Really? They published this?

Yeah, this is a HuffPo story, but this one's gotta be linked.  Some dumb bastard who'll probably be paid a visit by the Secret Service (and probably deserves to) decided to buy an ad in a newspaper advertisement saying the following,

Warren Times Observer Publisher John Elchert says the ad appeared Thursday. It read, "May Obama follow in the steps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy!" The four presidents were all assassinated.

The newspaper staff, being journalists, did not get the obvious historical reference made in the ad at all and published it.  I'm still trying to decide who is the dumbest, the retard who wrote the ad, the newspaper for publishing it, or the fevered hivemind known as the HuffPo commenter for the sheer volume of hypocrisy they engage in through the comments.

I didn't like it when the left said this kind of insane shit about Bush, and I don't like it being said about Obama either.

Only Lincoln and Kennedy were assasinated. The other two died of natural causes. Don't know if that was pointed out yet but I am too tired to look.

Freedom of speech even if it is offensive should still be free. And it may be his wish that Obama follow the aforementioned presidents but as long as he is not making an active plan to make it come to fruition his speech should be protected.

Besides with the revolution in full swing I think we have bigger things to worry about than this

2 The other two died of natural causes.

Infections from wounds are a natural cause?  FAIL

Some nut trying to agitate other nuts is something to take seriously.

Fixed.

5 I don't know that it's fair to say it's journalists who screwed up, it's probably someone in the classifieds department who was too ignorant of American history to get it. Which is really even more depressing to think about.  That being said, whoever placed it absolutely deserves a visit from the Secret Service.  Better safe than sorry and all that.

Also I see we have some Epic Comment Fail.   Good times, good times.

6 The other two died of natural causes.

This seems like the kind of information the families of Leon Czolgosz and Charles Guiteau might be interested in hearing.
