The Healthcare bill WILL pass. It will be signed. Also, the Supreme Court will NOT overturn it based on the "Slaughter" situation because the Court generally will avoid any interference with how the legislative branch accomplishes its "voting" on bills.
So, I think its time we start game planning for what we do next. Constitutionality of the insurance mandate? State resistance? Riot?
Update: This comment got out of control so here it is in an update...
1) It isn't my job to motivate you.
2) You being motivated will have literally 0 impact on whether a bunch of crapweasel Democrats do what they want to do instead of what they think they need to do to keep their jobs.
3) Eat my shit.
4) If I or you or anyone in the American electorate had ANY power in the matter I'd be in front of the line screaming and fucking pushing those fucktards toward the correct decision but they have CLEARLY decided that what the public WANTS is irrelevant. They're going for it. The goals of the socialist party can finally be realized and if a few heads have to roll, it'll be okay. They've set the self destruct mechanism and killed the only guy with the code.
Its just a matter of how shiteously they rape the Constitution before they're done. Hopefully they are egregious enough to motivate the populace into supporting a complete undoing of this piece of shit. Probably by two years into the higher taxes with no benefits the economy will be so unbelievably fucked up that it'll be destroyed.
But this bill this week? Passing. Get used to the idea. Its like when people say "Iran won't nuke us because they'll be destroyed." That stupid statement only makes sense when Iran is a rational actor. The Democrats, similarly, aren't rational actors so it will be equally invalid as an argument.
And if that won't stop them, then go ahead and tell me what will. I can't think of anything we have to offer that they want more than this.

“This “Bismarck Bank Job†provision looks like exactly the sort of backroom deal that makes the American people hate Washington and the whole process that has led to this massive, awful government takeover of our health care. Rep. Earl Pomeroy, the only House Member from the State of North Dakota has some questions to answer. Did he know about this provision? Was it inserted in an attempt to secure his support for the health care bill?
Democratic Leaders owe the American people an explanation: did they cut a backroom deal on this issue? What other backroom deals have they cut in their eleventh-hour push to jam through a bill that the American people have soundly rejected? The American people want answers, and they deserve the truth.â€

Granholm’s proclamation, issued at the urging of vegetarian activists, cited the benefits of a plant-based diet and the increasing availability of alternatives to meat and dairy products for vegans and vegetarians. Following a series of “whereases,†Granholm encourages “the residents of this state to choose not to eat meat†on Saturday.Never mind that she could have chosen any Friday other than tomorrow during Lent* and she would have had two million Catholics already on board.
Granholm's pissed off the Farm Bureau, and at the rate employable people are leaving Michigan she'd better be trying to support the cattle ranchers and pig farmers as much as she can - if Detroit keeps going the way it is, there won't be anything but farmland left soon. I'm really hoping they go through with their plan to have a barbecue on Saturday on the Capitol lawn. The Michigan Senate isn't too happy about it either - they've issued a resolution to counter the proclamation.
So let's support what few Michiganders are actually working to feed our country, and have a giant steak, or burger, or several dozen chicken wings, or half a roasted pig on Saturday. Like you need an excuse.

No, I mean really?!? What are they thinking?
I guess I'm getting what I deserve for actively rooting for Jake Tapper, because Lord knows the dino-media would do whatever is the opposite of the obvious and rational thing to do.

Oh, wait, you weren't kidding? It's kind of hard to tell, seeing as how you sent Al Fucking Franken to the Senate.

A couple of thoughts after quick review - this is the approach that Levin's stated all along which I think is brilliant, what with it being my approach as well. Throwing in the comments about the line item veto is a great touch since it directly addresses the justicablity argument.
The point about reliance and the impact on *all* current insurance contracts are also well made and ones that I haven't seen addressed too much. Honestly, this will rewrite thousands upon thousands of currently existing contracts immediately. That gives everyone with insurance standing. This also is going to be an enormous cost on insurance companies.
This is also pretty aggressive language, believe it or not. The comments about the Court needing to step up to its co-equal role are both an appeal to the Court's vanity and a shot across the bow about this being the last attempt to constrain Congressional excess.
Hopefully it won't come to that, but if the Slaughter Rule is used and the bill is deemed passed, the briefing on the 12(b)(6) motion to dismiss is where the real fun will be.

Funny thing is, most of the atrocities in the New Jersey category of People of Walmart are white redneck folk.

With all the talk of how the Democrats are going to rape us up the ass with no lube, a rusted chainsaw dipped in the clap, and nary an after-rape cuddle or thank you card to show for it, I'm happy seeing anybody saying anything about it. Regardless of what the House and the Senate think, no does mean no, and yelling "surprise" does not make it surprise sex - it makes you an asshole who yelled "surprise" at a bitch before you raped her.
There are quite a few states (and the majority of the American population) saying fuck this loudly and clearly by sponsoring or passing legislation that would require the state to sue the feds for forcing insurance on citizens. Today, we can congratulate Idaho for being the first to sign it into law. Now, I know that this is totally frivolous, doubtlessly a waste of time, and impossible to win - since federal law supercedes state law.
But, damnit, someone's got to make it loud and fucking clear that we don't want this reform. We don't want you to deem it so (who the fuck deems shit to be so in a democracy? isn't that what kings and queens say before the angry mob at their castle gates drop the guillotine?); we don't want you to force it through with the nuclear option, we want you to think about what's really, honestly, genuinely going to help America. And Americans.
But, no. You've hung your fucking hat on this one, and you are standing by the Titanic while it sinks. You called it unsinkable - and if you have to tie the fucking thing to a million blimps to airlift it out of the motherfucking ocean, you're going to do it.
Fuck you. Fuck you, your fucking agenda, your fucking arrogance, and fuck your fucking delusions of grandeur. Fuck you for being cowards who can't accept that you have failed, and, instead of being man enough to say, "Well, we failed; let's focus on what Americans want!" deciding to force something that no one wants on us.
In November, when I vote against every fucker who dared to support health care in any way, shape, or form, I will be saying fuck you under my breath. And loving every damn minute of it.

Yeah, fuck you O-care supporters. Fuck you with the used condom from that special chicken wrapped soaked in hate and around my boot. Fuck you for wanting to destroy everything and everybody I hold dear by replacing excellent service with the equivalent of "that guy" from a frat party who claims to know how to beat a drug test and/or avoid pregnancy with a can of Dr. Pepper. Fuck you for trying to demonize medical and insurance professionals who already suffer under the fucking yoke of legal harassment, and yet still are able to help people as best as they can. And fucking fuck you fuckrancid style with the fucking fuckbeagle of fuckingly fucked up fuckwitlessness for thinking that people would be better off with rationed or completely unobtainable care.
Fuck off, and stand in the back of the line you want all of us to endure.

He said: "As the foot slides around, you get wear and tear on the joints on the inside of the foot. The ankle is in the wrong position, the thigh bone also changes position, and you get an abnormal movement in the pelvis, which leads to back problems."
Those girls can't sue us, can they? I mean, they just advertise here, we never really endorsed the product.
Well, maybe alex. She's always going on about shoes.
Which leads us to wonder if she can sue herself.
If she is, indeed, a woman.
And no, I didn't see this on Ace's sidebar.
Well, maybe a little.

And I thought putting a bayonet on your pistol was funny.
Now you can put an assault rifle on your Glock.

Heh. I'm not sure if it's better or worse that it's sold out.
Although..... That would be Teh Awsum if you put a bayonet on both the Glock and the rifle.
H/T that guy you don't know. I asked him, he said he doesn't know any of you.

That's depressing.
Via Boortz we (still the editorial "we", but we're getting closer to the Royal We) see this heartwarming story about the state of justice in Britain.
Quote
When a restaurant owner found two teenage yobs raiding his beer cellar, he chased them and held them while his staff dialled 999.
Yay!, right?
Quote
The married father-of-five spent five hours in a police cell and had his DNA, fingerprints and police mugshot taken.
One was arrested the other apparently got off scot-free and our hero is facing charges. One threatened him the later on and the cops say they couldn't find him so oh well.
The cops said he should have called his mommy the cops and then stood back and let mommy the police fuck that... his mommy take care of it.
They're encouraging criminals to be criminals as they won't allow law-abiding types to defend themselves.
From this incident we've also established a hierarchy in Britain's "victim" status. The guy looks like an Indian or Pakistani so yobs are better than brown-folk.
