Think you'll like this

Some of you may have noticed, a few of us who contribute to doubleplusundead have been getting pwn3d by Real LifeTM.  As a result, the amount of crap quality content we provideaily has dropped somewhat, which meant it was time to do some recruiting.  I think you're gonna like my first pick.  If you read this crappy blog or Ace's on any regular basis, you probably already know this person.  Got a guess?  Give up?  Okay, here you go,

"The outstanding leadership of Mr. Frank Raines"

Make sure everyone you know who's on the fence in this election sees videos like this and the one I posted yesterday.

Just a reminder: Palin is no Mitt Romney

He's so much better, don't you understand.  So much more dynamic

Philly's gun control measures rejected by courts

Awesome.  Basically, the Soviet of Philly tried to pass a bunch of gun control laws and an spooky lookin' weapons ban, even though they knew and pretty much acknowledged they were in direct violation of PA gun laws, which Philly has to abide by.  The courts unceremoniously smacked Philly down.  Apparently this isn't the first time the Soviet of Philly has tried this.

Something I've also wondered is if one of the "reasonable" gun control measures the Democrats are thinking of is a federal measure that would allow cities to set their own policies.  This would mean the federal law would override the state laws and give places like Philly the go-ahead to undermine Constitutional rights.

One Thought About The Day-AFter Analysis Of The Debate

CNN and CBS have been hyping their slanted snap polls in an effort to shape opinion a day out of the debate. Here is why the meme setting and "analysis" of snap polls is so critical, and must be fought, courtesy of Jeffrey Toobin:

JEFFREY TOOBIN: What is significant, I think, about these polls is there tends to be a multiplier effect when these -- about these debates. That, initially, people aren't quite sure, but once one side is established as the winner, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy....It is very important, I think, that the first objective analysis -- you know, not from us, but from polls, and I think it's consistent across the networks -- all show Obama winning.

I already see two memes being established:
1) Obama tied, so he won.
2) McCain was "disdainful", with comparisons to Gore in 2000.

This needs to be pushed back, because too many people didn't watch the raw footage of the debates, instead relying upon what the Deciders are telling them they saw.

Interview with Sen. Jim DeMint

Jim DeMint has been a great Senator, something that can't be said about most of the rest.  Hawkins has an interview up with Sen. DeMint at RWN, discussing the financial crisis, do check it out.

The (oh so subtle) playing of the race card

Gee, I wonder where this analysis of the debate came from. Was it from the Weekly Standard? Or maybe, was it from National Review? It must have come from one of those Reichwing RAAAACIIIIISSSTT!!!!one1!!1!! publications, right?

On the merits, the debate was more of a draw, so that doesn't explain the results. I wonder if there was something else at play. It was like people WANTED to like the black guy but weren't sure.

And tonight reassured them, given his calm poise and wry humor, that Barack Obama was more like Will Smith than Wesley Snipes.

Oops, sorry. It was issued by Markos himself.

My very first conspiracy theory!

Earlier today, Barack Obama urged people to watch the debate on CNN (h/t):

And now this.  In a post entitled "Obama Won," Quin Hillyer writes (emphasis mine):

Two caveats: First, because of some incredibly bad transportation luck, I missed the first 17 minutes of the debate, so if there were knock-out blows during those 17 minutes, I missed them. Second, I cheated: I watched very closely the CNN response dial. The dial clearly showed that Obama won. And the dial matched my impressions.
I want to know who was in those focus groups, and how "independent" they actually are.  Hey, I'm just "raising questions."

How Poorly Did The Messiah Fare Tonight?

So poorly, Chris Matthews' Leg is upset at him.

MATTHEWS: By the way, you go back to the Kennedy-Nixon debate of 1960, the first televised debate.  Seven or eight times Richard Nixon said "I agree completely in the spirit in which Senator Kennedy addressed that issue."  Over and over again.  For some reason Barack Obama repeated those words as if he were channeling Richard Nixon tonight!

Expect a call from Kos and MediaMatters to attend "reeducation camps" tomorrow. Come Monday, I expect Matthews to have a giant bandage on the frontal lobe area of his head.

Thanks to Newsbusters.

How did we get here?

The following video is a pretty good summary of how this whole economic clusterfuck got rolling:

Come to Kentucky: We'll cut your junk off!

Yes, we really will!

A lawyer for a Kentucky doctor being sued over the amputation of a patient's penis said Friday the procedure was "medically necessary" and authorized by the patient.

Attorney Clay Robinson said Dr. John Patterson performed the surgery because the patient, Phillip Seaton, 61, had cancer.

Patterson was given permission to perform any medical procedure deemed necessary, Robinson said.

Well, he's married, so it wasn't like he was using it anyway.

Note to self: When confronted with cancer, always ask the doctor to consult you before cutting off your man parts.

In these times of economic uncertainty...

...there are some time-honored traditions you know you can always rely on.  Like family and friends.  Like neighbors looking out for each other.  But most of all, when the chips are down and you're feeling blue about what's going on in this crazy, mixed-up world, you can count on...Big Boob Fridayâ„¢ to give you, er, a boost.

The Coming Police State (With Pixie Dust!)

While I'm polishing off my ridiculous rant (3500 words or so) I thought I'd bitch about Obama a bit to cleanse the pallet.  It seems that Obama's surrogates are threatening the FCC licenses of radio stations that run pro 2nd Amenment ads:

I have friends that say they're voting for Obama because Bush took away too many of their rights. I don't dispute that the Bush regime has taken away a lot of civil liberties and that's nothing I'm proud of. Point taken.

But what the Dimocrats don't get is that taking away my gun rights is no better. And they don't give a tinker's damn about my 2nd amendment rights, as witnessed by the telling comments of impeached federal judge and Democratic House Leader Alcee Hastings.

Hastings told an audience of Jewish Democrats Wednesday that they should be wary of Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin because "anybody toting guns and stripping moose don't care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks."

So, all gun owners are genocidal racists. Thanks for that, Criminal Hastings. Glad to see you're not painting people with a broad brush.

Meanwhile, not only does Obama want to ban the sale and transfer of all semi-automatic firearms. Not only does he want to ban the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns. His campaign is now threatening to have the FCC revoke the licenses of the television stations if they don't drop NRA ads that accurately depict his position on the 2nd amendment.

Allowing advertisement that accurately depict his rabid anti-gun history aren't okay but receiving untold millions in in-kind contributions from a friendly media and astroturfing PR firms is?  I guess its because any legitimate issue raised against Obama is a distraction and should be illegal while anything supporting him is divine and should be supported.

I wonder if Obama's thought police will have unicorns on their badges.

Kathleen Parker makes National Review proud

Q: You know what would win the election for McCain?

A: Getting Sarah Palin off the ticket!

My guess is that in these tough economic times, we need someone like Mitt Romney at the VP helm.

Update: Someone (probably) smarter than I rips Parker apart here.
