Is $5.1 million a good number on its own? I’d say yes, for a party that just lost a national election and faces off against a popular (for now) Democratic President. It’s doubly impressive considering the fact that the RNC didn’t have much of a senior staff; Steele canned most of them, and has only now begun replacing them, including the person in charge of fundraising.
$5 million is not a good number, I don't care how you spin it. Yeah, they beat the Democrats in fundraising, big deal, what does it say about people's faith in the GOP that they'd only give them $5 million as the Marxists in power nationalize everyfuckingthing? The fact that everyone who isn't a liberal drone hasn't emptied their wallet into a big box with a little red, white and blue elephant tacked onto the side of it should be telling. People won't donate to the RNC because they know it's a money sink, they've lost all faith in the party, and with damn good reason.

I speculate that contributions will be down across the board, considering the amount of fear being pushed on people about the economic future of the country. People who would have donated before might have experienced layoffs, or are fearing a layoff, and are therefore being a bit more tight with their money.
What kind of number would have been more positive to you? 10 million? 15 million? How does this number compare to other post-election years?

Is there a reason this is being touted as a Good Thing?
Well, since I'm the resident Allah-fan and Capt. Bore disliker, I'll answer your question.
Yes, there is a reason.
Capt Bore is a cheerleader for the GOP. Period. If you read everything he says through that lens, it'll make much more sense.
For you SAT enthusiasts, try this
Capt Bore is to Hugh Hewitt
As the GOP is to:
A: Mitt Romney
B: Fred Flintstone
C: Teh Fred
D: Benito Giuliani
The correct answer, of course, is "A: Mitt Romney".

is it a good 1 month number?? considering the state the Country and the GOP is in I would say "It's not bad at all".
May I introduce Todd Herman, the RNCs New Media Director, I've known about this guy for years through some really geeky friends of mine, and yes, he is one of the best intertube guys out there right now.
This one should go in the GOP Win category.
His politics would fit in pretty good around here as well.

If I may, Mr. Malor, perhaps El Rushbo recommended such because for the last 8+ years, the Repubs in office and at the RNC have been slinking away from conservatism. Offering us "Dem Light" instead of true conservative principles and values. If they hadn't been spending like drunken sailors right alongside the libtards for the past 8 years, maybe we would be a little more inclined to trust them with our donations?
disclaimer: I have no idea of the context in which the Maja Rushie was speaking when he encouraged his listeners not to donate.
