Steny Hoyer: Wow, we really got out of hand with the spending, guess nothing to do now but raise taxes, huh?

Fuckadoodledoo! We of course all knew this was coming,

“No one likes raising revenue, and understandably so,” Hoyer said in an address at the Brookings Institution. “But if you’re going to buy, you need to pay.

Indeed...and yet, the Democrats seem so eager to "raise revenue" (really? how about calling this what it is, a tax hike?) every time they get within a country mile of any position of power in this nation.  I just don't get it.  If they hate doing it so much, why do they keep doing it?

“It seems to me that the only solution that can win the support of both parties is a balanced approach: one that cuts some spending and raises some revenue while avoiding extremes in either direction,” he said.

Translation:  Few token cuts of frivolous pork projects, maybe "cut" (or as we know it, not allocate an annual funding increase for the next year) funding for some obscure, useless bureaucratic body, brutal tax hikes for the American public.

To hit the deficit target relying only on tax increases on the rich, as identified by Obama, the income tax rates for those earning more than $250,000 would have to be increased to more than 70 percent, Williams and his colleagues Rosanne Altshuler and Katherine Lim wrote in a Tax Policy Center paper released last month.

Yeah, you want to completely destroy the economy?  Do this.  Unfortunately, they probably are trying to destroy the economy in order to further excuse their seizing control of it...

They're making another one of these stupid committees to give themselves cover for more corrupt, insane shenanigans,

For now, Obama and Hoyer’s answer to the deficit is a bipartisan commission of outside experts and lawmakers that will come up with fiscal reform proposals. Congress would be expected to vote up or down on the commission’s proposals.

Because we all know Congress always follows through on the spending cuts.
