement is ridiculous or that it costs too much money but seriously, put the revenue argument away.  Besides the fact that its bullshit, just think how much money we could make if we legalized and taxed prostitution.  Or human slavery?  Just because we could make money is not even remotely a solid argument for it.

And of course, Sully makes the argument because there is nothing a liberal needs more than to justify his personal behavior through the extension of his proclivities into law.

The Ft. Hood terrorist attack is our fault

And by "our," Robert Wright (Warning: link goes to NYT, but you should read it for a peek into the typical leftist mind) means American foreign policy in general and conservatives (natch) in particular.

Keep fucking that chicken, Bob.

Breaking News - FAA Computer Outage Resulted From Purposeful Shutdown So A Nuclear Missle Could Be Fired At Denver

This is complicated so bear with me.

Apparently Obama is engaged in a secret war against the CIA, Federal Reserve, and G-20 globalists who along with the Bush-Cheney Drug Cartel are attempting to establish a New World Order.  The shutdown of the FAA computer system the week was done on purpose to allow forces loyal to President Obama to launch a nuclear attack on the Denver International Airport.  This airport is apparently a secret evacuation center for the NWO elite established so they can escape after the fall of the US occurs.

At this point it appears Obama is winning.

How did I not know about this war?  Thank God Sorcha Faal is here to inform me about such things because apparently the vast right wing conspiracy isn't going to.  Now I have to decide who to root for the CIA / Federal Reserve / Bush Cheney Drug Cartel or Obama and the forces of good.

Smoking voids your Mac warranty

Everybody knows smoking is cool, and owning a Mac is cool, but don't smoke around your Mac or you might void your warranty.

Apple views the smoke residue as a biohazard and an OSHA violation, so they won't fix your computer.

I'm a PC.  (And a non-smoker, except for the occasional cigar.)

Because all the cool kids are doing it

(See what I did there?)

I haven't had the chance to go through the AGW emails due to having to go to bed early last night to get up at ass o'clock to catch a plane this morning, but even my brief perusal reveals that there could be some major, major problems for those who wrote the emails.

It definitely appears that emails that were subject to FOIA disclosure were deleted.  The purposeful deletion of those emails may subject the one deleting to criminal penalties.  And it sure as hell looks like there was a discussion about getting rid of those emails.  In which case, helllllloooooo nurse, we have ourselves a good old fashioned conspiracy.

Frankly, the discussions about data manipulation don't surprise me.  That the data was being massaged has been apparent for years, even to a statistics idiot such as myself.  I am a bit surprised that those involved were idiotic enough to put it in writing but maybe I shouldn't be.  The tone of the emails makes clear that the choir was being preached to long and loud.

I'm interested to know if anyone is going to bother cross checking these emails against Congressional testimony to see if just maybe Hansen might have some 'splaining to do.  I'm not hopeful though that would fill me with glee.

Friday Night WTF

This will probably only be funny if you've seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall.  And I'm going to guess that the only people here who've seen FSM are chicks, Vinty, and those men with teeny enough cojones that their wives choose their movies for them.

When does it become cruel to notice this stuff?

Via the Agitator we find a story that could be the one that will cause historians to say, "This is the end of Great Britain".
Quote
Health and safety inspectors are to be given unprecedented access to family homes to ensure that parents are protecting their children from household accidents.
... and other public sector bodies to “collect data” on properties where children are thought to be at “greatest risk of unintentional injury”.
Council staff will then be tasked with overseeing the installation of safety devices in homes, including smoke alarms, stair gates, hot water temperature restrictors, oven guards and window and door locks.

Unbeleivabile! The government is going to mandate how hot your water can be if you have kids.
They're done, stick a fork in them.

(Insert title here)

Okay, I'm officially torn on this. (very annoying ad watch).
According to a military official, detainees at a Wisconsin National Guard camp in Iraq are using Brett Favre as a manner of getting at the guard troops there.
"They know Favre by name," said First Lieutenant Tim Boehnen, who is from New Richmond, Wis.

The soldiers decorated the base in Packer's colors and now the jihadis they're guarding are scoring points on them using Favre.

How should I feel?
On the one hand, it's freaking hysterical. I've been doing the same thing.
On the other hand, it's jihadis doing it. Or at least detainees.
Hmmm, that makes it funny and endy. The Funniest End of Civilization Ever strikes again.

Iowahawk (where I saw this) has some news from the midwest about the reaction.
Green Bay, WI - Like a pot of bratwurst left unattended at a Lambeau Field pregame party, simmering tensions in the strife-torn Midwest boiled over once again today as rioting mobs of green-and-gold clad youth and plump farm wives rampaged through Wisconsin Denny’s and IHOPs, burning Texas toast and demanding apologies and extra half-and-half.

Holy crap, just when I think people can't surprise me with how evil they are, I find out they can.

Peruvian police have arrested a gang which allegedly killed scores of peasants, drained their bodies of fat and sold the liquid abroad as an anti-wrinkle cosmetic

WTF?
They also claim there are 3 more gangs doing it. They get $tens of thousands/gallon jug of human fat.

That's about sick.

I ain't going to Peru anytime soon, that's for sure. I'm worth $millions.

Harry Reid just sunk Obamacare

There's no way the health care nationalization bill will get bicameral support now - Nancy will shoot it down.

The $848 billion health care bill unveiled Wednesday by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), includes a 5 percent tax on cosmetic procedures and surgeries.
I tried to find statistics for what percentage of plastic surgeons fund pro bono work from their cosmetic practices, but all I found was a bunch of posts on Yahoo Answers asking how to find doctors who perform pro bono breast augmentation.

Software Developers Rejoice!

If you're anything like me, you've been consistently frustrated by the fact that the only place you can buy indulgences in the modern world relate to carbon dioxide.  As a programmer I often think, wouldn't it be great if I could spend money to be forgiven for all the bad code I've written in my life?

Well, if you feel the same way, wait no longer!

I have never written a bad line of code.

When I tell people that, they often scoff and offer replies like “so you’re not a programmer then?” and “let me guess, you’re a coding deity or something?” Well let me say, I am a programmer and I am not Codethulu, but in the same manner that Al Gore can fly around the world in a private jet without polluting, I have negated my bad code footprint through the purchase of Bad Code Offsets.

Get yours today and become a flawless programmer!  This is going to look so good on my resume!
