obama says socialist medicine in first 100 days

SECOND LOOK AT MCCAIN?

Actually, I'd say it is more important to keep enough non-sellout GOPers in Congress to filibuster and foil any attempt to do this.

1 Gad I find this infuriating. The whole universal health care initiative has been sold on inflated numbers and a complete misunderstanding of what the problem really is.

I was trying to photoshop a Voting-for-McCain HazMat suit, for those voters who needed more than a clothespin to help them pull the lever. Unfortunately my skills were weak and my time was limited.

I  was talking to NiceDeb about putting together regional election night parties to watch the returns come in with a sympathetic crowd. If we're going to get drunk while we watch ourselves get whipped, we might as well get drunk with friends while we watch ourselves get whipped.

2 Maybe a bottle of vodka or whiskey with a pic of a snarling McCain with the phrase "I Can't Believe I'm Voting For This Asshole" on the label.

3 He can say it all he wants, but that don't mean he's gonna wave his hand and make it happen.

I think people are getting freaked that Obama is going to be able to magically make all this stuff that Dems have been unsuccessfully pushing for years happen in one short term.

If by some miracle he actually does get elected, (he won't) there's not enough hours in the day for him to enact all he's promising.

5 Prez Obama can't get everything enacted, but it'll be a lot easier to get stuff passed through that filibuster proof Dem Senate.

You're forgetting that this is Teh Chocolate Jesus we're talking about here.  You know, with all the Hope and Change.

7 Hi Doubleplusundead:  (great nic by the way, I never understood it until I looked around on your site)

I don't know if you have seen my name before but I comment on Hot Air from time to time with the nickname Mormon Doc.  When I am not commenting there I am an author and have just published a book entitled Soul Survivor.  I am hosting a contest to give away 5 signed copies of the book and I want to invite you to participate.  There is a summary of the book on my site and  NO purchase is required to be eligible.

The reason I am doing this is to increase awareness of my book before it goes up on Amazon next month.  The more important reason is that I believe the book has the potential to help people.

Please visit my website to see the contest rules (which are simple) and remember that this does not require any purchase.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Warm regards,

James Ballou
author of Soul Survivor

Hey DPUD, I have an idea that I think would be fun.

Since you came up with the Moronosphere links that you do every day, I was thinking it would be cool to have a Moronosphere AwardsTM each year.

Not make it too complicated...maybe just four or five categories.  As you post the "best of" throughout the year, you could make a list of posts that you thought were exceptional in some way.

Then at the end of the year you could post the four or five finalists in each category and either let everyone vote or have a panel of select morons vote.  Or you just decide who wins.

Then I thought it would be cool if most everyone in the moronosphere posted the winners in each category with links to the posts.  It would be good for traffic I would think.

That may be too much work for you but I thought it was a fun idea.  I offer my services to help out if you think it's feasible.

9 Rosetta is just trying to get an early lead in the Worst Names for Childrens' Cereal category and hopes he can get something shiny as a reward for being moronic.

What being a moron is all about.

Interesting idea, though that would really be tough, because there have to be thousands of links already.

11 James, I'll post your contest in today's Moronosphere links, should give you some free advertising.
