Here is the name that should be out there - Robin DeHaven

Instead of the nutjob who flew the plane into the building, everyone should be talking about this guy:

Fox News is interviewing a guy (former military) named Robin DeHaven who works for a glass replacement company named Binswanger.

He drove to the building after seeing plane and smoke from the crash, put his ladders up to the building -- and when he saw that the people at the window were 'panicked' -- climbed into the building, and helped get five people out.

That's a hero.  The jackass who did this?  Subhuman trash whose name should be spat upon.

Gaia FAIL, The Big Green Lie, And Wasteful Spending Go Hand In Hand

And predictably, this started in the UK. Seriously, fuck you hippies. Fuck you socialists. And fuck anybody and everyfuckingbody who thinks this shit is a fucking groovy idea.

Schemes included a £40,000 DVD in which schoolchildren explained that in ten years everyone will have to wear sunglasses all the time, because the sun will be shining more {even at night?-ed}.

A tent set up in shopping centres and labelled an ‘experiential climate dome’ was subsidised by Whitehall to the tune of nearly £400,000; a computer game cost £47 every time it was played; and a series of ‘ challenging pub quizzes’ about climate change cost more than £85,000.

Large grants went to councils, schools and youth groups for ‘ attitude modification’ programmes {whoa! That's a scary term there-ed}and to assure the public that man-made global warming is an established scientific fact.

And £200,000 went to Oxford University to ‘take climate change into the community’ {you mean to make the climate change in the community? Not even Algore can do that on his best and least meatiest days-ed}.

Details of the projects and the report for Ed Miliband’s Department of Energy and Climate Change – which was never published – were unearthed by the TaxPayers’ Alliance through Freedom of Information requests.

Matthew Sinclair, the group’s research director, said: ‘The Government has clearly crossed the line from public information to propaganda on climate change {and brainwashing. Don't forget that-ed}.

‘Many of the Climate Challenge Fund projects are utterly bonkers and misleading, and come with a huge price tag {and are scary as fuck-ed}.

No fucking shit, my Limey Friend. And what were the results of these wasteful and foolish brainwashing programs?

‘Despite a fortune having been spent on these projects, the fund has failed even on its own spuripeopleous terms. It is infuriating for taxpayers to see their money squandered on attempts to scare and indoctrinate the public {damn Teabaggers!-ed}.’

The report by consultants Brook Lyndhurst said the projects largely failed to produce any changes in the opinions among their target audiences. It judged that ‘the aggregate picture is one of neutral or very modest positive shifts’.

Future programmes should ‘avoid sensationalist or shocking imagery in climate change messages, since respondents are likely to find this off-putting’, it said.

The report added that those attracted to the projects were ‘already interested in climate change’. It suggested that in many cases organisations viewed the funding as ‘a way to secure additional resources {Green Lie defenders scamming for cash? No. Fucking. Way.-ed}’.

Folks, this story has it all: wasteful spending on irrelevant rojects, Government Sponsored Propaganda and Brainwashing, and hardly any net gain for the proponents of the programs. In other words, Obama is probably cranking up the money press to fund something twice as FAILtastic and brainwash-y in this country. Fuck this shit. Fuck it hard, fast, long, and often with the syphiliis soaked sploogerocket of spiked stupidity.

Moron of the Day: Not Dead. Just Busy.

Yeah, I'm the moron of the day.  Again.

See, I apparently thought it was a good idea to consistently take on more (mostly non-paying) projects in the second half of last year and here I am paying for it.  Throw in my 30th birthday, daughter raising and actual paying work and I'm busier than a teleprompter repair man after an EMP in Washington D.C.

As the political campaigns start to warm up in Wisconsin and Illinois I'll be more engaged as I have some inside people in Illinois' governor race and much to say about Wisconsin politics as we get closer to the middle of the year.

On a side note, anybody any good at sprite drawing/animation?  I have a super secret personal project that is nearing a stage where it will need some pretty pictures.

Why lookie who went a bit Bishop and tried to take out her boyfriend? Crystal Gale Mangum.

Apologias that she was driven to this because those terrible terrible Duke boys refused to let her railroad them into jail for something they didn't do and besides we all know that they did something it doesn't matter what the facts are will start in 3. . .2. . . 1.

Because, if it's not, somehow, it's gonna be that much more hilarious.

Amy Bishop: Teabagger?

Hey! I have a fucking awesome idea. Let's ignore Amy Bishop's batshit insanity, Obama worship, arrogance, violent recidivism, and everything else, and claim she was like those vile teabaggers. Sounds like a plan to me!

In November of 2008, a prime debate was whether the United States – with Barack Obama’s election – lived in a post-racial society. Fifteen months later, the answer is a resounding, “hell, no.” The proof: last week’s shooting in Alabama, where a disgruntled white professor murdered three minority professors {notice he didn't say "black" or African American?-ed}; and the growing success of the Tea Party movement, which is overwhelmingly white and increasing {sic?-ed}vocal in its violent dislike {proof?-ed}of the nation’s first black president....{no, it's his policies and ineptitude, assfuck, not his race. And how the fuck are the two connected? But I sense a meme from the left.-ed}

One thing is certain {oh, this oughta be good-ed}, though: As we enter the second year of Obama’s presidency, the continuing economic squeeze is causing people to act in ways they could never have imagined when Obama took his oath of office {no. I think most people who knew Amy Bishop believed she was about to go nutters. Just ask the people at that IHOP in 2002-ed}under the banner of “hope” and change” for the better.

Yeah, because economic squeezes are what caused a woman who killed her brother years ago and assaulted a woman at an IHOP over a fucking booster seat to go on a shooting spree shortly after being denied tenure.

Seriously, pal:

St. Louis Reporter Proves Yet Again What A Jackass He Is

Full Disclosure: I have had multiple run ins over the years with Charles Jaco. He is an unpleasant jackass of the highest order, and an arrogant one to boot.

Anyway, St. Louis Reporter Charles Jaco is not fond of those who are not supporters of Obama. And he lets his bias show in this clip.

Real professionalism on display there, asshole.

What's the only movie that could be better than Megashark vs. Giant Octopus?

Sharktopus!!!!!!

“‘Sharktopus!’ is more difficult because you can imagine a prehistorical crocodile like the Dinocroc, but there’s no such thing as prehistoric half-shark, half-octopus,” Corman said. “I tried to figure out how to do this.”

The solution? The U.S. Navy has commissioned a group called Blue Water to genetically engineer a half-shark, half-octopus to help combat Somali pirate ships. Then things go wrong.

Really?  Things go wrong.  I don't see how that could happen.

Can't California just get a normal politician?

What an interesting follow-up to the Governator this would be.  And talk about one fuck of a political platform - legalize weed, prostitution, and Cuban cigars, then tax the holy hell out of them!

Can "nanny state" be taken too literally?

Okay, look, I get annoyed by an unruly kid as much as the next guy.  Even my kid.  Actually, come to think of it, especially my kid.  However, if I move in next to a daycare, or an elementary school, I better expect that kids are going to be kids and are therefore going to be noisy while they learn and play.  Apparently, that was not the case in Germany:

In Berlin alone, hundreds of complaints are made each year about noise levels in kindergartens and children's playgrounds.

Some day-care facilities have even been forced to close after local residents have gone to court in search of a quiet life.

Now Berlin's local government, the senate, has passed a law giving children the right to be noisy, the first law of its kind in Germany.

Axel Strohbusch, from Berlin's Department of Noise Protection, said it was "the first time we have it written in law that we have to consider the rights of children to shout and make noise while they are growing up and this must be considered by all the neighbours".

Oh, Nanny State, how do I love thee.  Let me count the ways.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a leg.

You've probably already seen the story at Rantburg,
From Jan. 24 to Feb. 14, a total of 17 suicide bombers took aim at one coalition member after another but failed to kill any of them, according to a compilation of reports from Afghan police and military officials, and from the American-led International Security Assistance Force.

Heh. The best suicide bombers kill only themselves.
"So since you think we know about it, why tell us again? Are you trying to get  a link exchange or something?" you ask?

First off, don't talk to me that way.
Second, there's an update.

One of the the Jawas (Abu Fatima is his anti-Jihad name) found a truly brutal clip, description below the fold. It's seriously brutal (Yes, I would kid you, but not this time).
I'm not into snuff videos, but these are the kind I'd like to see prospective jihadis saw, the ones where you get no virgins.
Allah doesn't pay off on "try".

Usually, The NY Times Just Copies And Pastes DNC Talking Points

But I guess lifting damn near whole articles from other publications is also par for the course at the Old Gray Lazy now.

Within a day, they found half a dozen examples of passages lifted from other news sources. On Sunday night, an editors’ note was published on the Times Web site admitting that Mr. Kouwe had indeed lifted lines from a variety of sources, including The Journal and Reuters.

By Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Kouwe had resigned.

“We have a zero tolerance policy for unethical journalism,” wrote Mr. Keller in an e-mail to The Observer. “Plagiarism is unethical journalism.”

“I was as surprised as anyone that this was occurring,” said Mr. Kouwe, referring to the revelation that he had plagiarized. “I write essentially 7,000 words every week for the blog and for the paper and all that stuff. As soon as I saw, I guess, like six examples, I said to myself, ‘Man what an idiot. What I was thinking?’”

Mr. Kouwe says he has never fabricated a story, nor has he knowingly plagiarized. “Basically, there was a minor news story and I thought we needed to have a presence for it on the blog,” he said, referring to DealBook. “In the essence of speed, I’ll look at various wire services and throw it into our back-end publishing system, which is WordPress, and then I’ll go and report it out and make sure all the facts are correct. It’s not like an investigative piece. It’s usually something that comes off a press release, an earnings report, it’s court documents.”

“I’ll go back and rewrite everything,” he continued. “I was stupid and careless and fucked up and thought it was my own stuff, or it somehow slipped in there. I think that’s what probably happened.”

Yeah. Just an accident. It's not as though the NY Times has made mistakes before, right? Ok, so how is management responding?

A Times spokeswoman said, “Our journalistic standards are the same online as they are in print.”

Heh.

Look, I know things happen, and that shitbags wind up in every line of work. But why is it so many of these guys end up at the NY Times, especially after the Jayson Blair fiasco?

Know how you can tell how unpopular John McCain is?

I can't find another conservative site that has mentioned JD Hayworth's birth certificate comments. I did find some comments at Pajamas Media in response to a post about how great JD Hayworth is, but that's it.

Update - Hot Air has it now

also fixed the original link.

I could actually get behind this

In an experiment that could reshape American secondary education, high schools in eight states will introduce new courses next year, along with a battery of tests for sophomores, that will allow students who pass to get a diploma two years early and immediately enroll in community college.

...

The new system of high school coursework with the accompanying board examinations is modeled largely on systems in high-performing nations including Denmark, Finland, England, France and Singapore.

...

“That’s a central problem we’re trying to address, the enormous failure rate of these kids when they go to the open admission colleges,” said Marc S. Tucker, president of the National Center on Education and the Economy, a Washington-based nonprofit that is organizing the board exam effort. “We’ve looked at schools all over the world, and if you walk into a high school in the countries that use these board exams, you’ll see kids working hard, whether they want to be a carpenter or a brain surgeon.”

I think it would be even better if there was a vo-tech / apprenticeship aspect also, but I will take gains where I can get them.
