My wife and daughter went down to the Archgrounds today to participate in the local "Tea Party", along with my wife's twin sister and her two sons. It was cold and dreary, but a lot of people showed up.
Hell, it must have been a success if even the liberal local media mentioned the larger than expected attendees.
Louanne Patterson calls the cure worse than the disease."Our children, my son, my grandson's future -- they're mortgaging it," she complained as fellow protestors nodded in agreement. "They say we're going to get back $400, $800 on our taxes but with the deflation (the stimulus package) is going to cause, that's going to be worth nothing."
Organizers were stunned by their own success -- they expected 50 to 100 people to come out on a chilly workday but the crowd swelled to 1,000 or more.
Sadly, my family members didn't stay the whole time because the little ones were getting cold and cranky. Instead, they went up the arch.
UPDATE! Here is a video from a local TV Network.

I'm in St. Charles. Wish I could have been there.
I'm not surprised KMOX radio covered the protest. They've been friendly to conservatives in the past. I would bet a dollar though the St. Louis Post-Disgrace doesn't mention it in the print edition. Get a dozen testosterone-deficient, anti-military creeps to stand in a circle and they'll feature a story on them. Several hundred ordinary citizens pissed off at a crappy law and an even crappier congress doesn't rate.

Couldn't be there.. that damn "job" thing. But I'll tell you EB, I think that we're on to something here. Take a look at those people. Real, normal Americans. Not the smelly freaks you see at every lefty protest. Not the femmy douchebags standing on street corners in the Central West End. These are the people who pay the damn bills. These are the people who bear the brunt of the socialist bs which passes for govt these days. These are the people who can throw the dems out on their fat, corrupt, America-hating asses in '10. It's just a matter of staying focused, letting people know that they're not alone, and watching the dems eff this country up from top to bottom over the next 2 yrs.

One more thing. Weekends work better for people with jobs.

Well I was wrong. The local fishwrap did run a story, complete with photo. It was also covered by the local TV stations. In typical fashion, however, the fishwrap snarked about how pathetic it was compared to the millions* who came to The One's campaign rally in October. Well duh. One event was planned weeks if not months in advance, was publicized on lord knows how many news outlets, papers, blogs, emails, had an entire political party scouring the countryside for attendees, and was held on a pleasant fall Saturday. The other had maybe a day's advance notice, was publicized on a single radio station, and was held on a cold, dreary weekday afternoon.
The fishwrap is unsurprisingly failing to report that there have been dozens of these protests springing up all over the country.
*Partisan melon-heads and media assclowns seriously predicted anywhere from 2-4.5 million would crowd St. Louis to see Obama. The actual total was well under a million.
