Oh, Goddammit, Slublog Tagged Me

I see I got tagged, so I guess I have to post eight facts about myself...curse you Slubbo!

So the rules are, you have to post eight facts about yourself on your blog or in my case, my crapblog, then tag eight others.

Its long, so after the jump,

1.) Fact: I was hoping I'd slip under the radar on this damn tagging thing.  I'm generally a shy person and don't really care for this kind of thing, its way out of my comfort zone.  Ah, the hazards of blogging...this better get me a traffic bump.

2.) Fact/Habit?: I'm obsessed, and I mean obsessed with checking my Sitemeter, in the two to three weeks since I've started blogging, I've become seriously addicted to both the blogging aspect and seeing who visits.  Its just fascinating who comes to visit, from all over the nation, and even from global locations.  I constantly check it, and mine different news sources and blogs for stories.

3.) Fact: I have big feet.  I'll just say my shoe size is bigger than fifteen, and it sucks in a way because I have usually have to order shoes online and hope they fit so I can avoid more shipping costs.  Though there are benefits...

4.)  Fact: I can't watch horror movies anymore.  Somewhere along the line, I couldn't do it anymore.  Its seeing a girl killed or harmed in a sadistic way that makes me unable to watch it.  I just find it very unsettling, abuse of women is something that really just disturbs me in an extremely profound way. Abuse of women is probably what I hate about the Jihadists the most.

5.) Fact/Habit: I am a video game junkie of the highest order.  I play nearly anything.  I started playing the Atari 2600 when I was a youngin, and have been playing video games obsessively since.  I love old classic arcade games, which explains my AoS handle.  I'm also damn good at fighting games, with the exception of Mortal Kombat (which I was never allowed to buy as a kid), I will destroy anyone at Tekken and Street Fighter II.  I also love real time and turn based strategy games. Sid Maier's Alpha Centauri and  Advance Wars ual Strike are my favorite strategies.  My favorite RPGs are KOTOR series and Jade Empire.

6.) Fact: There was a minor shooting at my high school, I wasn't in the room where it happened, but people I care about were.  It influenced my personal philosophy strongly, and I have spent years reflecting on the event, what it means from nearly every angle.

I have a good understanding of what school shootings are, what
happens in them, and what could happen in theory during one.

I talked about it at HotAir, but not at AoS, I don't know why.  I remember when the VTech massacre happened, people at HA couldn't believe Cho Seung-Hui didn't line up and kill people execution style, and were shocked nearly every step of the way as to what happened, while nearly all my predictions were close or correct. I pretty much knew what happened before it was announced what happened. I realize that sounds cocky, but its something I know well, having read extensively on my own, and having what happened at my school as a comparison. I hope that I can help people understand what they are.

The one at my school made me consider a career in teaching, I think in my heart I wanted to change the system to stop or minimize these massacres from happening, maybe not nationally, but at least in whatever school I worked in.  It was only until I gained an understanding of the system that I realized that it was futile to fight from the inside, so I decided against teaching.

It also made me tack hard right or libertine on most things.  The teachers ran and left the students when it happened at my school, and I pretty much lost all faith in people in positions of power.  This was and has been reinforced by other schools shootings where the police refused to stop a massacre in progress.  I recognize that you better be ultimately able to fend for yourself when disaster strikes, because you are on your own.

7.) Habits: Hopefully this is a little less grim.  I am extremely picky about what it is I eat, and how its arranged on my plate.  I can't stand to have different foods mixed in together on my plate unless I do it intentially.

Like say, if I get corn in my mashed potatoes, or some sort of sauce or gravy on bread that I didn't intend to have on it, I have to pick out the bits of corn, and they won't get eaten, or that part of the bread soggy with whatever on it will get picked away.  Its bizarre, its wasteful, and I can't help it, I'd probably chuck or at least be nauseus if I had to eat it unless I was literally starving.

I also hate onions, if I could eradicate every onion on the face of the earth, I would, and relish every second of doing it.  I hate everything about the onion, the smell, the taste, the way they burn my eyes (yeah, I don't just tear up, I feel like I've been maced), and worst, the texture.  My flesh crawls just thinking about the texture.

8.) Habit: Some more odd personal habits. I can belch at will, extremely loud.  You may have heard of people who can belch at will, what they do is swallow air.  I can do that.  Its a neat thing.

I also crack my neck really loud.  It makes people cringe because it sounds like its being broken.

------------

So there you go.  I'll come up with a list of people to tag later, I just have to find people who haven't been tagged.
