Unofficial Straw Poll

As most of you know, I am in the process of driving cross-country.  I have driven through parts of Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

I have seen the following presidential bumper stickers:

W '04:  8

Obama: 3

Ron Paul: 2

Kerry/Edwards '04: 1

McCain: 0

You may now discuss amongst yourselves what that means for the general election.

1 I know a fair number of McCain voters, but AA's hardly a safe place to drive around with any republican bumper sticker.  Offices here are decided in almost exclusively in (D) primary.

2 McCain is doing surprisingly well here in L.A., though Obama is doing much better. There are also a few Kucinich cars running around. And, of course, the Cthulu '08 sticker on the back of mine.

3 So I stopped by the OC Republicans booth at the OC fair yesterday. Lots of pics of McCain, but no bumber stickers.

4 uh, none of us actually like McCain enough to go to the trouble of putting on a bumper sticker?  or none of us feel like having our cars vandalized.
