BAG Day's Coming

BAG Day's coming on Thursday so here's a taste of BAG-Days past.


I got the Wildey two BAG-Days ago. The best pic I have of it is below a .500 S&W for scale.

I'm going to the tax-day tea party but I can't find a schedule, unless the only affair is starting at nearly 6pm.
I'm still planning on putting up the BAG Day post early, so send me pics to veeshir at the hotmail place with BAG day as the subject by either Wednesday night or early Thursday.

We really need a nationwide airline boycott

First it was checked baggage fees.
Next it was fees for blankets and pillows.

I could live with those.  I don't like them but I could live with them.

Now airlines are considering charging to use the bathroom and a carry-on bag fee.  What's next depressurizing the plane at 35000 feet and charging an oxygen access fee?

Britain takes small step toward sanity

The headline looks good enough -- "Foreign workers 'to face English tests'", but it oversells the actual policy.

Apparently, the policy is only for public sector workers:

English tests will be made compulsory for all public sector migrant workers, under manifesto pledges to be announced by Gordon Brown today.

All workers in contact with the public - such as nurses, community support officers, social workers and call centre staff - will have to pass a test to get a job.

At present, the requirement covers only doctors from outside Europe, police officers and teachers.

I was so hoping to post a "Win Britannia!", but no, this is a "FAIL slightly less catastrophically Britannia!"

Last week it emerged that virtually every extra job created since Labour came to power in 1997 has gone to a foreign worker.

Figures suggested an extraordinary 98.5 per cent of 1.67million new posts were taken by immigrants.

The Tories seized on the revelation as evidence that the Government has totally failed to deliver its pledge of 'British jobs for British workers'.

So yeah, that's a pretty big FAIL for ya.

It's not like I want to encourage musicians who have a beef with one another to get violent (especially when they're terribly, horribly mismatched), but Ice-T is engaging in a Twitter fight? With Aimee Mann? Really?

The modern world is rapidly devolving into some kind of parody of real life, and I'm afraid we're all just along for the ride.

(Oh, and 2Pac is probably rolling over in his grave, but it would probably be kind of tough for Biggie to do so.)

Of course, I wanted it to happen during a Cowboys/Eagles, Monday Night game in the 70s. 
I really wanted to sing, "Turn out the lights, the party's over" as the roof collapsed on Dandy Fucking Don and Howard and both of those teams.
