Oh, give me a break, People

Okay, this shit is really, really getting on my nerves:

Michelle Obama leads a group of famous White House faces that have landed on the pages of People’s list of the 100 most beautiful.

The first lady joins White House social secretary Desiree Rogers, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, White House chef Sam Kass and chief of staff Rahm Emanuel in a section called “Barack’s Beauties.” Actress and recent cancer survivor Christina Applegate made the cover.

Okay, I don't deny that some people find Michelle Obama attractive. She is, after all, a very...um...striking woman. I have no idea what Rogers or Kass look like, but Geithner looks like a fucking dork and there are ghouls that look good next to Emanuel.

We get it. You guys in the magazine business are fairly liberal. You also want to sell copies of your magazine and, more importantly, advertising. And Obama is popular right now, so you naturally want to capitalize on that. But don't serve us a big, steaming turd and expect us to pretend that it's delicious ice cream, m'kay?

1 I think it's customary to include the first lady. Laura Bush was chosen at least once.

2 I believe it's also customary to include the Treasury Secretary. I'm pretty sure Hank Paulson made the list a few times, and won Miss America in the late 90s.

5 I don't care if people think Michelle isn't hideous, cuz that's all she is on the scale of general beauty, Michelle is NOT HIDEOUS!

Laura was girl next door adorable, but the media is making Michelle into a supermodel of some sort.

No she's not. Michelle is NOT Jackie Kennedy no matter the mythology you build. Jackie was jackie, Michelle is Not Hideous.

You know the only first lady in the last 50 years that really was a supermodel? Nancy Reagen, when she was younger, was very nearly the equivalent of a supermodel, you know who else was? Ronalds First wife.

Jackie was just young (very young) and vein vane vain? whatever, but did nancy get the amazing coverage about her mature beauty that Michelle does? Nope.

Nancy was nicknamed "The China Doll" not out of respect for her lasting mature beauty, but as a mockery of the fact that she was comfortable wearing beautiful clothes (just like Jackie) Only Nancy and Nancy's husband bought her those beautiful clothes, not like with jackies dad, and her husbands dad, who were the only ones who actually earned money.

Michelle is NOT HIDEOUS! but Nancy is fake?

And BTW, my favorite first lady is Babsy Bush. That chick can throw down. I don't care if she looked like her husbands mother, I would love her anyways just like he did, cuz that is one tough balsy bitch.

I bet she Eff's like a Marine wages war.

curiously thought they put Mariska Hargitay on the list, in her place,

who looks more like her than Tina Fey, ever did.

9 The criteria for drawing up this list are very controversial and questionable. Strictly speaking I do not see any physical beauty in Obama.Ela Michele is a wonderful and intelligent woman, I think so lista.Na came in my mind who could not miss, in no cases was Mariska Hargitay. Indeed in the last 5 years Mariska appeared 4 times. She, as well as beautiful, is intelligent, talented, generous and fun. It is a complete package. Thanks Mariska, you should be in any list of beauty, talent and character.
