Tolerance redux!

So. Apparently a Vanderbilt Muslim chaplain was asked about that whole pesky the Koran says to execute the gays thing. His answer?

Yup it says that and "I don’t have a choice as a Muslim to accept or reject teachings."

Hey, good for him for addressing this and saying what he said.  Now, everyone who believes that if a Jewish or Christian chaplain said that, that chaplain would still be at Vanderbilt, raise your hand.  Yeah, I don't think that either.

Vanderbilt's response is great and lovely and inclusive and hey we listen to all points of view even if we disagree.  Sure.  Yup.  I am going to believey face the hell at them because I have a sneaking suspicion that if a Christian student said something like that, that kid would be up on some type of hate crime charges.

Do I think the guy should be disciplined, run out of town on a rail, etc.?  Nope.  I do think that Vanderbilt should be willing to extend the same tolerance to all religions, even those icky Evangelicals.  Somehow, I don't think that is the case.
