Support for socialist medicine is already dropping, and I'll bet we can make it drop further. We may already have stopped it. If Obama was going to pass socialist medicine, he'd have done it already and pushed a bill through with his high approval ratings. His numbers are dropping steadily, and I bet they'll get worse as people get over their Hopenchange unicorn hangover.

They're not fooling anyone, that's intended to hold a beer. Preferably a cheap domestic beer. All it needs is a cigar lighter and you'll have your alcohol, tobacco, and firearms covered in one tidy package.

No new stills yet, sorry. I'm watching for them daily, though, and as soon as some come out, they will be posted, I promise.

I actually do miss him. There was an Oxyclean commercial on the other day and I'll admit it, I sniffled.

Actually, yes, I do have an idea of what the article is about. I find the entire singularity discussion interesting, however, I am not overly optimistic that humanity will make the leap out of human flesh any time soon.

If you break a musician's guitar, be prepared to pay him for it. Otherwise, you get this.

To make this vaguely umm topical or some such, this is a win for consumer rights over the state sticking its nose into a place where it doesn't belong. There's no rational explanation for why I can't buy a six pack at Wal-Mart. Though I will say, I did find it a bit disturbing that I could pick up alkiehol at the gas station when I lived in Ohio. Bit of a mixed message there.

The price collapse and overplanting has forced Australia's biggest winemaker, Foster's, owner of prestigious labels such as Lindemans and Penfolds, to sell 31 vineyards across the country, including 16 in South Australia and nine in New South Wales.
"There is a huge oversupply and we have more grapes than we are selling, and prices are being pushed down."
Major wine retailer Dan Murphy's is currently selling cleanskins for $1.99 a bottle - cheaper than some bottled water - due to the oversupply crisis that has led to some vineyard owners leaving grapes to wither on the vine.
"We've seen growers who didn't bother picking their grapes this year," said wine industry critic and judge Stuart Gregor.

Especially when it's Amsterdam.
The city's red light district is famed the world over for its women in tiny windows and even tinier clothing, but despite the trade being legal, many banks shy away from taking the ladies on as customers.
As part of the city's "Project 1012" to remake the De Wallen neighborhood, which includes the sex district, the city council has been asked to find a way to help bordello owners and sex workers gain more access to banks.
"Up until now, it's been very difficult for people in the sex industry to get credit with the banks," a city council spokesman said on Friday.
"For them it is a hazard that they can not get regular credit or help or mortgages or anything from a regular bank."
The council is expected to come to some sort of conclusion within the next two months on what it might do to help the industry.
It will not, however, establish or sponsor a "sex bank" as reported by a local paper.
"It's more that we're going to investigate and talk with bankers and try to set up a system in which they can get a loan or credit," the spokesman said.
He added the city wants to ensure that prostitution is a "bona fide" industry, and that the "entrepreneurs" who ply the local trade need access to regular bank credit for legitimacy.
Over the long term, under Project 1012 -- named for the area's postcode -- the city plans to restrict prostitution to a few tightly controlled areas
