stash wanted me to send his thanks

Stashiu and I have been exchanging emails since I saw his post this weekend. He's been thanking everyone who has sent him a donation, prayers and best wishes.  He asked me to put up a thank you on his behalf, he says,

I don't want to go overboard with thank yous at my site because it will start to sound like the stewardesses (sorry, Flight Attendants, heh) at the end of a flight, "Thank you for flying with us. Thank you, have a great day.  Buh bye.  Thank you for flying with us. Thank you, have a great day.  Buh bye.  Thank you for flying with us. Thank you, have a great day.  Buh bye.  Thank you for flying with us. Thank you, have a great day.  Buh bye."

I'm sure those FA's are just as sincere as I am, but after a while it starts to sound rote and I don't want anyone to feel taken for granted.

Stash says in the email that he didn't realize what a burden the costs really were until he started getting donations, he had become used to carrying the burden himself.  He's really been blown away by the support you guys have given him, in spirit, support and generosity.

I also know Stash's wife was shown the donations, and some of the well wishes and posts, and was shocked by the amount of support they've received.  So thank you to all who have prayed and offered your best wishes, and a very special thanks to all of you who have donated.  The Moronosphere has done great, and this has only been day three, let's see how far we can go to help Stash out.  Really, if there is one thing to be taken away from this situation, its this,

The Moronosphere fucking delivers, baby!

My only problem with giving him the cash was that it was ultimately going to lawyers.

I deal with lawyers for a living. I know some good one, and I know the rest.

(no, there are no misspelled words or misused words properly spelled in there)

2 Maybe, but his kids are on the line, his hand is kinda forced here.

dpud is WAY too modest I guess, but here's what I actually wrote:

"I'm just starting to come to terms with how much of a godsend you've been.  It's like the pack mule standing next to the town mule saying, "What load?" because he's gotten so used to carrying it.  A big part of the load I hadn't really noticed anymore has been lifted and it feels amazing.  No wonder I was starting to get burnt out."

Most people don't know me from Adam, and without dpud's hard work none of this would have been possible.

(sorry to blow ur image dude, but hey... you da MAN!)

4 Oh, the part he quoted was accurate too, he just left out the bit about how much our family appreciates him and I just couldn't let him get away with it.

5 Stash, are you getting any legal advice from other readers? I know there are a few lawyers in our bunch and in the Cotillion.  I was hoping someone might know of a way to help you in that way as well.

And you're right - DPUD is da MAN!

6 DPUD is the wind beneath our swim-fins! No, wait...! :-)

I'd say this to all Moronbloggers: leave the posts up. I don't think we're quite done yet.

I'm gonna move it to front and center Friday and leave it all weekend. Couldn't hurt!

7 Yup, do drop a plug here and there, even a blurb at the beginning of a post like I did with today's links is a good idea.

Yes, I've gotten a lot of helpful suggestions that we can look at after this is over.  Not only is getting this finished a higher priority, it would be unwise to pick a fight with the first attorney when they could still probably screw things up for us.  When DHS and ICE are happy (and right now they're being very patient, I've got no beef with them at all), some of the legal advice I've been getting may help keep that first attorney from screwing up anybody else.

DPUD is the wind beneath our swim-fins webbed-toes!

Glad I could fix that for ya Steamboat!

9 When DHS and ICE are happy

That's the other thing that I wanted to add in my appeals, but wasn't sure if you wanted that out there.

They (DHS and/or ICE, depending which part we're talking about) have been giving extensions while this is going on.  They don't have to though, and if they decided to stop extending the girls' visas, could order them deported.  Like I said, so far they've been very patient.  We're hoping to get everything done soon so DHS and ICE can say, "Oookay-fine... have a nice day." and not have to worry anymore.

Bottom line:  Right now they're legal.  We hope they'll be permenantly legal very soon.  That takes time and money, which were starting to be in short supply, so all the help is very much appreciated.

11 I think they know what a PR disaster it would be to anything less than helpful to you.
