Danish Police Break up Plot to Kill Cartoonist

Police broke up the plot early, long before the jihadis had a chance to make their attack on cartoonist Kurt Westergaard.  Two of the men involved in the murder plot were from Tunisia, the other is a Dane of Moroccan background.   Westergaard is known for making the famous cartoon of Mohammed with a bomb turban for the Jyllands-Posten paper, which gave an excuse for jihadis and their supporters to froth and riot.

Its amazing how over the edge an old man with a pen and paper can send these tools, in any case, he's not giving in to them,

"Of course I fear for my life when the police intelligence service say that some people have concrete plans to kill me. But I have turned fear into anger and resentment," Westergaard said in a statement published on Jyllands-Posten's Web site.

The article makes note of the attacks on Danish embassies during the riots, the threats on Jyllands-Posten, the paper that published the cartoons, and a failed terrorist attack on German trains, which was motivated by the cartoons.  One of the jihadis is on trial for the failed train attack in Dusseldorf, while another will be staying in a Lebanese prison for 12 years because of his role in the attack.

I'm glad that the Danish police are keeping an eye out for these activities, lets hope they can keep this guy, the Jyllands-Posten crew and the other cartoonists safe, the jihadis are obviously not gonna let this one go.
