I am fucking sick and fucking tired of being told that wanting a better life for my family is somehow racist. I am fucking sick and fucking tired of being told that not wanting to be taunted for the most vile attack on our country in my lifetime is somehow "bigoted'. I am really fucking sick and fucking tired of being told that "hate" is what motivates me.
Instead of hiding, I'll admit to something. Yesterday was my daughter's first day of Kindergarten. And as I stood in line with her to enter school, I saw the tiny little thing that I used to be able to hold on my lap walk into the future. I saw the most precious and valuable gift ever given to me set forth on a journey that will lead to (hopefully) a lifetime of happiness and enjoyment. And I saw the future walk into a classroom with a backpack bigger than her, and I thought about her future. And I was and am worried.
Yes, I am worried. What kind of future will she have? And I became angry. I became angry at those who wish to ruin her future. And I began to let the hate grow. Yes, the hate for those who wish to make her life more difficult than what I had. Not hate for an ethnic or other group, but hate for an idea, since people can change their views. And the idea I hate is liberalism. I confess, I hate. I hate those who want to advance an agenda that ruins the today, the tomorrow, and the tomorrow's tomorrow. And to them, I wish them the following:

But, as a parent I share your concern about what kind of country your child will grow up in.
I have one solution that will help you. Guns. Get them. Teach her about the importance of gun ownership under the rights of the Constitution. Find a club, range and join the NRA. It will be a pleasant Father - Daughter activity. Think of how she will thank you on her wedding day for those great memories of shooting those service rifles you so thoughtlfully purchased before they became illegal to buy.
I did this for my two boys now 15 and 17.

I can also say I know it had some effect because most of the streets in the city I live in have been repaved because of it and people were paid to do so. In order to really work, the stimulus needed to be bigger, maybe twice as big, but some numb nuts out there think that their precious freedoms are more important and that if we just gave more tax cuts to rich people, we'd be fine in no time.
And finally, no, you did not say anything bad about Muslims and New York but a few of your commentors gave what could be said as some mighty fine, 100% pure prejudice. The simple facts of the stimulus are these: most of the money was not spent on stimulating the economy, but on providing unemployment benefits and medicare payments. Romer & Zandi claim that the unemployment benefit spending would have a significant effect on the economy, but it never appeared. The tax cuts were short-term and meaningless. The infrastructure spending, which only really kicked into gear this summer, was too slow. The other stimulus spending, which is a small fraction of the whole package, hasn't even really started.
The complaint about the stimulus was always that it was too slow and too expensive. Unfortunately, it turned out to be mostly useless, as well.
