I love ya Mrs. Malkin, but I get the feeling that if Gov. Palin didn't have new clothes, you'd be wondering why they didn't feel the need to buy a candidate from Alaska clothing suitable for the weather in the lower 48.

These concepts of spreading the wealth and from each according to their abilities and to each according to their needs piss me right the hell off. It's not simply because I'm selfish and want to hold onto what I have, it's because I do not understand why I should subsidize some loser.
tl,dr to follow:

She basically accuses Palin of race-baiting at rallies, and goes on to claim that otherwise GOP white collar professionals will quietly vote for Obama, which I think one can safely take to mean she's voting for Obama(link goes to Hotair), along with a handful of professional snobs. Note not all professionals are this way, but yes, there are a number of vapid douchebags who are. We all know one.
Notice how she's freaking out about how "ugly" McCain and Palin's campaign is...uh, you mean in comparison to Obama's? Really? The same guy who had his lawyer send threatening letters to TV stations that played NRA ads? The campaign that has it's supporters and media allies throw the race card at anything and everything? The one that set up a "Truth Squad" in Missouri? The one with a creepy cult following with it's own Obamajugend? The same Obama with the violent and vandalizing followers that make the GOP divert millions in GOTV money to enhanced security? The massive voter fraud efforts by ACORN? And I'm probably not even scratching the surface.
Yeah, you're right Kathleen, it's McCain and Palin that are running the ugly campaign. What an idiot.
An aside, Tony Blankley rules. I also enjoy Weasel's take on the Parker/Buckley/Brooks/Noonan types.

But equally significant this time may become known as the Reverse-Bradley Effect: whites who would never admit to voting for a black man, but do. And, expanding the definition somewhat, Republicans and conservatives who would never admit to voting for a Democrat, especially one so liberal. Whether these dynamics are in balance won’t be known for a while — or perhaps ever. That’s because the crux of the reverse syndrome is a code of omerta.I admit that there must be a lot of white Republicans wanting to vote for a black man for President. Hell, I'm one of them. I just don't want one that will be such a horrible President that people will think twice about voting another black man or woman into that same position. And, since we're speaking of the Bradley Effect, consider two things: if you were African-American and planning on voting Republican, would you tell a pollster that? Secondly, as Dennis Miller stated yesterday, after seeing how the media reacted to Joe the Plumber, why would anyone want to do anything that might ivite the same scrutiny? How does one know that a pollster is on the level?
Next imitates another conservative Republican icon, Colin Powell:
“Palling around with terrorists,†as Sarah Palin said of Obama, gets to an underlying xenophobic, anti-Muslim sentiment. Using surrogates who strategically use Obama’s middle name, Hussein, feeds the same dark heart.Naturally, we can expect as much coverage of Palin hate at Obama rallies from Parker as as we can from the MSM at this point.
Last, but not least, there's this (emphasis mine):
Sitting quietly at their desks are an unknown number of discreet conservatives who surprise themselves as they mull their options. Appalled by McCain’s erratic behavior, both in dealing with the financial crisis and his selection of an unsuitable running mate, they will quietly (and with considerable trepidation) vote for Obama.Eratic behavior during the financial crisis? Hmmm.....where have I heard that before? Well, I suppose in the fevered mind of Ms. Kathleen Parker, putting a campaign on hold to deal with a financial crisis is a bit erratic. Others would call it putting country ahead of one's presidential campaign, something I'd never expect out of Sen. Obama.
Ann Coulter got fired as a columnist from National Review after her "invade their countries, kill their leaders" post-9/11 column. Why is Ms. Parker still around, even in syndication?

Vandals made a political statement in a Southwest Allen County neighborhood this week.Several major national media outlets immediately flew investigative journalists to Indiana to dig into Ms. Davis' tax records and employment history.Every McCain/Palin campaign sign was destroyed. The Obama/Biden signs however were left intact.
One neighbor, Nancy Davis, told NewsChannel 15, her sign was only up for about 24 hours.
She responded by posting a sign on the original campaign sign, stating "This vandalism will not change my vote."

And here is a link to the cover story, with the money quote near the bottom.
Everything tastes better with bacon
Bacon fans, ready your taste buds. Joshua Roland of downtown’s Fifteen is putting a new spin on the crispy pork strips you crave – make that several new spins. This fall, apple, pancake-black pepper and mustard-thyme bacon (pictured) will be on offer, along with whatever other infusions Roland has up his sleeve. (The chef has also dabbled in watermelon, jalapeño and garlic-rosemary bacon.) Aiming to please with “delicious, sexy, fun food,†Roland lets diners combine the bacon of their choice with BLTs, burgers and chicken sandwiches; bacon tastings are on the way. Sizzle-sizzle.
To answer your question: Yes, Roland likes bacon as much as you do. “I eat about 2 pounds of it a day,†he said.

Or, alternately, "Why Vintage should be the 2012 GOP vice presidential nominee."*
Who would have thought that the Governor of Alaska might need a professional wardrobe suitable for places outside the tundra? For shame! I can just imagine the outrage that would ensue if this was a Lingle-Palin ticket.
*As the GOP vice presidential nominee, I would relinquish half of my shoe budget would go to alexthechick. Slip on Vans don't cost that much.
Update: Maybe they'd be spending more money teaching me how to spell than with my fashion. I am lost without spell check. (That is, unless potential employers are reading, in which case I meant to say "show" instead of "shoe.")

I remain in the Treacher camp on the polls, I don't think they're accurate, and I think we're in the fight as long as we don't get bogged down in the media's propaganda campaign. I think if the McCain campaign is willing to put the time and resources into the state, he has a chance here.

Fringe sucks.
Yeah, the chick is super hot and the crazy dude is entertaining but let's be honest, this shit isn't even close to Firefly or Battlestar Galactica or even Sarah Conner Chronicles.
How disappointing.

Can we act like a bunch of lawless thugs? Yes We Can!
At some point during the wee hours of the morning, supporters of opponent Barack Obama attacked a private home in Prince George’s County, Md., defacing the house, an RV, a truck cover, and a two foot by eight foot yard sign. Apparently, the home owner was a registered Democrat and the local Obama fans were none to pleased with his decision to back McCain. The Obama campaign immedeiately responded by calling Harris' remarks racist. (Well, no, not really, but you can totally see that happening, right?)“I understand that in every election there are incidents where campaign signs on both sides are removed, torn down and defaced,†said Mykel Harris, Republican Central Committee Chair for Prince George’s County in a statement to the media. “But rarely do the perpetrators proceed to deface your home and personal property in your yard.â€
Harris called on elected officials, law enforcement, and appointed election officials take matters like these seriously and demanded that “persons found violating the civil rights of others via sign vandalism, voter registration fraud, or political intimidation pay a terrible price.â€

On Sunday night, she twice took questions from reporters, the first time on an airport tarmac without her press staff’s knowledge.Meanwhile, both Joe Biden and Barack Obama were unavailable for comment. After landing in Colorado Springs late Sunday, Ms. Palin marched over to a local television crew and began answering questions on camera, sending the traveling press corps sprinting in pursuit, and her press staff scrambling.
“Get Tracey,†one campaign aide barked into his headset, calling for Tracey Schmitt, Ms. Palin’s ever-watchful spokeswoman, who rushed over to supervise the impromptu press conference. (Ms. Schmitt, looking distressed, tried several times to cut it off with a terse “Thank you!†in between questions, to no avail.)

Looks like things are going downhill fast for Tim Mahoney. Now his wife is filing for divorce.
She filed a petition Monday in Palm Beach County court seeking the dissolution of their 23-year marriage and possession of their Palm Beach Gardens home.
The petition also claims Tim Mahoney moved money from a joint account to one in his name. It seeks "a full accounting of all funds spent or dissipated by the husband within the last two years" - the period since Mahoney was elected to Congress on a "faith, family and personal responsibility" platform in the aftermath of the Mark Foley sex scandal.
Neither Mahoney nor his wife could be reached for comment.
ABC News first reported on Oct. 13 that Mahoney had an affair with former staffer Patricia Allen, whom he fired this year and later agreed to pay $121,903 to stop her from filing a lawsuit.
The next day, Mahoney and his wife made a two-minute appearance before reporters. The congressman didn't directly address the affair but acknowledged causing "pain," declared it a "private matter" and vowed to press on with his reelection bid.
Three days after that, Mahoney gave a series of interviews in which he acknowledged "multiple affairs" and said his behavior was wrong but did not violate any laws or his oath of office. Asked to define what "multiple" meant, Mahoney would only say "more than one."

As a public service to the few of you who've actually had sex*, I provide you this link:
It’s not usually that easy to tell someone you have slept with that you may have exposed them to a sexually transmitted disease. But a new initiative called inSPOT is seeking to make it easier, Medical News Today reported.
Through a Web site – www.inSPOT.org – the initiative allows you to notify sexual partners, past or present, of any potential exposure by sending free electronic postcards.
One of the postcards starts of with the message, “There’s no easy way to say this. . .â€
And you thought you were getting a birthday card!
* - By sex I don't include the following: blow up dolls, yourself, goats or any other animal, robots (no matter how lifelike), Paris Hilton, or apple pie.
