The best part? Barack isn't even the worst name in the family:
Decontee Williams was so excited by Barack Obama's victory on Tuesday night that she started jumping up and down — and went into labor. Twelve hours later, Barack Jeilah was born at Phoenix Baptist Hospital to Williams and Prince Jeilah.Wow. Just wow.

I'm at work listening to my African-American supervisor try to explain why his first-ever vote for a Democratic President this year wasn't identity politics.
Okay, whatever you say.
P.S. - I am aware that this post is racist.

Would America have elected Barack Obama if white Americans had not gotten accustomed to seeing (in succession) two African-American Secretaries of State? I don't think so. Before Bush, African-Americans were appointed to some good posts but not to our #1 foreign policy job. Two African Americans (one with a pretty odd first name) served as America's face to the world. That eased Obama's way. It is not Tiger Woods in whose footsteps Obama is walking — it's Rice and Powell.I guess Rice and Powell weren't just house slaves after all.
Fact is, "W" never gave any evidence of holding racist attitudes.

Exit question observation: If you don't fault Sarah Palin for McCain's loss, you're kinda like Annie Wilkes in Misery, doncha know?
You bunch of dirty birds.

1) Obama will be my President. I wish him the best in keeping America safe from attacks both at home and abroad and failure at everything else. One of the most annoying things about the past 8 years has been the Left denying Bush his presidency. I won't be that way.
2) I probably lost my chance at a job that would nearly double my salary and get me to DC last night. Blah.
3) This loss was on John McCain. I stand with Gov. Sarah Palin.
4) I eagerly await the reshaping of the Republican Party during our time in the wilderness. I hope that Palin, Bobby Jindal, Paul Ryan, Jeff Flake, etc. will have a primary role in bringing the GOP back to conservatism.
This is not a time to be depressed. If the Left has taught us anything over the past 8 years, it's that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. We have the chance to be very patriotic over the next four years.

Andrew Sullivan issued his endorsement today...you'll never guess who got it.
Update: In case you were wondering, Excitable Andy saw the letter from Gov. Palin's daughter. As you might expect, it's still not good enough, because it is only a letter and there is no detailed information. And yes, he knew what you were thinking. He made sure to say that it was okay when Obama just had his docter release a letter, because at least Obama had his doctor release it with a lot of time before the general election.
This is the first time I've ever delved into the Well of Crazy that is Andrew Sullivan.
I don't want to go back.

1. Obama says that he will bankrupt any new coal plants and cause energy prices to skyrocket.
2. Someone (Gov. Palin this time) calls his ass on the line for it.
3. We are informed by the Obama campaign that we are to believe them, not our lyin' ears:
The Obama campaign says that Palin took Obama’s position out of context because in the interview Obama said that “this notion of no coal, I think is an illusion.†Obama and McCain have both pushed for technology to develop cleaner burning coal. “What we have to do then is figure out how can we use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon,†Obama told the Chronicle in the interview.I don't think I can handle four years of this crap.

Financial strain and an expired lease have caused the East Bay chapter of Code Pink, which has staged protests outside the Marine Corps recruiting center in Downtown Berkeley for over a year, to close its Albany office this week. They are having a Move-Out sale on all their materials. Now don't y'all trample each other like a bunch of Black Friday shoppers looking for the bargain basement prices on the misspelled signs.

Question? Does he not remember the Smith & Wesson boycott? Does he not remember Zumbo? In any case, he foolishly came out in support of the most anti-2nd presidential candidate in US history. 24 hours later? Yeah, the employees and shareholders are asking Cooper to resign.
See, this is why I admire Second Amendment activists and organizations so much. They don't compromise, and because of that they get fucking results.

Poor Nick Lampson, he's just all tuckered out these days:
"I need a break. We all do," says democrat Nick Lampson, who is defending his seat in the 22nd Congressional District. "It's an exciting period, though, when we have an opportunity to meet so many people."
Well, I have good news for you, Nick! It looks like you're about to have a long break.
You can donate to Pete Olson's campaign here.

I know Ace left Boston to return to New York, but I didn't realize the hobos in New England felt they could be as brazen as this once the Master Hunter left town.
Stack told police he sleeps in the garage of his home, and that the two men both wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, surprised him in bed where he fell asleep listening to the radio.
According to the police report, Stack told police "a lot of his friends are homeless" and that "all his friends knew that he had a lot of cash on him, due to hearing that the stock market was doing bad and that he should pull his money out of the banks" and that he kept a "cash reserve at home."
Police said a chain on the gate at the end of the driveway of Stack's home had been cut and that there was a large hole in the fence beside the house.
Stack said he gave the men his wallet containing $4,000 in $100 and $50 bills. He said the assailants then tied his wrists and legs together while lying facedown on the bed, and that they punched him and asked for the keys to his 2001 Green Volkswagen Jetta.
Before leaving, they told Stack, 'If you call the police, we'll kill you."
According to police, there were "several coins leading from the lawn into the woods." Stack told police that he also kept a large amount of coins in the house and he believes the robbers took some of them.
After Prescott and Santiago left, Stack used a pair of scissors to free his wrists and called police at 7:22 p.m.
And how did these hobos spend the money? Rent? Food? ACORN/Obama voter registration?
Hell no! They spent it like a true hobo would.
The suspects allegedly abandoned Stack's car in the Mr. Tux parking lot on Merrimack Street in Lawrence and took a taxi to the Hampton Inn Express on Winthrop Avenue in Lawrence. They paid the cab driver $50, spent $60 in alcohol and another $400 in crack cocaine before renting two rooms at the hotel, which they paid for with $100 bills, police said.
Santiago and Prescott, along with another man and woman, also homeless, were celebrating Prescott's 45th birthday Saturday, police said.
Stack told police that he recognized a woman at the hotel party also as being a guest at Bread & Roses, and that he hired her about a month ago to clean his house.
Stack told police that the woman "may have stolen about $3,000 from his wallet on that occasion."
In court yesterday, Prescott and Santiago were represented by defense attorneys Thomas Sheehan and Alicia McNeil.
Judge Kevin Gaffney ordered them held without bail at the Essex House of Correction in Middleton, until the case is continued tomorrow.

Mitt Romney 30%
Mike Huckabee 26%
Sarah Palin 20%
I will just note that there was no similar question for Democrats. They seem certain their Messiah will win.
Also, Mitt Romney and the Huckster in the 1 and 2 slots? Are these people serious?
