I feel left out...

Charles Johnson in his post "Why I Parted Ways With the Right" lays out his 10 reasons he can no longer support the political right:

1. Support for fascists, both in America (see: Pat Buchanan, Robert Stacy McCain, etc.) and in Europe (see: Vlaams Belang, BNP, SIOE, Pat Buchanan, etc.)

2. Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)

3. Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism, climate change denialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.)

5. Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

8. A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)

10. Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)

And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.

I won’t be going over the cliff with them.

What I want to know is why isn't Doubleplusundead mentioned in item 8? Who do you have to kill to be branded a bastion of raging right wing hate speech?

The best thing is comment # 32

So you look at the Nancy Pelosis, Michael Moores, Al Frankens, Cindy Sheehans, Jimmy Carters and Al Sharptons of the world and you conclude that the left side of the political spectrum is where sanity and moderation exists? I can't understand this.
I have the feeling the commenter isn't long for the LGF world.

Oh well at least Charles now admits he is a raging leftard.

1 I'm debating if his "reasoning" is born of stupidity or laziness.

2 not surprisingly, Politico has picked up on this

3 My Top 3 Reasons Why I Don't Read LGF Anymore:

1. I never really read the blog in the first place.

2.

3. PROFIT!!!

4 Sounds like the male version of Cindy Shehan.

5 I stopped reading Johnson because of his obsessive atheism.  I'm Ok with people choosing unbelief.  I think they are wrong, but I'm not going to obsess over their decision.  But I'm a Christian and Johnson's rantings finally started to offend me.  And then it just got boring.  He was on my favorites list for four years and then I finally just took him off.  Replaced him with Atlas Shrugged.  She's way better looking anyway and there is always an off chance of a bikini blog.

6 Maybe Chas and Andrew Sullivan can hook up... They both went off the rails together... Do you suppose it is something in the water? tom

7 As I read through this list, I kept thinking "That's crazy.....that's BS....this guy's a liberal by every POV." This whine is so leftward that it runs in circles.

8 LGF has gone BEYOND jumping the shark.

9 I'll keep beating this horse until it's super dead, but I need to stress once again that it's way way way easier being queer around the Right than it is to be Republican around Gay, Inc.  Not that either is easy, mind, but I personally experience far less hostility from the religious right haters than I do the ever so open minded and tolerant gay community.

This also drives me batshit but if opposition to gay marriage is the sine non qua of homophobia, then President Obama is an enormous homophobe.  I hate hate hate that he gets a pass on that.  Seriously, it drives me nuts.

10 Charles was pretty liberal prior to Sept 11. Liberal and fascinated with music and bike riding. I think he never really was conservative but was anti-Jihadist which throughout the W administration was often the same thing. Now, I guess he no longer thinks so. It'll be interesting to see if he gains fans on the left or if he's considered a heretic.

11 It's no news flash that Charlie's morphed into a Godless, leftist pinhead with the IQ of a swim fin. I'm assuming he suffered some sort of a head injury or perhaps a debilitating onset of dementia.

The good news for him is that there are many like-minded Godless leftist pinheads out there who'll read his retarded ramblings with wonderment and glee. Yes, their lips will be moving as they read.

I once read LGF daily. It always seemed I had just missed the open door to be allowed in the lizard army.

After a while I was allowed to comment on the threads. It seemed, at the time, the attraction had worn off. Then strange things began happening. My last post was followed by a warning: I could be banned for the content, warned not by Chuck, by readers who wanted me to post more.

All I can say is: Two Buck Chuck is nothing but an opportunist, he has no convictions, other than his quest for numbers and hatred for Christians.

Recently upgraded to Win7, lost my password, kind of like that rash finally clearing up.

13 Chuckie's place was really the first blog I ever followed with regularity. It's sad that it has sunk to the level it has. All because of narrow mindedness and intolerance on his part.  Sad part is that he can't even see it.

15 talking about 'hate speech' is a dead giveaway!

Mr. John's 'morph' is something that is, of course, his choice, but leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

When he first started speaking of the 'racists' and 'white supremacists' I was a bit taken aback.  I had not thought of these people in that way, but LGF had shined light on many items one didn't normally see in the news.  So I stuck with it.  His investigations into various media frauds, as well as linking to hateful left wing protests were second to none!

The the infatuation with 'creationists' and rooting them out wherever they are.  One can debate the merits and such of creationism, but in LGF, it was reported as a dire emergency that needed to be addressed immediately.  With all that is going on in the world, whether someone thinks an intelligent being started life on earth or not is not high on my list of priorities.

Now we see Climategate.  Charles Johnson, who lead the way on various investigations tells us not to pay attention - no biggy.  Data dump?  Meh.  Getting editors fired for publishing articles that question AGW?  Yawn.

This takes us then full circle.  I now question his reporting on global jihad.  Did he fluff this as well?  Were isolated incidents blown out of proportion?  Did he ignore good stories of Islam in favor of the bad?

His entire body of work is now in question, which to me, is the definition of 'how the mighty have fallen.'

17 The real reasons: 1) I thought that the 2006 election meant that conservatism and the right was rejected so I'd need to change to keep readers and make money 2) I couldn't get any further than LGF as long as I was known to be on the right, but by becoming a lefty I can become a media darling and get a music contract!

18 I'm not as charitable as some of you folks. I think that charles johnson is an idiot and would be hard pressed to pour piss out of a boot correctly, with instructions on the heel of it. I believe that he's (as someone else said) an opportunist who runs a website. Other than that, he's pretty much like Samuel Clemens described the French..he has no morals.
For all his talk about Christians and how we're "evil", the retard sure does forget that our entire system of law was founded on Judeochristian ideals and precepts. He's not worth the salt it took to make him.

19 There is a saying in Japan --- Japanese porn actress to the top of a military.
