Here Is What A Real Leader Does

At least Sarah Palin knows how to put on a flight suit. I bet Biden would have put the helmet on backwards.

Tiger v. Laptop

If any of you want to buy me one of those (tiger and/or laptop), I'll definitely set up a mail drop.

Just Make Sure You Don't Stare Directly At It When It Is Opened

Seriously, I swear I saw a movie about this once.

The idea that the Ark is presently in Ethiopia is a well-documented, albeit disputed, tradition dating back to at least 642 B.C. The tradition says it was moved to Elephantine Island in Egypt, then to Tana Kirkos Island in Ethiopia and finally to its present site at St. Mary's of Zion Church in Axum.

Great Moments In Political Discourse, Urinating Monkey Edition

I guess the folks and critters in Zambia have a unique way of expressing their political views.

"You (monkey) have urinated on my jacket," Banda softly sneered at the monkey.

Banda, who recently won reelection, seemed a bit pee-ved as he paused and looked up to see the animal playing in a tree just above his chair.

"Perhaps these are blessings," he said continuing his address amid laughter from the audience of journalists and diplomats at the presidential offices in the capital Lusaka.

Several monkeys play around the grounds of Banda's residence and his office.

A bit of non-important fluff

So.  I just got back from Transformers 2.   Let me put it this way, it's Michael Bay directing a movie about robots smashing into each other.  The odds I wouldn't like it are, pretty much, non-existent.

Not too spoilery but I'll put below the fold.

Video Of The Day

Thanks to Carin

The irony of a song made by trust fund anarchists for trust fund anarchists who have never faced anything scarier than the last level of Halo 3 being used by people who are trying to survive against one of the left's favorite regimes is delicious.

Quote of the Day

From Greg Gutfeld, reacting to the unserious Obama, who spent his day hanging out with Tony Hawk and getting soft serve while Iranian protesters are getting shot and beaten in the streets,

Someone please dig up Reagan. I'd take a dead leader with balls over a living camp counselor who wants all the cool kids to like him.

Kensington, in Gutfeld's comments,

This skateboard guy is likely to be the only hawk we get in the White House whilst Obama is POTUS.

He's going to be worse than Carter...worse than Carter after Carter left the White House.

I know, I know but if I had shame I wouldn't be me

I love Roland Emmerich. I do. And I can't wait for 2012.

Dude.  He figured out a way to blow up the whole world.  This is going to be so so perfectly awful.  Cannot.  Freaking.  Wait.

I am posting this for the helpful advice on fitness

And not for the picture. Devon Aoki beefed up by carrying around a 30 pound gun.

See, that's TOTALLY helpful advice.  Totally.  I thought I'd be a caring giver and share.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go watch Sin City again.

Iribnews.ir, the Iranian state-run news website, has been hacked. Front page hasn't been changed yet, but my guess is that it's coming shortly.

Now That Letterman Apologized, What Next?

After David Letterman apologized for his remarks directed at Gov. Sarah Palin's daughters, she did the classy thing and accepted the apology.

The Alaska governor, in a statement issued Tuesday, said the apology was accepted "on behalf of all young women, like my daughters, who hope men who `joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve."

Fair enough. But I assert that a three other points need to be made, especially on how to handle liberals and the media (BIRM).

First off, when a Conservative and their supporters rally, refuse to give up and go away, and use the tactics of Alinsky, sometimes the liberal bullies will buckle. They are not used to us punching back, and they don't know what to do when it does happen.Yeah, the loss of advertising undoubtedly forced CBS and Letterman to revisit this situation, but they did, and they would have blown it off had pressure not been put on the people who call the shots.

Secondly, accept the fact that "comedians" such as Letterman and Jon Stewart are essentially a de-facto wing of the Obama Spin Machine, and treat them as campaign flacks. In fact, their reach and impact is more profound, since way too many people have their opinions shaped by these idiots than they do from "traditional" news anchors. Jim Treacher and Andrew Breitbart are correct that we should fight them and not allow them to retreat behind the "clown nose on, clown nose off" game that they have used for too long to beat on us. As such, we should refuse to just laugh off malicious assaults that sound as though they were written on Obama Campaign Literature and not cue cards for a stand up routine. Again, fighting back in an organized fashion will bear fruit.

Finally, the media cheerleaders for these assclowns should not be immune from criticism. They have enabled comedians to shape opinion by letting them become news in their own right (Remember Jon Stewart taking on CNBC, and how it became top of the hour news on many "serious" shows?) . They should be pressured into accepting responsibility for their words and deeds, especially since they cannot hide behind a "comedian" defense. Hell, if MediaMatters and KOS can force a media hack into an apology, why can't we?  Admittedly, this is a tougher nut to crack, since the MSM will be asked to report on and self police itself, but the same organized tactics that were used against Letterman can and should be used whenever Jeffrey Toobin steps over the line. Who knows? Maybe it will work there as well.

Anyway, job well done to all who fought back. Remember this feeling, and how victory tastes, and be greedy for more.

PA to have Official State Rifle?

The Pennsylvania Long Rifle, as if there was any doubt.  Here's a demo of one being loaded and fired.

They're pretty damned accurate for such an old rifle, a skilled rifleman could shoot them accurately out to 250+ yards.  We totally need an official state rifle.
