sarah palin to be vp?

Hmm, this is interesting. I like Palin, and she gets big kudos for being a Republican with a spine, an endangered species these days. Yeah, choosing her weakens McCain's inexperience argument against Obama a bit, and there is a limit to how much she'll do in terms of bringing a state, but I agree with Allah, McCain needs a fresh face to go with his run, some counter to the "stodgy ol' whitey party" narrative, and someone who isn't going to piss off a lot of conservatives. Palin would be a decent choice.

Besides, she'd fit in well here in Pennsylvania,

1 Oh believe me, I am. I think whatever advantage we lose as far as the "Obama is inexperienced" meme would be offset by an energized conservative base.

Obama is running for Prez, Palin would be running for VP -- that's all the difference needed for the 'inexperience' argument. I'd still be surprised if she got picked though, if for no other reason than that she just had her fifth kid. It would be kind of hard to campaign with a new baby, I'd imagine.

It's nice to see McCain meeting with an actual conservative though.

3 I dunno if it would *energize* conservatives, but it buys McCain time to mend some fences, if he isn't too stupid to blow that opportunity.

4 Two years as a governor is still two more years of executive experience than Obama has. And she was mayor of her small town (est. 8471 population in 2005 according to widipedia).

I think a decent case can be made that Palin as a VP pick is more experienced than the top of the Dem ticket.

5 As far as the fifth child goes, she said - the day before she gave birth, no less - at a gop governors meeting that she would serve as vp. And by this time, she already knew the child had Downs. I'd provide a link, but I'm on my mobile and its impossible. Heh.
