Yeah, that's the ticket

Markos Mouzzafava comes up with three reasons why Deeds and Corzine lost.  His conclusion? The candidates weren't liberal enough.

2010, here we come.

Umm...About Those "Jobs Created/Saved" Claims.....

A few days ago, Geoff called out some numbers about the Obama "Jobs Saved/Created" bit in all its chartastic goodness.

Well, it looks as though he may have been very prescient in asserting the dubious nature of these claims. First of all, certain ZIP Codes appear to be gaining more jobs than people. Then, "fuzzy math" from the White House makes a cameo appearance.

Oh well. Nice to see we have the "Best and the Brightest" working on our behalf, right?

True Profiles In Courage

I am fucking sick and tired of people misusing the "Speaking Truth To Power" line in this country. You want to see real courage? You want to see real "truth to power"? Check out this Iranian Student confronting top clerics in public.

This international mathematics Olympiad winner blasted Khamenei in person in an unexpected move, focusing on “supreme leader’s performance” and the “lack of criticism against supreme leader.”

In addition to criticizing Khamenei personally and the office of the supreme leader, this student also criticized the state radio and television’s biased coverage of issues and the police’s brutal crackdown of people protesting against the election results.

Ayatollah Khamenei was forced to respond to the student’s criticism, but according to several eye-witness sources, the supreme leader was so distraught by the student’s remarks that he cancelled the usual prayer session and left the meeting early.

Folks, never forget these people. They truly are taking their lives into their hands to speak out. Never forget the Poles, the Hondurans, the Koreans, or any other people around the world who try to speak out in the face of true threats, violence, intimidation, and torture.

Thanks to Veeshir

***UPDATE*** Wel, well, well. Take a look at how many young Iranians are commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the capture of the US Embassy in Iran.

Hey Democrats! Get A Mop!

And clean up the mess Obama made for you tonight!

Yeah, I am pissed that the NRCC and RNC fucked us over in NY 23, but two out of three is not bad. And seeing ACORN fail in NJ does help my cold evil heart feel better tonight.

****MEGA CRITICAL UPDATE!1!!1****

HERE IS A VIDEO DEPICTION OF THE MESSAGE WE NEED TO SEND TO THE NRCC/RNC

Time to send a message

This is an excellent column about how it's long past time to give the GOP establishment thre finger:

“No one’s life is a waste,” a colleague wrote me in reaction to Dede Scozzafava’s withdrawal from the NY-23 congressional election. “You can always serve as a bad example.”

While we can certainly agree with this statement, it is about time we ask, how many bad examples does the Republican establishment need before it learns its lesson?
It goes on to discuss a veritable rogue's gallery of RINOs that the RNC, the NRSC, and the NRCC have supported over conservative challengers.

If they don't learn from the Scozzafava debacle (and what are the chances that they will?) we need to hit them where it hurts by denying them money. The article also gives suggestions on how to do that while still supporting conservatives.

(Swiped from Rosetta, who writes, "If you ever find yourself looking at a fundraising letter from the RNC, foolishly thinking about sending them a check, read this and then hit yourself in the head with a brick.")

How do you write "Not this one, idiot!" on your brain?

If managed care means I'm going to have to let Rhode Island Hospital perform surgery on me, I might as well kill myself now.

Seriously, how do you operate on the wrong part of the brain three times?

To: Obama and the Left. From: Poland.

Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you with the tip of a Hussar's sword soaked in the blood of combat for leaving Poland exposed to the Russians.

The armed forces are said to have carried out "war games" in which nuclear missiles were fired and troops practised an amphibious landing on the country's coast.

Documents obtained by Wprost, one of Poland's leading news magazines, said the exercise was carried out in conjunction with soldiers from Belarus.

The manoeuvres are thought to have been held in September and involved about 13,000 Russian and Belarusian troops.

Poland, which has strained relations with both countries, was cast as the "potential aggressor".

The documents state the exercises, code-named "West", were officially classified as "defensive" but many of the operations appeared to have an offensive nature.

The Russian air force practised using weapons from its nuclear arsenal, while in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, which neighbours Poland, Red Army forces stormed a "Polish" beach and attacked a gas pipeline.

The operation also involved the simulated suppression of an uprising by a national minority in Belarus – the country has a significant Polish population which has a strained relationship with authoritarian government of Belarus.

Karol Karski, an MP from Poland's Law and Justice, is to table parliamentary questions on Russia's war games and has protested to the European Commission.

His colleague, Marek Opiola MP, said: "It's an attempt to put us in our place. Don't forget all this happened on the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland."

Ordinary Poles were outraged by news of the exercise and demanded a firm response from the government.

Which government? Certainly not ours.

And to think, Poland has been willing to join every alliance with the United States, and the shitheads in power now do this to them? That is a fucking disgrace.

Better than you

No, surprisingly enough, this is not a post about the GOP, it's about Illinois Nazis.... Democrats.
Quote
Chicago aldermen with their noses out of joint Friday demanded to know why they are searched along with the masses at the city's central headquarters for administrative hearings.

"So where's the Nazi part Veeshir? Did you misread this one too?" you ask? (Stop asking so many questions, and it's Mr Veeshir to you)
Quote
"It's not a matter of giving anybody any preference. But us that are aldermen -- we are the ones who set your budget. If we're the ones setting your budget maybe we'll take an adjustment" downward, if the policy is not rescinded, Austin warned.

It's not a matter of giving anybody preference, but give them preference or they'll cut your budget.
Unbelievabile.

(By the way, if you're going to be a snotty, superior jackace, use good grammar "But we that are...")

Of course the voters there will never elect Republicans or conservatives because they'll take away Chicagoan's rights or something.

Another Agitator link, if you guys would read him I wouldn't have to steal so much of his stuff.

Giant Jellyfish Vs. Japanese Fishing Trawler: Who Ya Got?

At least it wasn't Godzilla.

The crew of the fishing boat was thrown into the sea when the vessel capsized, but the three men were rescued by another trawler, according to the Mainichi newspaper. The local Coast Guard office reported that the weather was clear and the sea was calm at the time of the accident.

One of the largest jellyfish in the world, the species can grow up to 2 meters in diameter. The last time Japan was invaded on a similar scale, in the summer of 2005, the jellyfish damaged nets, rendered fish inedible with their toxic stings and even caused injuries to fishermen.

Relatively little is known about Nomura's jellyfish, such as why some years see thousands of the creatures floating across the Sea of Japan on the Tsushima Current, but last year there were virtually no sightings. In 2007, there were 15,500 reports of damage to fishing equipment caused by the creatures.

Experts believe that one contributing factor to the jellyfish becoming more frequent visitors to Japanese waters may be a decline in the number of predators, which include sea turtles and certain species of fish.

A friendly PSA to everyone above...a certain age

The word "gangbangers" no longer means what it once did.  Stop using it to describe gang members.  It only confuses/titillates the young people.

Old people shouldn't internet

John McCain comes out against net neutrality, introducing a bill that gives your ISP the right to choke off your porn downloads.  And of course, it's called the opposite of anything that makes any sense - as if calling it the Internet Freedom Act will obfuscate the fact that the only thing that it makes free is the ability of your ISP to keep you from looking at what they think you shouldn't.

For just a second there, I thought, thank heavens this asshat isn't our president.  And then I remembered Obamacare.

I voted!

AND I DID NOT GET AN I VOTED STICKER!  YES THIS IS CAPS WORTHY.  THE ENTIRE POINT OF VOTING BEFORE WORK IS TO GET AN I VOTED STICKER TO SHOW OFF HOW MUCH BETTER YOU ARE!

Ahem.  I'm fine.  Really.  Fine.

I was number 88 to vote at 8:10 this morning.  That's pretty damn good since I think there's about 2,000 people total in my town.

My local races are really interesting this year since the county below me has a huge, huge, huge judicial scandal going on.  I can't wait to see if the rest of the judges up for retention get thrown out as well.

Milk Bone(r)

Via the Agitator we find this story about a hand-job by VA correctional officers that has them in big trouble.
So why is a hand-job such a problem? Are they jerking off prisoners? Getting jerked off by prisoners?
Just because the Funniest End of Civilization Ever has gotten more endy than funny lately doesn't mean it's not still funny.

"I would characterize it as hazing," he said, claiming that Thompson was told by the others, "If you masturbate your K-9 unit, you'll have greater control over it."

Bwahahahaha. I prefer to beat mine to get greater control, not beat him off.

Oh, and I'll field this question
Asked if he knew why the officers videotaped the incidents, Beasley replied: "I don't have the slightest idea -- I really don't.

People are idiots.

Or didn't you notice the guy was jerking off his dog?

Great news!

It seems that fires were down a whopping twelve percent in America's worst urban hellhole this Halloween weekend!

The city saw a 12 percent drop in fires over the three-day period around Halloween compared to a year ago, Mayor Dave Bing announced this morning.

"This shows a small number of people can have a big impact," said Bing, who added that an unknown number of city employees who generally help patrol the city did not participate this year because of battles over wage concessions.

According to fire department statistics released at a noon press conference in the City Hall, there were 119 fires -- 91 of which were suspicious -- from Thursday to Saturday. Last year, there were 136 fires during the same period, 94 of which were suspicious. In 2007, there were 142 fires of which 111 were suspicious, according to the city.

Thank goodness there were three whole fewer suspicious fires in Detroit this year than last year.  Victory!

Remind me, which political party has run Detroit (and most of the country's major cities that have been sliding into ruin, for that matter) for the last few decades?

If You Like Bureaucracies, You'll Love Pelosicare

I want to come up with something silly to say, but I think the words speak for themselves.

Among some off the new agencies, the list cites a Health Insurance Exchange; the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation; the Public Health Investment Fund; the Public Health Workforce Corps; an Assistant Secretary for Health Information; the Food and Drug Administration Office of Women's Health; grant programs for alternative medical liability laws, infant mortality programs and other issues; and about 100 other government-sponsored creations.

Folks, this is why fight. We need to stop this shit in its tracks.

Film Be Upon Him

Okay, so this could be interesting or..... not.
I'm going with "not".

Budgeted at around $150m (£91.5m), the film will chart Muhammad's life and examine his teachings. Osborne (producer Barrie Osborne of The Matrix and LOTR V) told Reuters that he envisages it as "an international epic production aimed at bridging cultures. The film will educate people about the true meaning of Islam".

I'm betting a dollar it obfuscates more than it teaches.

There will be no mention of the treachery implicit in "hudna" and how Mohamed used it to treacherously attack his enemies. He gave a cease-fire when he was losing until he was strong enough to win, and then struck, the model for all the hudnas since. A temporary truce until the Moslems are ready. Like Hamas gives to Israel whenever they're suffering from too many leaders blown up by the IDF syndrome.

There will also be no mention of a 9 year old bride. If there is an Aisha, she'll be a young looking 18.

They will almost definitely mention that Mohamed used to pray facing Jerusalem but changed because of the dastardly Jews.

And they'll ignore stuff like jizya or dhimmi or anything that might make Islam look bad or end up with theaters being blown up.

And the funniest part? They'll make it as saccharin and pro-Islam as they can without saying that Mohamed wrote the Constitution, the Magna Carta and the $1 menu at McDonald's and they'll still get a fatwa and be the subject of Friday prayers from Dearborn to Mecca.

Updated with title, I couldn't think of one and forgot one so I just stuck that lame one in there.
Further update

I stand correct
Quote
In accordance with Islamic law, the prophet will not actually be depicted on screen.
Saccharine and useless.

It's almost as if they knew what they wuz doing

Bwahahaha.

He would have done it too if it weren't for that damn Constitution!

Yet a year after the November 4 election, the checks and balances the founding fathers built into the US political system to moderate the revolutionary zeal of its early settlers have worked, all too well, to blunt Obama's agenda.

And understand, she says that like it's a bad thing.
You see, that darn piece of paper that made America both the greatest nation and the greatest force for good this sorry world has ever seen is just getting in the way of Obama beginning his new era of peace, love, understanding and shutting up anyone who disagrees with Him.
