Badass Defined
British Army Captain and Iraq War veteran Bernie Bambury, from 4th Battalion The Rifles lost his leg during a bobsled run, when he clipped a marking post with his leg going about 80mph. So manly is he that he didn't even realize he had lost the leg until he was told he lost it at the bottom of the run. The limb was found and reattached by surgeons.
The captain was then told by those surgeons that it would take two years before he would be even be able to walk, and even then, he might not have full function. The captain looked at the surgeons and said "cut it off," because having it removed and getting a prosthetic would put him back in service quicker than letting the reattached leg heal. Bad. Ass.
