Where's My Fucking Flying Car?

Maybe here?

The Transition is not a flying car. The vehicle, set to go on sale next year, will cruise smoothly on the road and through the sky. It will have four wheels, Formula One–style suspension, and a pair of 10-foot-wide wings that fold up when it switches from air to asphalt. And when the engineers at Terrafugia in Woburn, Massachusetts, let me sit inside their just-finished proof-of-concept vehicle and grab the steering wheel, it’s easy to imagine piloting this thing up and out of traffic, into the open skies.

But we’re not talking about a flying car. The Transition is a “roadable aircraft.” The team makes this distinction clear in conversation, on Terrafugia T-shirts, and in big, blue letters on the side of the trailer outside their shop.

Sounds like it's "not a flying car" the way Barack Obama is "not a socialist" or alexthechick "is not a BDSM freak."

Now, all we need to make the promise of the 21st century a reality is an obedient android sex slave.  For um.... other, lonely guys who are not sucessful with the ladies.

McCain: Oh, by the way, did I mention he's black?

Oh wait, it was Barack Obama who said that.  My mistake.  Nevertheless, it's the McCain camp who is race-baiting according to the New York Times (emphasis mine):

"Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin have been running one of the most appalling campaigns we can remember," the Tuesday editorial said. "They have gone far beyond the usual fare of quotes taken out of context and distortions of an opponent’s record — into the dark territory of race-baiting and xenophobia. Senator Barack Obama has taken some cheap shots at Mr. McCain, but there is no comparison."
I think that, since they're officially racist no matter what they do, they might as well bring up Jeremiah Wright.

Somewhat related: The Politico finally gets around to noting how Obama campaigns differently around different ethnic/economic groups.

Will Sarah Palin Be Blamed For This Moose's Death?

It appears as though a female moose that wandered into the town of Ishpeming  in Michigan Upper Peninsula. The only problem? The Department of Natural Resources felt they had to shoot the moose?

And who did they blame? Sarah Palin?

Well, almost.

Bjorne says the public's interference, in their efforts to see the moose and get pictures, prevented the police and DNR biologists from getting the cow moose and her two calves to a safe area.

He says, after more than five hours of being herded around and trying to avoid people, the cow was overly stressed.

Bjorne says tranquilizing the animal would have caused more stress, and probably would have resulted in the animal's death, anyway.

The decision to put down the mother moose was made after she was approaching officers on the Heritage Trail by the old Brownstone.

The moose calves have left the area, and a DNR biologist says without a mother, their chances of surviving have been lessened, but they likely had already been weaned off of their mother.

WWI Trench Art

If you've never seen WWI trench art, it's interesting.  There's a lot of it floating around, you can find examples of it on auction sites sometimes.  Some of it was just stuff that soldiers would make during their spare time, but others, like this recently uncovered set of sketches, were done for intelligence gathering.

Philadelphia Sports Phans Are The Phinest Around

Especially when it comes to throwing projectiles at the opposing teams that come in to take on their phine Phillies or Eagles. Just ask Washington Redskins Players after their game with the "Iggles" last Sunday.

"I'm talking about the middle of the bus, like, bammmm, like busted and everything," Kedric Golston said. "I ain't never been thrown eggs at. I mean, at Philly, they throw everything."

"My bus only got hit with one egg, but I had my headphones on listening to music, and it was like two windows back, and all you hear was thump," Mike Sellers said. "Everybody starts cracking up, it was like, 'Oh we got here, here it comes.'

"It must have been one of those big ones too, an ostrich egg," Golston said.

"It was crazy, though, because the egg was actually thrown in front of the bus," Kelly said. "It was like a quarterback almost; you throw it to where the receiver's gonna be at. I was very impressed."

"Very impressed," Thomas agreed. "If they ever had a replacement [team] in Philly, they'd have to get that dude for quarterback, because he hit that thing on point."

"You would think it would probably happen in Dallas

That's not the worst. The children and old ladies got into the act as well.

"We didn't get no eggs," Rock Cartwright said of his bus yesterday. "I just know we got flipped off. By everybody, kids and everything."

"You've got the six -year olds flipping you off, and the dad's patting them on the back," Rabach said.

"They give us the bird, we wave," Sellers said. "The universal greeting, I guess, for Philly."

"Grandma's mooning you," Jon Jansen said.

"Oh yeah, definitely," Rabach said.

"I've had some old ladies moon us, oh yeah," Jansen said.

"It's hard to tell from the backside, to tell you the truth," Rabach said.

"Oh, you can tell," Jansen said. "When it's an old lady, you can tell."

"Even all the fans after the game were flipping [us] off, and we had a couple guys that were gonna moon 'em," Cooley said on Elliot. "We were flipping 'em off back. Our windows are so tinted, I really don't think they can see us."

New code words identified

If you thought the Dems' playing of the race card was stupid before, fasten your seat belts, kids, because we're about to veer hard and fast into the 'tard lane (with my emphasis):

“Some may say their true colors are showing,” said Representative Yvette Clarke of New York. “Others may say they’re just not being thoughtful. But certainly a lot of the language I’ve heard I consider to be incendiary. I believe it is meant to generate a certain sentiment within their base that engenders fear and certainly appeals to a group of people within our society who would pursue this along racial lines.

“It’s very clear,” she said.

Ms. Clarke also found a racial subtext in Ms. Palin’s repeated appeals to “Joe Six-Pack” and “hockey moms.”

“Who exactly is Joe Six-Pack and who are these hockey moms? That’s what I’d like to know,” she said. “Is that supposed to be terminology that is of common ground to all Americans? I don’t find that. It leaves a lot of people out.”

You.  Have.  Got.  To.  Be.  Shitting.  Me.

This stupid bitch (yeah, I'm going to say that, and I'm not gonna apologize for it) thinks "Joe Sixpack," which has been a term that has meant "ordinary voter" for, well, for fucking ever is some kind of racist codeword?  And, um, Yvette, when she says "hockey mom," she means the mothers of kids who have played hockey, or other sports for that matter.  Her kids play hockey.  It's like "soccer moms," but she's, you know, from Alaska, where they probably don't play a lot of soccer, seeing as how the state is covered with snow and ice during a goodly portion of the year.  That's some real KKK-style shit right there.  Yeah.

And this country is about to elect, assuming the polls are correct, more people from this fundamentally stupid, dishonest, and childish party?  We are well and truly fucked, my friends.

And, yes, I'm a racist for writing this post.  And you're a racist for reading it.

Update: I see Vinty referenced the same article in the post below.  Diseased minds think alike!

Guess what guys...Palin's still racist!

I know because some black representatives from New York told me so

“They are trying to throw out these codes,” said Representative Gregory Meeks, a Democrat from New York.

“He’s ‘not one of us?’” Mr. Meeks said, referring to a comment Sarah Palin made at a campaign rally on Oct. 6 in Florida. “That’s racial. That’s fear. They know they can’t win on the issues, so the last resort they have is race and fear.”

But wait, there's more!

“Racism is alive and well in this country, and McCain and Palin are trying to appeal to that and it’s unfortunate,” said Representative Ed Towns, also from New York.

Well, who is this white devil to question Absolute Moral Authority?  I know my place.

Expert opinion

Never mind what the professional analysts or political science eggheads thought about McCain's or Obama's performances at the latest debate, the L.A. Times has the most important analysis of all!

Karen Bradley, a University of Maryland dance professor and expert on body movement, saw the event, perhaps not surprisingly, as "a little dance."
Apparently, they couldn't find a basket weaver for comment.

Not so random thought

My guess is that if you looked at every issue where Obama states he has "consistently said" something, you'll find him stating the exact opposite at some point in the past 19 months.

P.S. - I have never been more happy to miss a debate, as I gather it is the only think that could have made my dead end job more boring.

Some Things To Ponder

Not to go Allahpundit here, but unless the polls dramatically shift after tonight's debate, maybe some hard questions and facts need to be asked and discussed:

  • At what point do we start pouring all of our time, talent, and treasure at the Senate, and keeping it under 60 Dems?
  • 2010 may be another rough year, since many wave Republicans from 2004 will be up for Senate re-election, and states such as MO (old drunk Kit Bond may not even run, or will face a spirited challenger) will face vulnerable incumbents.
  • What can be done to make sure Sarah Palin is viable in 2012, even with all of the press hate she has received?
  • If not Palin, then who should we start pumping at the grass-roots/blog level?
Sorry to be a downer, but barring something unexpected, Maverick may go down, and he may go down hard.

Something to keep in mind with tonight's townhall

This will be another set of "undecided, uncommitted voters", and we all know that almost definitely possibly means.  Townhalls are McCain's strong suit, given that he's been doing them since forever, but even he's going to be limited in what he can do if it's rigged like the youtube debate.

A thousand cuts

Rick Moran says that criticizing Obama for his connections with Ayers is an "exercise in futility", because the voters don't care, because the economy is all that is on their minds.  Yes and no.  If people are hoping that Ayers is going to be Willie Horton or the Swift Boats, they probably are deluding themselves...admittedly stranger things have happened, but I'm guessing it isn't going to happen.  It's also not an "exercise in futility" either.

Odds are, we aren't going to see a singular successful line of attack.  This is going to have to be won bit by bit, person by person.  We have to do whatever we can to make people aware of what Obama is, and how radical he is.  Elections in the modern era are often won simply on how likable a candidate is, and Obama, in the shallowest sense, is likable.  Not likable for us, because we know what he actually is, but for others, the first guy in this parody is a good example of that principle at work,

McCain has to do his part.  I think he should have waited until the debate to attack Obama for his connections to the shady players in the subprime market, and Fannie/Freddie, that would have given him the chance to explain it to the people, unfiltered through the media.  No matter, probably a stylistic difference.

In any case, McCain's got to flip things around and make people aware that this is a Democrat-caused disaster.  He needs to explain what actually happened, and why Obama would be a disaster.  We're going to have to keep him from doing anything that's political suicide as well.  People need to learn about Barney Frank's role, the big players in Freddie/Fannie, and people like Penny Pritzker.  They need to know that these people are closely tied to the Obama campaign.

They need to know about these shady players in the subprime crisis and Obama's close relation to them, and why the market is better than Marxism, because that will be the way we crack the wall.  As long as Obama maintains control of the economy as an issue, it'll be next to impossible to win.  Once we can at least partially take it from him, then connections to people Ayers and Rezko will start mattering, and issues like Life, the Second Amendment, defense, military policy, personal character and other issues start mattering.  We're also going to have to act as enforcers and keep any quisling GOPers from acting as useful idiots and playing the race card for an approving media and Beltway...looking at you, Frum, Parker and Dreher.

We're going to have to be reporters and our own media too.  We used to be able to shame the media into reporting things.  Not anymore. they've flipped the switch and are now Pravda USA.  The importance of spreading information by word of mouth cannot be understated.  Volunteer for the McCain campaign and/or down ticket people if you can.  Have links written down or printed somewhere or bookmarked to hand off or send to people. No reason we can't reverse the current course, but it won't be easy.

She gets caught on the streets on New York by TMZ, gets asked what newspapers and magazines she reads, and has a strangely familiar answer....

Weather Forecast

In New York, we’re keeping our eyes on a widespread baseball-related depression, with some associated angst in Manhattan.  On Wall Street, be sure to watch for falling stock brokers.

Expect continued euphoria and elatement in the Boston area, with the return of insufferablility likely by the end of October.

In the Washington DC area, today’s weather calls for widespread blamestorming, with possible floods of incompetence on Capitol Hill.  Those going outside are advised to wear hip waders.

For residents of the South, we will not present weather, because it appears clear from reports that they are all ignorant rednecks who can’t read anything more complicated than a Bazooka Joe comic.

Florida’s brief Indian Summer should end soon with the collapse of the Rays and the Dolphins, but weather patters are difficult to predict in the “America’s Wang.”

Those in the Great Lakes region are advised to stay indoors to avoid the severe disillusionment in the area, coupled with severe regret in the Green Bay area.  Those in Chicago are advised to watch for falling Cubs fans.

Turning to the Midwest, we expect the drought of respect to continue.

California’s outlook is positive, except for San Francisco, which continues to suffer from self-induced effects Hurricane Pelosi.  This situation is expected to continue for some time.

In Nashville, expect clouds of verbal obfuscation, followed by massive media coverup and boosterism, with a fifty percent possibility of statistical improbability.  Those going outside are advised to watch for falling Republicans.
