The song was pulled “because it had the word Christmas in it,†said Rick Holliday, assistant school superintendent.A Jewish mother, who didn't want her name published, objected to what she called "religious overtones" in the song. So the principal agreed to pull it from the program.
I'll leave it to you to click on the link to find out what the offending song was.

President George W. Bush bestowed Presidential Citizen Medals on a figure from the Watergate scandal, the librarian of Congress and the actor known as Lieutenant Dan in the 1994 Academy Award-winning movie "Forrest Gump".I've been impressed for a long time with Gary Sinise's unapologetic conservatism, his putting his money where his mouth is, and his ability to turn a mediocre TV franchise into something halfway worth watching. He never embarrasses his party or his viewers by putting us in a situation where someone might be uncomfortable watching him because they can't get past the stupid things said at their last presser (*cough cough* ninety percent of Hollywood *cough cough*).

DPUD was ranked #24 in Right Wing News' list of the top 40 conservative blogs for 2008. We ranked higher than smart people blogs like The Next Right, Power Line, Hugh Hewitt, and Jihad Watch.
Thanks, John!

If so, I merely call it "Tuesday Night".
Police say a man damaged five vehicles and urinated on other cars at the Volkswagen dealership.
A suspect was arrested after a bystander called Halton police. No clear motive has been determined for the attack.
“He was not a customer,†said Sgt. Brian Carr. “This was not directed at the dealership. It was just a random act.â€
He added there are no signs that drugs, alcohol or mental health problems are connected to the case.
Police say a man drove into the dealership and rammed vehicles with his 2007 Mazda pickup truck, then drove through the front entrance way and began urinating on other parked vehicles.
He returned to his truck, grabbed a bottle of champagne and a glass and climbed onto the truck’s roof.
While there, the man was observed committing an indecent act and proceeded to throw objects at a witness.
Police arrived and arrested a suspect without incident.

It’s the individualistic states, where there is an ethos that encourages people to be out for themselves, where corruption most easily takes root, argue some political scientists. Just look at the states that make up the group: “That’s the corruption rogues gallery,†says Colgate University political science professor Michael Johnston. “Every state has its own flavor,†he says, “but they all have a very high level of risk for corruption.â€I got it, I got it. States that are seen as valuing moral behavior are bad, New Jersey and Illinois are good. Because of the hypocrisy. It's amazing what you can find out when you read Politico articles designed to portray Illinois politics as, like, totally clean. But the regional theory has one big flaw: The most corrupt states aren’t in the “individualistic†part of the country.
In 2007, the publication Corporate Crime Reporter crunched Department of Justice statistics to rank the 35 most populous states of the nation by corruption. The top three? Louisiana, Mississippi and Kentucky – which can be better thought of as broadly representing the “moralistic†states. Illinois didn’t even break the top five, coming in sixth on the list

Nooooooooooooooo. Like all true Americans, I hate the fucking Yankees. My only hope is that he'll totally fail. Or, like, start dating Madonna or something.
I wish I had a cat to kick.

Spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, then blot dry.(h/t)
Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo. The alcohol cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hair, and stimulates the growth of healthy hair.
To cure foot odor, wash your feet with vodka.

While the state is wallowing in a $28 billion deficit over the next 18 months, newly-elected lawmakers got new cars. From $32,000 hybrids to $46,000 Cadillacs, their new rides will cost taxpayers an estimated $1.3 million. It is a perk included lawmakers' six-figure salaries.
"The California Legislature has the highest-paid members in the country. So they're very well compensated. So I think a threshold question is whether or not they should even get any car allowance or cars at all," said Jon Coupal of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
Lawmakers also get their gasoline and maintenance paid for by the state.
Can someone please remind me again why I still live here?

The 30-bed Hau Sheng Hospital in Yuanlin in central Taiwan is reportedly the world's first Hello Kitty themed medical establishment.Does this mean that they have Hello Kitty bedpans, too? Because I think I'd be alright with something like that. From blankets and birth certificates to cots and uniforms worn by staff, every aspect of the Hello Kitty hospital is emblazoned with the feline motif.
Patients are welcomed by a statue of Hello Kitty dressed in a doctor's uniform, before travelling in a Hello Kitty elevator to a pink examination room with Hello Kitty posters on the wall.

While Wurzelbacher was critical of McCain during the interview, he had nothing but praise for his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. “Sarah Palin is absolutely the real deal,†he said.Oh, and he also stuck with the campaign because the thought of an Obama presidency scared him even more than the idea of Maverick McRino in the Oval Office.
Racist.

Unfortunately, Huckabee's on there. Other than that, there are some quality, stalk-worthy conservatives on the list.

Namely, depriving kleptocrat Rep. Don Young of a few committee chairmanships.
One informs us that in a meeting this afternoon, Boehner told Young that he would not support his bid to remain Ranking Member on the House Natural Resources Committee, and that it was unlikely that the Steering Committee would either. Another tells us that although he did not officially request the Resources post, Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) is likely to get it because there will be no vacancy for the Rules committee post he was seeking.
I'll believe it when I see it.

The current leading candidate is former NFL star OJ Simpson, who hopes his experience outrunning federal prosecutors will allow him to avoid the fate of the last two governors.
Also expressing interest is longtime Democratic standard-bearer Al Gore, who feels that the state's proximity to the water and several fine all-you-can-eat buffets makes it the optimum location to continue hectoring citizens about the coming global apocalypse.
A popular dark horse candidate is California Governor and Republican Arnold Swartzenegger, although he would like to churn out a few more wretched movies before driving another state into the ground.
Bill Clinton has been mentioned as a possible successor, but politely declined, saying he's holding out for something more prestigious than a mere governorship, perhaps working with young, ambitious men and women, helping them learn vital skills that will help them succeed in business and politics in the future.
Most surprising of all, though, is that former Illinois senator Barack Obama has tossed his hat into the ring, saying that not only does he love campaigning, but he also hopes to burnish his meager credentials with some executive experience before trying to make the jump "to prime time."
