Once again

A newspaper has published the concealed carry permit database with all the names and addresses of those who have carry permits, this time in Tennessee.  So, what happens when an abusive ex decides to use this after the victim of their abuse who now carries for fear of their life?  I guess the Memphis Commercial Appeal doesn't care.

It doesn't matter: after all, everyone knows that guns are sentient beings, capable of all manner of dastardly, murderous, deeds and, thus, their location must, at all times, be monitored and reported on so that when one does go off in a fit of rage, the clean-up crew (that'd be the police; the janitors of modern society) can more ably take the offending firearm (and its unwitting human accomplice) into custody.

To counter this I suggest we invoke racial politics: since guns are, by and large, black, I think we  can, reasonably, suggest that this is little more than a McCarthyite blacklist, aimed at keeping all guns holstered, even in cases where their nature could be invoked to stave off impending death.

Or something....

I liked the comment over at "sayuncle" who wanted to start publishing public records on as many of the newspaper critters in Memphis.

You know, because we all have the right to know.
