Richard Jewell Dead

He was only 44.  It was a result of problems with diabetes.  You can't help but feel awful for the guy, getting wrongly accused like he was while the whole world was watching.

Wow.  This is terrible.  And you're right, I always felt bad for him after he was tried, convicted and sodomized by the press and then not so much as an "oh....sorry".

What a shame.  I hate the fucking press.

I think he was the first person I heard described as a "person of interest".  That phrase has made me nervous since.

2 I hope he finds solace in the next life.  Jewell was just a guy who did his job, and the media made him pay dearly for it.

"Person of interest." I suspect we caught that phrase off the Brits. They're forever seeking out so-and-so "to aid in the inquiries." Probably has to do with their hair-trigger libel laws and pre-trial publicity laws.
