Independence Day

I'm reading John Adams by David McCullough and it has shown me two things.
John Adams is the true father of this country, philosophically. That foppish dandy, Thomas Jefferson just had a pretty pen. (Washington, of course, was a total badass.)
Secondly, humanity has always been divided into my standard three categories: Those who want to tell people what to do (Tories), those who want to be told what to do (timid) and those who just want to be left alone (True Blue).
We're lucky the true blue won that time. Happy Independence Day!
