Yes, he did, you stupid fuck
I know I'm a day behind, but what better way to mark the 70th anniversary of Hitler's invasion of Poland than by wondering whether he really wanted war.

I just saw the Buchanan piece at another site and was getting ready to post it here. My tagline was going to be maybe we need to stuff his dumbass in an over but that's probably a bit over the top.

That's a masterpiece of historical revisionism. My favorite part was when he argued that Hitler would have been happy with just a small town in Poland. Because each time Hitler said that's all he wanted, he meant it.

I try to keep my really long, stream of consciousness stuff off here,
That anniversary was even weirder in Poland than here.
The Poles had a ceremony and Merkel and Putin were there but nobody from the US, Britain or France was.
In other words, as far as the Poles are concerned, "Them" were there but "Us" wasn't.
So their feckless allies from WWII (France, Britain) and their current, missile-defensively feckless ally (us) weren't there but the people who carved up their country were.
That's kinda funny and scary. Fitting.
Putin's remarks are pretty funny, or would be if he weren't a dictator in charge of a huge country that has to have at least a few working nukes left.

I'm pretty sure if Bush was still in office we would have had a rep there. This is a deliberate snub by the Obama team for Poland supporting the Bush vision of the world

Or was it a snub by Poland because Obama hung them out to dry after they stood up to Putin for us?
Nobody is really talking about what invites went where.
My link is bad so I can't find the original story (I saw it in the sidebar of another story on some news site), but nobody would say why they weren't there.
So did Britain, France and US snub Poland or did Poland snub them?

Just to stir the pot a little further, let's not forgot that the Poles did some yeoman's work in Iraq and were more-or-less promised some sweet, sweet cheap military hardware in return amongst other things. How's that been working out for them?
