Are Republicans completely stupid?

I mean honestly.  How could the Republican Party let this special election in NY-20 get so close?  It's going to a recount

And, I know this may get me kicked out of conservatism (or something), but the voters are just as idiotic.  What the hell is up with voting for a Democrat because they say they're pro-gun or pro-life or pro/anti-whatever?  They fucking lie to you.  They think/know that you don't pay any attention to the things they do in DC.  They campaign on being pro-life, then they vote to bring pro-abortion bills to the floor knowing that they'll pass without their vote.

When will you people wake the fuck up?  Say what you want about the Dems but, with very few exceptions, there aren't that many Democratic districts in Republican hands.  In fact, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Rep. Cao in New Orleans.

Geesh.  Rant over.

What did noted conservative firebrand Meghan McCain do this weekend?

Why, attend Perez Hilton's 31st birthday party in West Hollywood, of course.  Her gift to him was not saying how "in love" she was with the Republican Party every two or three minutes.

She seems to love people who spend the last year or so telling the world that her dad is New Hitler.

Who could have possibly forseen this?

A guy who became famous for jumping off of mountains wearing a "wing suit" died yesterday...well, you can pretty much see where this is going.

oh never mind

Well this is an oopsie - CT state officials identify someone as getting a bonus from AIG when he didn't.

Now normally that would be no big deal but considering the stalking and the threats and the general nastiness, I rather think that very very least that can happen is a public retraction by the same people at the same volume as the statements.

I also think I should wake up tomorrow six feet tall and with a perfect figure.  Frankly, I think that's more likely to happen.

Behold the power of the state.  State officials can bellow and scream and pontificate and then be all Emily Litella when the facts turn out to be something a wee bit different.  Meanwhile, this poor schmuck now will always be "that guy who got the bonus" even though he didn't.  I know it's too much to expect public officials to give a shit about the lives they are playing with, but a girl can dream.

FYI Meghan: She's like Britney Spears, but without all the nuance

More comedy gold from Meghan "David Frum with a better rack*" McCain:

Say, isn't Meghan McCain supposed to be mega-super-ultra hip and poppin' fresh?  Shouldn't she know who Lady Gaga is?  Hell, I even know who Lady Gaga is.

*I said "better," not "bigger," mind you.

Dude Arrested For Multitasking

Not only was he banging a dog, but he hit the horse as well.

Coppes is also charged with abusing the girl's small Palomino horse. The bestiality charges each carry up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. If convicted, Coppes would not have to register as a sex offender.

The 25-year-old from Polk County is free on bond but has been ordered to stay away from his neighbor and her animals. He also faces a criminal trespass charge. He had faced a public sexual indecency charge but Arkansas law requires the participation of two humans for a conviction.

Even More Domestic Advice

When you are getting ready to go to work and can't find your cell phone, calling it from your landline is a good idea. But if you do that, just hope that the phone wasn't accidentally left in your still-sleeping daughter's room.

That is, unless you want the youngster to wake up.

Just sayin'.

Some Domestic Advice

When cooking something using your wife's good Corning Ware, taking the extremely hot glass lid straight from the oven and placing it in the kitchen sink is dangerous enough. Accidentally running cold water on it makes it quite explode-y.

Just sayin'.

But, at least I get to stimulate the Corning Ware business tonight by buying a new set, so I have that going for me.

Now it's my turn to piss everyone off!

I'm going to ignore MP's (completely correct) observation about focusing on stupid things when there's important fights to be had and focus on a stupid thing.  Why?  Because I'm good like that.

This should be obvious but just to clarify:  the following comments are mine and mine alone and do not necessarily reflect those of anyone else here.   My opinions.  My statements.  It's all about meeeeee.

I previously expressed in a calm and demure manner my distaste for those on the Left who attempt to deny my sexuality as I do not adhere to their politics.  Now, it's time to express my displeasure with those on the Right.  There will be far less profanity because those on the Right merely are attempting to throw me out of the club, not deny my very existence.  Proportional profanity, that's the key.

My position that my sexuality is not based on your politics also applies to those on the Right.  I am fully aware that there are many on the Right who do not want me in their party because of that whole bisexual thing.  I'm actually okay with that.  I have no problems with those whose religion deems I will go to Hell for it.  I have issues when people attempt to speed that process along.  I don't even particularly have a problem with being called names and being told I'm going to Hell.  I don't like it by any means but I accept that as the price to be paid for supporting a free exchange of ideas.  People advocating actually killing me is a wee tad different.  That's why the whole opposition to gay marriage = homophobia thing ticks me off.  If that's true, which it's not, then what words are left for those who actually want to push a wall onto them there fags and kill them?  Super doubleplushomophobia?  But I digress.

What I do mind, deeply, is the presumption that I am lying about my politics or that I am somehow not actually a conservative or a libertarian based solely on sexuality.  That is precisely the same idiocy that the Left practices.  It is no less inappropriate coming from the Right.  If someone wishes to argue that support for gay marriage is not a conservative position, okay then.  But reading comments about those so-called gay conservatives blah blah blah really ticks me off.  Sexuality does not contain within it a certain set of political views.  It just *doesn't*.  And people need to get their heads out of their asses and stop thinking it does.

There.  I feel better now.  I promise I'll go back to boring y'all with half baked discussions of the housing crisis and shoes now.

UPDATE:  Since several people asked - no it was nothing around here.  This is my passive aggressive response to any and all comment threads that appear at Moron Central when Gabe posts about gay marriage, Prop. 8, etc.  I know better than to read the comments over there, I really do.  I also know that much of it is based on the fact that it's Gabe who is posting it.  But this has been on my mind for awhile and I wanted to get it out there.  I also think this is a situation where I need to suck it up and be the better person.  That's not something at which I'm particularly skilled.

I Know! Let's Have A "Stop The Violence" Concert

Good idea.

Too bad reality got in the way.

The free Stop the Violence youth concert was held Saturday night on Ellsworth Street in downtown Silver Spring in memory of 14-year-old Montgomery Blair High School student Tai Lam, who was shot to death in November.

Police say fighting broke out near the stage toward the end of the concert and at least one person resisted arrest. Police say 16 adults and juveniles were arrested for offenses such as assault and

I think I'll stick with khakis, thanks

If you thought the world of fashion wasn't sufficiently ridiculous, well, here you go...

This season, menswear has been taken to new levels of skinniness. Guys, wince and whimper a painful "hello" to man-leggings, or "meggings".
Um, no. Just no.

(Thanks to TI.)

I've cracked the code

Everything Debbie Schlussel does online follows a pattern:

1. Say ridiculous things, call people morons, etc.

2. Use your next post/column to call everyone who disagrees with you deranged.

Seriously, Andrew Breitbart, I love me some Big Hollywood, but why do you link someone who hates everything?
