I just caught up with "Lost" for the season and I have no one to talk to about it, so I'm gonna talk to you all below the fold.

I think that Richard Alpert is Egytpian Sun God Ra (Richard Alpert = R.A. = Ra), or something similar.  There has been Egyptian stuff spread throughout the series.  There are the hieroglyphics in the Hatch, Hurley's painting of the Sphinx, and the numerous appearances of ankhs (including the two being held by the four-toed statue), and Richard's guyliner resembles kohl (example). 

Also, I agree with Jim Treacher.  I don't think that the 1977 Ben Linus was killed, if for no other reason that that he's a great character.
