So much for Obama's dreams of being undisputed princess of the world

I thought the election of President Ohmygawd was supposed to mean that the entire world would immediately fall in hopeychangey kissylove with America and wish nothing but good things for our country and our leadership...

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is known for brash rhetoric in addressing the West, but in a speech Sunday he went a step further using a deeply offensive insult in response to U.S. statements that the military option against Iran is still on the table.

"May the undertaker bury you, your table and your body, which has soiled the world," he said using language in Iran reserved for hated enemies.

I prefer to believe that our interpreters are doing as good a job of understanding Ahmadinejad's meaning as our State Department has done with honoring the customs of other countries.  If we can't even hang a flag right-side-up, it would be unsurprising if we misinterpret something as complex as DIAF, which surely means "I wish nothing but success and good health upon your venerable leadership and your inspiring nation.

Why We Fight

These people showed up on the National Mall on Saturday for Ed Schultz's rally...

Be sure to pay attention to what shows up on the right side of your screen at about 0:45, by the way. It's only there for a second.

50 most stupid observations on movies

These fools have a list of the 50 most racist movies.

It's freaking hilarious. If it's on purpose it's genius, if not, well, they must take the short ISP to the Intertubes.
I've never seen the movie Bottle Rocket, but here's why it's racist.
Quote
it's just that the movie is so violently white that you know something fucked up is going on somewhere.

I'm pretty sure I've read almost that exact quote from either Ace or Allah.
It just keeps getting funnier too.
Sadly, I think it's for real. Which does make it most hilarious with just a touch of endy (that someone would actually think this way).

The wrong lesson

I'm sorry, but this smacks of utter P.C. bullshit:

[Rutgers University President Richard] McCormick's Friday letter said that "This tragedy and the events surrounding it have raised critical questions about the climate of our campuses. Students, parents, and alumni have expressed deep concern that our university, which prides itself on its rich diversity, is not fully welcoming and accepting of all students."
In case you've been hiding under a rock for the last week or so, this has to do with a couple of creeps broadcasting a Rutgers freshman named Tyler Clementi having sex online via a hidden camera, after which Clementi committed suicide by jumping off of a bridge.

This is both a tragedy and an outrage.

But what this is not is some sort of indictment of the "climate" at Rutgers. It's about Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei, the amoral assholes who decided that it would be funny to invade someone's privacy in a stupid and cruel way.

This isn't something where university officials need to sit down with a certain group of people and talk about diversity. This is something where they should be talking to ALL of their students about obeying the law and acting within the bounds of common decency.

This shouldn't be viewed through the prism of sexual orientation. Or race. Or class. Or gender. Or religion. Or any other label. The fact of the matter is that an individual was robbed of his dignity by a couple of repulsive fucking assholes who belong in jail and who will hopefully carry their victim's death on their consciences forever.

Oh, and when Ravi and Wei hopefully get the book thrown at them, I hope it's a "teachable moment" about legal and decent conduct more than "diversity."

Let them eat Hamburger Helper

Click here for something just, just un-fucking-believable [with my emphasis]...

According to the pool report, Obama thanked Phillips for the work he and his wife have done for Team Obama. Then the president mentioned that Phillips and Douglass have an opulent place in Italy and wondered why there had been no invitation to visit. "I'd appreciate a little break and some Tuscan sun," the president said, according to the pool report. "Some pasta. I can use it."
There...there are just no fucking words.

(By the way, in case anyone doubted that His Nibs uttered those words, Politico had the same quote.)
