You know, I'm tempted to refer to her with the only word I find vulgar in response to this.

I am not a robot (sadly).  I am not mindnumbed.  I am not at the whims of advertisers.  I've managed to quite successfully not buy a stupid iPad no matter what Jobs tries to do.  I think I can resist a food commercial. 

I do not have children but I remember being a child.  And you know what?  There is a magic way to control what your children eat.  Buy.  Them.  Healthy.  Stuff.  There is also a magic way to control your child's begging for treats.  You.  Say.  No.

Also, really, does anyone at all believe that there will not be regulations on food?  Anyone?  At all?  This has been coming for years (I'm looking at you Bloomberg) and I do not feel tinhatty at all for thinking this is on the way.  If there can be bans on smoking in your own car if kids are present, there can be bans on what you eat. 

I repeat - if the government cannot tell me whether or not I can put a dick in my mouth, the government cannot tell me whether or not I can put a donut in it.  I'm not simply using the sexual analogy for shock value.  I'm using it because the legal underpinnings of Roe v. Wade and Lawrence v. Texas should apply equally to what I eat as well as to who I eat.  Either I am in control of my body or I am not.  It is that simple.
