Desperation

Hillary Clinton's campaign staff actually opened up a hotline for people to call in to suggest ways of beating Barack Obama in the primary.  I'm thinking its pretty safe to say...its ovah!  I never thought I'd see this, I so thought Hill was gonna be the nominee, and we were gonna have a brutal slugfest with her until election day for so long.  Who could have predicted this?  I had heard of Barack Obama before his election run, a political science professor had said he was a politician to watch for, and sure enough, here he is, taking out Hillary.

1 I always figured she's be the Dem nominee, but would get creamed in the general.

2 I've long thought she wouldn't be the nominee, since she's got super high negatives and lots of Dems are sick of them.

Granted, I thought McCain wouldn't be the nominee for analogous reasons, giving my logic a certain nuance.

3 Oh, and Hilary voted for the Iraq War, and I kind of think that's a liberal litmus test.  Maybe less so now.

4 I kept telling friends that if the dems were smart they'd shed the Clintons this year.  I'm shocked to see they may actually be smart enough to do so.

5 Ugh. My relish for this moment -- which I have anticipated for years -- is substantially diminished by the fact I hate the guy who's beating her out and I hate our guy almost as much. Can't they all lose?
