Bangkok's police force has found a unique way to discipline sloppy behavior by police officers. They're following the philosophy that was behind cleaning up New York City in the 90's(focusing on petty crime to reduce all crime), but Bangkok is doing it their own special way.
The Bangkok police are now punishing officers that litter, park illegally, are late to work or commit other minor offenses will be forced to wear a cute little pink Hello Kitty armband for several days. It has little hearts and of course, Hello Kitty. The offending officer will not be permitted to say what their offense was.

Okay, I had to use that cheesy lede for this story. A 46 year old man was getting a lap dance at home from a stripper when he fell unconscious and quit breathing. The stripper actually gave him CPR until the paramedics arrived to take over.
She told them that he was offering her Oxycodone while she danced, and indeed, there was a pill bottle with his name on it. When he finally came to and was able to speak, he claimed she offered him some pill and that was what made him go cold.
So, what do you think happened? Did the guy OD on Oxy or did the stripper see a chance to slip him something in order to KO him and score his wallet (or whatever else she wanted?)

This is a song and video by Tally Hall, one of the few bands I happen to like that are less than twenty years old.

Authorities say they don't think its terror related, and they aren't sure what they were doing. The sub was tied down close to the Queen Mary II in NY Harbor.
Purple Avenger in comments at Ace's found a Flickr Account that seems to show that its a remake of the Turtle or something similar. The Turtle was a primitive sub that was built in the Revolutionary War to attack British ships. Dan Riehl is also linked there with a story saying it was a Turtle Replica. Kinda neat...go figure!
Funny thing is, the first thing that I thought of when I saw it was the Turtle.

Interesting...almost like a cross, six pointed star, or even a star and crescent, but even better! A big scarlet "A." Get it, because they're persecuted like Hester Prynne. Also like the Scarlet Letter(or anything written by Hawthorne), Evangelical Atheists are also tedious and annoying as hell.
Sorry, but if you can sit there and tell me Evangelical Atheists aren't trying to build the functional equivalent of a religion at this point, you're in denial. This brand of Atheism IS a religious movement, if you're one of these types of Atheists, you need to quit acting like the NYT and just admit what you're agenda is, I don't even care that you are Atheists, just admit its a religious movement.
I wonder when he starts forming the al-Dawkins Numbskulls Brigades, an organization specifically built to bomb and derail every online forum and chat thread with mile long rants and venom about the stupidity of believing in a deity? Oh wait, that already exists.

Because its G4TV, and if G4TV has their hands on this, it will suck. G4TV used to be TechTV and ZDTV before that, and they actually had some good programming up until it was bought out by Comcast and turned into the crapfest called G4TV.
I'll never forgive them for booting Leo LaPorte.

*Welcome, fellow AoS morons! Just got my 10,000 visit! Feel free to look around.
Its called the M200G Volantor, designed by Dr. Paul Moller. The craft hovers about three meters off the ground, and glides above the surface at about 50 MPH. Depending on demand, it could start at around a bit over 44,000 pounds which is about $90,000. It is apparently great for offroad fun, as it glides over most obstacles with ease. It relies on a an air cushion caused by the engines.
If you can afford the hefty price tag, this would be super sweet.

If you signed in 2002, the list expires after five years, and you will have to sign again to keep the call centers from pounding your phones. You will have until September 15th to file or you will be dropped from the registry.
The FTC and PA Attorney General are starting campaigns to remind people that their Standing with the Do Not Call Registry needs updated. They also warn to watch out for bogus Do Not Call Registries.
Around three quarters of the American public are on the Do Not Call Registry.

I think its part reactionary, which I'm conflicted on, on one hand its throwing a big middle finger to whiny militant secularists, which I like, but on the flipside, I get squeamish about being too reactionary. I think they have the state of Texas has the right to do it, and I don't think the words added to the pledge should itself be challenged, though it likely will.
I guess where I stand is, if this is a genuine expression (and I'm sure for some it is) I'm fine. If it is simply flipping off the obnoxious secular types in a move to garner support, I have to say, I'm uncomfortable with it, as I believe God and a pledge to a state in the greatest nation are simply too important to be used as pawns in a chess game with obnoxious secularists, even use the opposition try the same tactics.
Much of this conflicted feeling I think springs from my eternal skepticism about the character, motive and intent of our political elite, and that drives this line of questioning. I actually have this cross-posted at doubleplusundead, and even got a Headlines link at HotAir, which sparked some decent debate, but I'd love to see what you morons have to say about it. I'm still not sure what I think about it(which is rare, because I almost always have an opinion on something), which is why I've been sending this around. I'd like to see what you morons think.

Cuffy was one of my first visits and I think the first person to add me to his blogroll.
*And an Ace Sidebar Headline! I'll note the Ace headlines above and below Cuffy's are from a very awesome blogger *cough*
Oh, and I should mention, I've noticed you actually get a bigger traffic bump getting on HotAir's Headlines(4 times?) than a link in the Blog itself(which I've gotten three times now, ), so Cuffy'll get a big bump in traffic. Interesting, huh?

It is time to think about the “unthinkable.â€They go on to explain that it wasn't that the GOP didn't try to cheat in 2006, in fact they did, up to 6% of the election was rigged, according to the authors. But the left was simply too strong in their opposition against a mighty, seemingly invincible foe. It was too much for the insidious Rove machine. The Bush Administration has both the inclination and the power to cancel the 2008 election.
The GOP strategy for another electoral theft in 2008 has taken clear shape, though we must assume there is much more we don’t know.
But we must also assume that if it appears to Team Bush/Cheney/Rove that the GOP will lose the 2008 election anyway (as it lost in Ohio 2006) we cannot ignore the possibility that they would simply cancel the election. Those who think this crew will quietly walk away from power are simply not paying attention.
The real question is not how or when they might do it. It’s how, realistically, we can stop them.
Then they go on to say this...
In traditional electoral terms, that may also be the case in 2008. Should things proceed as they are now, it’s hard to imagine any Republican candidate going into the election within striking distance. The potential variations are many, but the graffiti on the wall is clear. What’s also clear is that this administration has a deep, profound and uncompromised contempt for democracy, for the rule of law, and for the US Constitution. When George W. Bush went on the record (twice) as saying he has nothing against dictatorship, as long as he can be dictator, it was a clear and present policy statement.
Who really believes this crew will walk quietly away from power? They have the motivation, the money and the method for doing away with the electoral process altogether. So why wouldn’t they?
They then go through the litany of eeevil dictatorial powers Bush has accumulated during his regime. I'm sure you know all these by now, PATRIOT Act, Habeus Corpus, and the Drug War? Okay, that one threw me a bit, but I guess as high as the writers probably were when they wrote this paranoid rant, it makes sense.
But you're asking yourself, have they mentioned the concentration camps being built all across the nation in order to round up liberals and other undesirables? Of course! What good moonbat rant would be complete without it?The establishment of the Homeland Security Agency has given it additional hardware to decimate the basic human rights of our citizenry. Under the guise of dealing with the “immigration problem,†large concentration camps are under construction around the US.
They then rattle off a bunch of executive orders signed by Bush, which grant him the power to seize control and start sending liberals to the camps, they then cite Executive Order # 9066 (9066 was used to intern Japanese-Americans in WWII) among others as examples to show how a president can use executive orders to enhance their power.
They then claim that the Supreme Court, even if it did denounce the evil regime(remember the left thinks the Supreme Court is dominated by Bush because of the 2000 election) it would be irrelevent, and he'd ignore it. They point to the Supreme Court case in 1836, in which the court ordered that the US must respect the agreement with the Cherokee people, and Andrew Jackson ignored it, driving the Cherokees out of Appalachia into Oklahoma.
They lament that the congress will do nothing to stop the evil Chimperor, and the Supreme Court will rubber stamp in his favor, and even if they didn't, they have no enforcement powers. They then ask,
What does that leave? There is much idle speculation now about what the armed forces would do. We also hear loose talk about “90 million gun owners.â€
Now that is funny! After decades of doing nothing but kicking around and antagonizing the military and gun owners, the lefties hold even a faint glimmer of hope that they'd bail their asses out?
I'll give these lefties credit, they actually understand what it is to be liberal, and give the only answer a lefty knows to give in a time of "crisis".
From the public side, the only conceivable counter-force might be a national strike or an effective long-term campaign of general non-cooperation.
Not working and obnoxious demonstrators, of course!
But the last few lines here are great,
But we can certainly assume the mainstream media will give lock-step support to whatever the regime says and does. It’s also a given that those likely to lead the resistance will immediately land in those new prisons being built by Halliburton et. al.
The media? The same media that's been doing everything in their power to undermine Bush? These people truly are nuts. Though that might explain the large psych wings in all the Hallibu...never mind.
So how do we cope with the harsh realities of such a Bush/Cheney/Rove dictatorial coup?
We may have about a year to prepare. Every possible scenario needs to be discussed in excruciating detail.
For only one thing is certain: denial will do nothing.
Stay strong, my friends, viva la resistance.
