Half of GOP think ACORN stole the election?
Politicalwire reports:
Of course, I completely believe that ACORN fraud was attempted on a massive scale, and accomlished on a somewhat smaller scale, but it was in no way determinative for the election. ACORN as a civic organization has been --or at least should be, if it has not been-- completely deligitimized.
But the bastard won. Period.
Folks need to accept that a clear majority voted for Obama. If we want any chance of winning elections in the future we need to squelch the magical thinking that Obama will just go away. Such thinking only distracts from the real work and thought that needs to be done in order to start repairing conservatives' relationship with the electorate.

A new Public Policy Polling survey finds that 52% of Republican voters nationally think that ACORN stole the Presidential election for Barack Obama last year, with only 27% granting that he won it legitimately. Is that just delusional? Probably. But it now makes sense that Doug Hoffman is playing up the ACORN conspiracy theory in the NY-23 special election.Ok, that's just sad. Not as sad as the continuing efforts to establish Obama's constitutional ineligibility for one reason or another (-and let me tell you, the conspiracy theories are still mutating and proliferating on the email chains), but still pretty sad.

But I can still think it, right? I mean, I won't tell anyone.

Why can't we believe it, the Demoncrats believe that Algore won Florida, despite the fact that Demoncrats there are submorons and senile.

Where the hell is that coming from? You know, I'm pretty up on VRWC stuff and I have to say this is the first I've heard that ACORN stole the election outright. Also, I'm looking at the crosstabs on page 5 and that only shows 26% overall who think the election was stolen with 49% of McCain supporters who think it was stolen. Where the hell is the 52% of Republicans nationally coming from? What was the sample size?
Bluntly, I think this survey is full of crap.

The 52% is on pg 8 of those godawful ugly crosstabs.
I think PPP is a Dem firm, but still.
They're saying N=1066 Registered voters. (not "likely" or "actual", though the McCain vote would imply actual for that x-tab.)

And to anyone asking my permission to believe something, obviously you don't need it, but since you're asking I'd rather you didn't. It's a counterproductive use of your brain and keeps you from observing and dealing with the objective reality that a majority of voters voted in a guy who I would characterize as a Fabian socialist.

Perhaps that result goes along with what Ace was talking about on polls yesterday.
If you don't like the guy at that time, you'll just answer negatively on every question.
Now if you were going to ask me about some other elections, I'd say "Probably", but Obama's?
They didn't need ACORN, they had John McCain.
And of course Minitru was working for Obama.
Obama was a blank slate on which everybody painted their hopes, dreams and hallucinations. (Hi Althouse!), there's no stronger delusion than self-delusion.
And maybe that's another reason for this, they want to blame somebody, anybody, for Obama.

I was very disappointed in Hoffman's letter. It was poorly written, poorly sourced, whiny, and paranoid. He should have taken the high road and let the street bandy about the conspiracy theories.

^I agree. He seemed to have already been viewed as an "outsider" in NY 23, and being portrayed as a sore loser just doesn't help.

Really?
OHIO: before the election. 200,000+ 'early ballots' contested by the OH-GOP for either 'no matching name' or 'no matching address'.
RESULT: Ohio SoS says 'they're cool', piss off.
Question: how much did Obaka win Ohio by?
Fact, not fiction.
You're entitled to your opinion, and like-wise for me. I ain't gonna piss and moan about it, but he's in for the same reason Kennedy beat Nixon.
Pretending '08 was a 'clean' election is your affair.
