A friendly PSA to everyone above...a certain age

The word "gangbangers" no longer means what it once did.  Stop using it to describe gang members.  It only confuses/titillates the young people.

It's not my problem young people haven't learned English.

It's not my problem anybody hasn't learned English.

That's why I still use the word "niggardly".

2 Actually,  "gangbanger" is returning to the meaning it had in previous generations ... it briefly passed through the gang member stage.  it is now returning to its rightful place as a source of titillation.

3 Yeah, it meant pulling a train when I was younger. When I first heard it applied to homies I did at least a double take.

I've never heard it as "someone who gangbangs", I've only ever heard it as a gang member.

5 Interesting. I've always heard 'gangbang' in the sexual sense, but 'gangbanger' was ALWAYS a reference to a member of a criminal gang, and not one who engages in a gangbang.
