Maybe, maybe not.
Read this and this in their entirety then come back and tell me where yours is.
Then go vote for McCain. Seriously. We can't let this happen.

All these posts, and I have yet to see any of you giving any reason to vote for McCain other than he's not Obama.
What the evidence about Obama actually points to is not that he's a Marxist. It points to the fact that he's attracted to power, just like any other politician. When he needs someone, he's friends with them and uses them. Then, once he no longer needs them, under the bus they go.
He wants power and he'll want to say in power once he's elected (assuming he is). Which means in office he's pursue an aggressive foreign policy and a centrist domestic policy, because that's what will keep him in power.
And your fear of his being a Marxist is rather laughable. We already have Marx's idea--the progressive income tax--in place, for a long time. And the EIC is exactly the sort of redistributionism you condemn--but I haven't seen McCain or any other Republican call for repealing that.
IOW, socialism had been the dominant philosophy of both parties for a long time already. They only differ in the people who get to suck at the public trough. The Democrats want to vastly increase it. But the Republicans don't want to reduce the number to zero, and until they do, they're not really any better than the Democrats.
If you are voting for McCain the Socialist, be my guest. But at least give a positive reason why he would be a good POTUS.
I don't know of any. In the name of maverickyness, he'll do everything the Democrats will ask him to do. He'll combine the worst features of both parties. But of course, I'm voting for Barr, and a plague on both their houses.

Oh, and Barr can't win, and shouldn't have taken the L nomination. He's a drug warrior at heart.

For the rest of you, I have only two things to say:
Obama doesn't believe in Marxism. Obama believes in Obama. Whatever he needs to do to get into office and stay there, he does, and once a person has served his purpose, he gets rid of them. I expect that by the end of an Obama presidency, he'll have thrown the whole Democratic party under the bus.
And as for McCain, just remember when you vote for him that you are voting for Hope and Change. You're Hoping he's Changed into a real conservative,. against all the evidence. He's less of a conservative than George W. Bush, and he'll be eager to sign onto almost anything the Democrats in Congress send him just to prove he's bipartisan. Do you really want to vote for that?

Not really, but then I don't buy your premise that Obama is just a Clinton-like opportunist. Trust me, we know McCain is going to try and screw over us the second he's sworn in. We know that going in, we know that stopping Obama is just the first fight. The next four years are going to suck ass no matter what, but they're going to suck slightly less with McCain in charge as opposed to Obama. McCain has his ugly side, but the strongarm nature of Obama's campaign and the insanity, cultist behavior and aggression of his supporters means that stopping them takes priority.
