Actually, yes, I do have an idea of what the article is about. I find the entire singularity discussion interesting, however, I am not overly optimistic that humanity will make the leap out of human flesh any time soon.

If you break a musician's guitar, be prepared to pay him for it. Otherwise, you get this.

To make this vaguely umm topical or some such, this is a win for consumer rights over the state sticking its nose into a place where it doesn't belong. There's no rational explanation for why I can't buy a six pack at Wal-Mart. Though I will say, I did find it a bit disturbing that I could pick up alkiehol at the gas station when I lived in Ohio. Bit of a mixed message there.

The price collapse and overplanting has forced Australia's biggest winemaker, Foster's, owner of prestigious labels such as Lindemans and Penfolds, to sell 31 vineyards across the country, including 16 in South Australia and nine in New South Wales.
"There is a huge oversupply and we have more grapes than we are selling, and prices are being pushed down."
Major wine retailer Dan Murphy's is currently selling cleanskins for $1.99 a bottle - cheaper than some bottled water - due to the oversupply crisis that has led to some vineyard owners leaving grapes to wither on the vine.
"We've seen growers who didn't bother picking their grapes this year," said wine industry critic and judge Stuart Gregor.

Especially when it's Amsterdam.
The city's red light district is famed the world over for its women in tiny windows and even tinier clothing, but despite the trade being legal, many banks shy away from taking the ladies on as customers.
As part of the city's "Project 1012" to remake the De Wallen neighborhood, which includes the sex district, the city council has been asked to find a way to help bordello owners and sex workers gain more access to banks.
"Up until now, it's been very difficult for people in the sex industry to get credit with the banks," a city council spokesman said on Friday.
"For them it is a hazard that they can not get regular credit or help or mortgages or anything from a regular bank."
The council is expected to come to some sort of conclusion within the next two months on what it might do to help the industry.
It will not, however, establish or sponsor a "sex bank" as reported by a local paper.
"It's more that we're going to investigate and talk with bankers and try to set up a system in which they can get a loan or credit," the spokesman said.
He added the city wants to ensure that prostitution is a "bona fide" industry, and that the "entrepreneurs" who ply the local trade need access to regular bank credit for legitimacy.
Over the long term, under Project 1012 -- named for the area's postcode -- the city plans to restrict prostitution to a few tightly controlled areas

"Found dead after a booze-filled hooker romp."
The pair were found in a hotel room on Monday in Mexico City, not far from the famous Arena Mexico wrestling venue. They were identified as brothers Alberto and Alejandro Jiménez, who were known in the ring as La Parkita and Espectrito Jr.
Reports say the wrestlers, both aged 35, picked up two prostitutes and took them to a hotel room but, hours later, the women left alone.
When a hotel worker went to clean the room they discovered the bodies of the wrestlers laying in the beds.
And the midgetry involved in the story makes it one of the greatest stories ever.

First, I would like to say that Megan Kelly and Shepard Smith are almost exactly the same. Except Megan, of course, has bigger balls.
They're both advocacy journalists (Shep is obviously trying to be Geraldo, Jr while Megan is more like Glenn Beck), which one is better looking?
A truly excellent question indeed. Let us examine the evidence. First, Shep:
Great eyes, looks fab in a suit, has that "I'm a naughty boy" grin. Alllllll good. And then he opens his mouth, proves he's an utter loon and makes me want to smack him in the face with my 3 wood. -10,000 attractiveness points.
Then there Megyn:

Intelligent, articulate, excellent sense of humor, nice personal style . . . . Yeah, yeah, like any of y'all are reading the words at the moment.
She's stunning and smart and makes idiots near to cry while interviewing them. +10,000 attractiveness points.
The winner, in a landslide, Megyn.
Now, if you want me to choose between Megyn and Brit Hume, well, that's a different story. Oh Brit. Oh your snark. Oh your archness. Oh how you made Juan Williams look like an idiot. I LOVE YOU BRIT PLEASE COME BACK! Ahem. What was the question?

“I started experiencing these different realms, these different planes of existence … I know exactly what I’m capable of doing. … People talk about speaking with lizards and stuff. You can communicate with anyone, with nature, that’s all that happened there. To me, that’s not a big deal now. I like to astal travel, teleport, travel through time … December 21, 2012, by the way, that’s the number. As seven billion people, the world will rise to another level of consciousness. I don’t have all the answers.â€
Yeah, that's some good stuff right there. But can it top these people, who think the moon is gay?
I think we should send some morons into space to land on the moon and plant bombs to blow it up. The moon is gay.
Where's Frank J when you need him?
