Sir Edmund Hillary, who is famous for his climbing of Mount Everest has died at the age of 88.  Many have since climbed Everest, but he was the first to do it.  Everest is still a very dangerous mountain to climb, the cold, terrain, and thin air near the top are brutal, and people still die trying to climb it.
